Sani Dunes

I would highly recommend this Hotel. The location is perfect and has 25 restaurants to choose from with 5 Hotels with views of the sea. Mary on reception was exceptional from start to finish. Everything was seamless and we relaxed to the maximum. We stayed in the newest resort Sani Dunes which was just perfect for us. We’ll definitely be booking again (for longer). Thanks to all the staff.

Philoxenia (φιλοξενία) is the ancient Greek tradition of hospitality, literally translating to “friend to a stranger,” and nowhere have we felt this more genuinely than at Sani Dunes. From the very first moment, this philosophy was clearly embodied by the General Manager and the entire team. Our arrival set the tone for the whole stay. We were warmly welcomed in the lobby by the hotel manager himself, Nikos Ouzonis, and greeted with a glass of champagne (or a drink of our choice). This personal touch made an immediate and lasting impression and spoke volumes about the pride and presence of the management at Sani Dunes. We chose a Grande Balcony Room, which was absolutely the right decision for us. The setup was perfect, with a wonderfully spacious balcony that became our favourite spot for afternoon sundowners. It felt indulgent, serene, and beautifully designed. A special mention must go to Meropi, Guest Relations Concierge. Warm, engaging and truly a shower of light, she consistently went above and beyond, making us feel seen, valued and genuinely cared for. One thing that truly stood out throughout our stay was that the exceptional service at Sani Dunes is a complete team effort. Every interaction felt sincere, thoughtful and effortless. Even though we regretfully do not know her name, we will never forget the housemaid who chased us in the rain insisting we take her umbrella. That single moment perfectly summed up the ethos here — nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast each morning was a perfect way to begin the day, whether enjoyed at The Market or The Beach House. Both venues offered relaxed yet elegant settings, and we particularly loved the variety and quality of the menu choices. It was a wonderful start to every morning and set the tone for the day ahead. The staff across the resort were exceptional. Siampenett, a Kurdish/Greek waiter at the Pines restaurant in his very first season, shone with his wonderful personality and infectious positivity. His genuine attitude towards life made every interaction memorable — well done to the Sani team for recruiting such outstanding individuals. Having visited all of the Ikos resorts over the past eight years and being extremely loyal to the Ikos brand, it was time for us to finally experience Sani. While both brands offer excellence, there was a noticeable difference at Sani Dunes in the visible and proud presence of the General Manager within his hotel. This was especially evident in the unforgettable send‑off at the end of our stay, when the management team and staff gathered to wave us goodbye. It was heartfelt, personal and deeply touching. Dining was a highlight throughout. The à la carte Frescos restaurant gifted us lifelong memories — exceptional food quality, breathtaking sunset views and an excellent wine selection. The lemon meringue dessert, wheeled out on a trolley with elegance and grace, was a beautiful piece of theatre in itself. Our favourite lunchtime venue was The Ouzerie, with its ocean views, crisp white furniture and traditional blue‑and‑white tablecloths. On a future visit, we would absolutely choose this for an à la carte evening meal. Getting around the resort was effortless, with Volvo transfers between areas along the main road, and buggies always available when needed. The marina setting was stunning, and we enjoyed a two‑hour daytime trip on the Sunday Ship. While the weather didn’t allow for swimming on this occasion, it was still a lovely experience. We loved the Sea You Bar for sundowners and really enjoyed the DJ sessions across different bars and restaurants, clearly advertised on the daily flyer delivered via WhatsApp or available at breakfast. We also embraced the activities — the treetop adventure was brilliant (even as two adults in our fifties who worried we might be too old — we weren’t!), and hiring bikes to explore the Sani bike trails was a fantastic way to discover the resort. Sani Dunes delivers luxury with warmth, elegance with sincerity, and hospitality in its purest Greek sense. When can we return?

We had a wonderful stay at Sani Dunes and would definitely come back. Staff are amazing, food was all delightful and hotel was immaculate. We was given a complimentary room upgrade which was lovely. Atmosphere is calming and welcoming.

From being welcomed on arrival by our fabulous concierge Athanasia to seeing our amazing suite everything was just wonderful. We stayed at Dunes which was beautiful and central to the rest of the resort. The cleanliness of this resort is second to none, the staff are so polite and cannot do enough for you, Athanasia met up with us everyday to ensure we were happy with everything. The restaurants are amazing and so much choice the only feedback I would give is the Dine around menu is a little limited but saying that we enjoyed the food immensely. This resort has a magical feel to it from the sunsets on the Beach to the beautiful Marina it is truly a wonderful resort.

The check-in was a great start to our holiday. No waiting at reception. Our car and bags were taken as soon as we arrived. Maria from guest services invited us to sit down and have a drink while she completed check-in for us. It was a perfect start and better than any other hotel we have stayed in. The hotel rooms are lovely. We stopped in a room with a private garden and a Junior suite for the last 4 days. The extra space and enormous bath in the Junior suite was a real bonus. Maria from guest services was amazing making you feel like you were the most important guest in the hotel. I did notice she was doing that with a lot of the guests constantly on the go making sure that guests were happy. The waiters and waitress also made you feel so welcome. Always smiling and helpful. They work long hours but they never let it show. The management should be proud of them all. Last but not leass , thank you to the cleaners. They are brilliant. One last big thank you again to Maria.
