Mitsis Alexander the Great

I would like to share my impressions of our stay at this hotel. We were a group of five adults. The sea was wonderful, and the beach itself was very clean. There were sun loungers and umbrellas available, as well as separate relaxation areas with sofas and tables. The beach was only about a 3-minute walk downhill from the hotel. There was also a golf car service that regularly transported guests up and down the hill. Our room had everything we needed and was very clean. Housekeeping was done every day. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The only thing missing was an iron. When we asked at reception, we were told that irons are not provided in the rooms for safety reasons. Every day there were different activities available, including yoga, aqua fitness, stretching, core training, and more. The hotel also has basketball and tennis courts. At the evening, live musicians performed at one of the bars, creating an amazing atmosphere. We absolutely loved it! 😍 The variety of food at the restaurant was impressive. There was always something new to try every day. The selection included various side dishes, cheeses, meat, fish, seafood, plenty of vegetables, different fruits and desserts. Overall, there was so much choice that it was hard to decide what to try first! There were several bars on the hotel territory: one on the beach, one by the pool, and another with a terrace that works during the evening. The staff ☺️ Honestly, I don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful they were. Everyone was incredibly polite, friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. There was a receptionist named Agapi who greeted guests every day in the restaurant with such a warm smile. Seeing her instantly lifted everyone’s mood. Five stars just for her smile 💙 I unfortunately don’t know the name of the receptionist who checked us in when we arrived around midnight, but he was also extremely kind and welcoming. In fact, the entire staff was amazing. In the restaurant, tables were cleaned quickly and efficiently. Whenever there was an issue, you could simply ask for help and it would be resolved. The bar staff were also very friendly. The cleanliness was a priority, as staff were constantly maintaining and cleaning. The hotel territory itself is beautiful, with many flowers and plants that add a special charm to the atmosphere. Overall, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire hotel team. You are truly the best! 💙

This was a late minute booking that we booked with TUI The four star hotel was excellent we had a fourth floor room in the main block with a great view of the ocean. The bathroom is fine The staff are amazing friendly and helpful the beach is brilliant but it can be a steep walk however they do run a shuttle buggy at regular intervals The food is plentiful but the same most days with some variations. There is entertainment every night and a shop for those missing items They are going to completely refurbish the hotel over the next year and turn it into a five star hotel

I've just come back from 10 days holiday. We had 2 twin rooms. It's very difficult to rate this hotel. I will start with good things. That was our first time in the mainland, usually we are going to islands ( Corfu, Zakynthos,Crete,Kos or Rhodes). We have had some experience. My priority was the beach. And I will be honest, beach is amazing. Crystal clear water,sandy beach, very good quality of the sunbeds ( sunbeds are for free). WiFi works fine on the beach and it's for free as well. There is no proper beach bar,all drinks are bottled and good quality like beer or lemonade,soda etc. no coffee. If you want coffee or other alcoholic drinks you need to go to the pool bar. Which is about 100 m from the hotel up the hill. However, hotel provides a lift so it's good for disabled people, seniors or children. This hotel provides beach towels free of charge, you can replace them everyday. The good thing is there is no chance to leave a towel on the sunbeds and to disappear for hours. Staff always remove towels and make a space for people who really need it. Pool is small but trust me you would not want to be there very often with this beautiful beach. There is a lifeguard on the pool till 18.00. Bad thing is there is not enough umbrellas on the pool. Service is very good, people friendly with good level of English. Mostly the young hardworking people. No issues. This hotel looks amazing outside,nice garden,well maintained. There is also small mini market with reasonable prices. An disadvantage is no walkways if you want to go to Kriophigi for example but the hotel can call a taxi for you. We paid 5€ . Don't use ATM, charged me 6€ for the transaction. Hotel rooms need some renovation, but are clean,with big balcony. The biggest issue in this hotel is food, unfortunately. This is absolutely red flag for me. Really bad quality of the food and not much choice. Most of the time, there was a chicken, potatoes, some roasted vegetables and pasta. Moussaka once in 10 days, Lasagne 2 times, chicken gyros once. Sometimes, the food was really uneatable, chunky and tasted like cardboard. This hotel is not a taste of Greece. I have a feeling that only beach and people who work there are adding value to this hotel and its high rating. Do I come back to this hotel? Definitely not with that food quality.

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely week at Alexander the Great. The hotel is in a state of transition but this did not spoil our enjoyment in anyway. The beach area is almost complete and the stylish hammocks and sunbeds compliment the stunning beach and turquoise sea. Sadly the funicular railway is under maintenance but there are regular buggies to take you to and from the beach. The hotel's location is its strength. The view across the sea to Sithonia is stunning. The staff are amazing, invariably polite and helpful and special mention must be made of Anastasia, who makes the best coffee, and Olga, two ladies whose smiles brightened our stay. The hotel has a lot going for it and once fully renovated should be truly amazing.

The location, the people, and the near by towns were so great and the food outside the hotel (especially the Gyros) was so fantastic; overall I had an amazing experience. The hotel had a homely atmosphere with lots of greenery within the hotel site. The beach was perfect and located straight down the hill off the hotel. The only let down I experienced during my stay was the promised taste of amazing food; unfortunately the food was terrible. The salad was great, the breakfast was great however, the main course dishes were very bland and the meat was tough at times as the fork had to bounce off the chicken legs, and the pork was so tasteless. But the local cuisine in town was so tasty and I did manage to enjoy several courses at the A La Carte restaurant located in the hotel. The reception staff and hotel manager were incredibly welcoming and provided me with speedy assistance with my requests.
