Ventale Island Breeze Resort

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent and they should be really proud of the work they do and the experience they offer. We went for my partners Birthday and they gave us such a great experience making us feel very valued and she had the best Birthday week because of that, so thank you. The resort itself is stunning and we couldn’t fault it in anyway at all! Our room was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for more, the staff in all areas of the business were excellent and we couldn’t have asked for more. The atmosphere is so chilled and relaxed and we loved the entertainment, which was very well chosen to go with the overall atmosphere of the resort. Lastly another big thank you to everyone there and we will 100% be back in a year or 2! The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave! We have stayed in many nice hotels/resorts and the Ventale Breeze Beach Resort topped them all!!

We were upgraded to a suite with a pool, which was absolutely amazing; the room had everything we needed and a most fantastic view. The atmosphere was excellent, and the staff were very friendly, especially Kiki at reception, who could not do enough for us; I saw her often in the dining area speaking to guests and ensuring people were enjoying themselves. The location was excellent for the beach, which was a very short and easy walk. Unfortunately, it is not near amenities, but there is a good bus service. If you are looking to chill and relax, then this is the right place; there was no loud music at the beach or the pool, which was an added bonus, and there was no kids' club, no loud noise at night, and the entertainment appeared to have stopped at a reasonable hour. The hotel was lovely, clean, and new-looking. I was told it was only two years old. For us, the holiday was excellent value for the money we paid. If you are asking whether to pay for an upgrade when you are there, I would say yes, but to be fair, I think all their rooms are of good quality and you would not be disappointed. Plus, I received a gift bag on departure with local tea and two small liqueurs. It was unexpected and fantastic for a small hotel. I could go on about the feel, the size of towels in the rooms, at the pool, and at the beach, and the comfortable, padded, and very clean sunbeds they provided at the beach. There are private toilets at the beach; oh, I could go on, as these little things are what I remember of a quality hotel. In fact, there are so many little things that make your life as a guest pleasant. I feel I need to mention the young lady who took yoga and Pilates classes in the gym and on the beach; she was not only good and attentive, but funny. Hand on heart, I would recommend this hotel and its staff, food, rooms, and facilities.

Located about 4km from one of our favourite resorts - Georgiopolis, the hotel is in a very quiet spot. There are a few local shops, car hire and tavernas in easy walking distance and bus stops to take you to Chania and Rethymno. The beach is lovely and recently awarded a Blue Flag. There is a beach bar with WC and showering facilities. The hotel itself is only 2 years old at time of this review and is quite a nice design, although one thing we didn't really get along with was the 'smart' wall panels that control the lighting, curtains etc. Simple switches would have been more intuitive and convenient. The other negative was the climate control - we could never get comfortably warm no matter what we set the temperature to or mode we selected - we always felt a little cold. The room we had was at ground level with a sea view and plunge pool(which we didn't use as the water temperature was arctic and the pool unheated - the sea was a lovely 23°C though) and was a very nice size with a large screen TV and lounge area. The bed was super-king size and very comfy. As for food, we didn't try the A la-carte restaurant as the standard buffet was so good with a mixture of cuisines for both breakfast and dinner(we were half-board). We always found something to enjoy and some of it was outstandingly good. Service, was unvaryingly excellent and the staff fantastic and pleasant. The cleanliness of the rooms and the rest of the hotel was immaculate - including the beach! I can't comment on the spa facilities as we didn't use them. We don't normally stay in 5 star hotels but we did this as we got a great deal and I would advise to shop around for the best price. Last but not least is the WiFi provision. We were getting around 20-30mbps which is fine for browsing, email etc. but not great for streaming entertainment content - especially anything in 4k/Dolby vision. The TV didn't have Smart apps other than YouTube and Netflix but it did have screen mirroring. All-in-all, I would happily go back to Ventale Island Breeze at the right price as we had a very relaxing stay and were very well looked after there.

Love this hotel. Room fabulous with its own pool and sun beds (same beds at beach luxury) everything electronic lights curtains door. We were half board (don’t usually use dining facilities ) food was fabulous each night amazing choices, hot and replenished often. Felt like we were eating at a restaurant rather than buffet. We had meal in alacarte restaurant on a fish menu as part of our package and it was amazing. Every member of staff are a credit to hotel very helpful and friendly obviously hotel give exceptional training. Can not fault this hotel. Would recommend a visit and we would return. Regrets ? 2 days bad weather and did not book a longer stay.

We have just returned from 11 nights at the Ventale and with the exception of a couple of days of stormy weather, we had a very relaxing time. The staff absolutely make this hotel stand out with their enthusiasm and effort to ease. It was wonderful to be greeted by Lampros, the restaurant manager every day with his jolly greeting of Kalimera and a beaming smile. You can tell all the staff enjoy their jobs and we must give a shout out to the wonderful Kiki who seems to do the job of 3 humans and is on top of everything. The older staff take time to teach the younger students the ways of great hospitality and I only wish they could bottle it and send it to the UK! A big thank you to Head Chef George (Black Hat) and his team who provided a beautiful array of food every day. Sometimes the behind the scenes team are forgotten, like the people who spend hours chopping and preparing so everything looks mouth wateringly delicious or Prince who constantly replenishes everything as it is running low and the young lady bringing out clean plates. We appreciated you ALL. We used the A La Carte restaurant (Anassa) twice and were blown away with the exceptional quality of the dishes. The co owner (also called George) was a delight to speak to and he was able to give fabulous recommendations, having tried everything on the menu himself. We do hope he remains at the hotel for many years to come. We chose to book a room without a private pool as we have found these to be quite chilly towards the end of the season in the past. Our room was perfectly adequate with a side sea view and a balcony to sit out on an evening. The toiletries provided smell beautiful and had I known this previously I would not have needed to bring shampoo or conditioner or body lotion and shower gel. Robes and slippers were provided as well as beach towels and a huge rafia beach bag to carry everything. The room was kept clean although underneath the bed was very dirty with hair and fluff. We had a few issues with items not replenished each day like tea bags, milk, water and one day no towels but these were rectified each time. Maybe the housekeeping staff need a check list to ensure they have done everything. We found the remote control pad for the lights and curtains to have a mind of its own and the curtains randomly opening and closing during the night and the fan switching on by itself. Not sure if it was malfunctioning but we did mention it. We would have been happy with a good old fashioned light switch and to pull our own curtains! There are plenty of sunbeds and it was wonderful not to see people bagging them with towels before breakfast. We found some nice sunbeds in the garden area but close by the beach bar where you can order drinks and food. Sadly, the storms earlier in the month had caused considerable damage to the beach, particularly further down where the path had been eroded. A lot of stones have been thrown up so beach shoes were required but this did not detract from the view or the ambient surroundings. The gardens could do with a good tidy up. Not sure if it was because the hotel is closing in 12 days for winter but there were lots of weeds and dead shrubs. It is still getting established so hopefully will improve next year. There are small shops, restaurants and coffee bars within a 10 minute walk of the hotel where you can buy items but to be honest we felt the hotel was good value for money considering your surroundings. We opted for half board and found this to be an excellent choice on this occasion . The hotel has only been open for 2 seasons and there isn’t a huge amount to choose from locally at the moment. Maybe one or 2 tavernas so staying within the hotel suited our need on thus occasion, especially with the level of service we had.
