Village Heights Resort

We stayed here in August 2025 as a family of 3 and a family of 4. The resort is beautiful set up in the mountains. It isn’t near any amenities but this wasn’t an issue as there was a regular shuttle bus - we used this to take trips to the Beach Club, down to the town of Hersonissos and also into the nearby old town and villages. We also booked an amazing boat trip to Spinalonga through the hotel. The resort is very spread out and we were probably an 6-8 minute walk apart as 2 families but the resort was lovely to walk through and we had the choice of 2 large pools, one near us and one near the other family in our group. There were always plenty of sun beds and as a group of 7 we never had a problem. The rooms were adequate but not luxurious. They were clean and we received wine which was a nice touch. Our room was down a very steep hill but buggies were available if needed. We didn’t mind the walk to walk off the buffet! The restaurant was faultless, particularly the waiting staff who were ALL amazing and so friendly. A shout out to the barman (whose name I can,t remember) for the great pre dinner cocktails and service! We were half board so ate in the buffet restaurant - everything was delicious and there was a good variety and rotation of different cuisines. We did get invited to dine in the à la carte restaurant one night too, which was absolutely delicious with amazing views! We would like to particularly mention George and Stefanos who, whether it was making sure we had our favourite table to keeping the wine flowing, made us feel like VIPs every night! All in all a fabulous holiday!

A lovely apartment, great staff, a superb swimming and pool area. Lots of chairs and a very clean pool. You need a car. It is very far distant from other places.

This is a high class resort with excellent staff and a wonderful location. Beautiful gardens, clean and tidy, helpful staff, well kept pools and welcoming restaurants and bars. Free bus to town and very warm atmoshere.

Let me start to say that we were invited to stay here by family. We visited Crete before in different places and loved the Cretans in all places we’ve been. Incredibly hospitable and with kindness as the main value, instead of making maximum profit out of tourists. But this resort is a different world. The staff is just as friendly as everywhere; lovely Cretan people. But the Greek coffee is suddenly €4.- instead of the normal €1,50. A bit further up the road I can have a dinner with my family of 4 for €50,-. Here I can pay double for the same meals. No Greek music at the pools, but the feeling of a clothing shop with some kind of dance music. If you stay here, you don’t want to visit Crete, but you like to move the urban world of Western Europe to the climate of Crete. Voila. I hope the people who choose this resort will leave the place a lot to find the true beauty of Cretan nature and culture. It will save you a lot of money too.

Village Heights Resort is the kind of place where you instantly feel on holiday. The whole atmosphere has that relaxed vacation vibe, and everything is designed to make you disconnect. The food was definitely the highlight for us – varied, fresh, and really tasty, with enough options to keep things exciting every day. The facilities are also excellent: spacious pools, clean and well-kept areas, and plenty of space to just unwind. Overall, it’s a resort that balances comfort, quality, and a laid-back atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place to relax, eat well, and enjoy a genuine holiday mood, this is a great choice.
