TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess

We came here for 7 nights on the 9th of July, we leave tomorrow and I actually cannot wait to go home. While the hotel itself is well kept and clean and tidy and the rooms and private pools are nice and comfortable I dont rate anything else about it. The food and drinks: The buffet restaurant I didnt find a problem with for the first couple of nights but then you realise its all just the same food but in a different sauce (one night it will be beef in gravy and the next it will be beef in red wine, same with the pork dishes) . Most dishes available don't 'go together' , last night the food was actually horrible and we all came away still hungry. There is only so much salad you can eat. We tried the bookable restaurant 'The Taverna' and while the food was better it still wasnt very nice. My starter was over cooked and had gone too hard to even be able to cut never mind chew and the lamb for my main was fatty. We saw people complain and walk out after only receiving their starters. The alcoholic drinks are nothing short of disgusting - cocktails are pre mixed with little to no alcohol content - the beer is flat and tastes horrible and the wines are sour. We have had to buy drinks from the mini market to keep in our room, we found these to be reasonably priced but it completely defeats the fact that you have paid for an all inclusive holiday. Evening entertainment is dismal, either a lady singing cover songs or a man playing a piano. No one looked to be enjoying any of it and there isnt enough seating for everyone. My daughter who is 10 has been to the kids club twice in 5 days and she has enjoyed it but she says it is more for younger children, maybe up to age 7? It says it is suitable for up to age 12 but I dont think that is the case unless your child wants to make a pirates hat and play with loom bands. All in all I think we have paid too much for this holiday seeing as we have to buy our own drinks and food and tonight's dinner will probably be pringles or lays which we have bought from the mini market. The toasties available on the airplane are very appealing to me right now. We will not be returning

Fantastic holiday! Friendly staff, everywhere super clean, great variety of food (I am vegetarian and filled my plate very easily with lovely fresh salads and various hot dishes (always a veggie soup option available too). Always plenty of fresh fruit, bread etc too along with chips, rice, pizza etc always available too. Drinks were absolutely fine - plenty of cocktails on AI too. Pools were very clean and a perfect temperature. Plenty of sunbeds so never had to rush to get one! Evening entertainment was brilliant for young families. Our 3 and 5 year old had a ball. The whole team put in so much effort to make all the shows fun and interactive. The Kids Club staff we met were also great. Room was cleaned efficiently and to a high standard every day. Lovely beach a few steps away with a beautifully clear and calm stretch of the Aegean (tip: beach shoes are a must as the ground is shingle / shale and getting in and out of the sea is rather painful on the soles of your feet! I bought some in the hotel shop for €12 - also available at Aldi for £3.99 now you know they’re needed!) Each to their own, but I am a fussy traveller and found the hotel to be brilliant! I was a little worried after reading some of the negative reviews a few days before we went but thankfully none of the issues complained about became apparent for us. There are much better hotels out there, I would recommend going somewhere else. I’ve always been a TUI fan as you know what you’re getting and when travelling with a child, that is helpful. However, I was bitterly disappointed with this hotel. We’ve been before, my daughter was younger then and it was a few years ago, but it’s a shame to say that it’s gone downhill massively. You are in the middle of nowhere, which I don’t think I noticed when she was really young, but now as she’s a teenager we want to go out and about but it’s not possible here. The details are misleading on the website saying it’s 500m from shops and bars. It needs to be changed in brochures and on the website. Luckily we did the excursion to Pafitos, twice, in order to go out at night. Hire a car, or book somewhere taxis or buses are easy and cheap. The food is awful. Just awful. I agree with the other comments on here. I am not a fussy eater. It really feels like a canteen in the main restaurant, more so than other TUI blue hotels we’ve been to. Breakfast is pretty standard, although no fresh omelettes and the choice of fresh fruit is limited. But dinner is terrible. Food and atmosphere. They insist on keeping all the glass doors/windows shut but the aircon doesn’t seem to work well and it’s the only place I’ve ever been to that doesn’t offer al fresco dining in the evening. I get that some people like to be indoors but I don’t, last time we came here the glass was open so I don’t understand the change and I think it really affects the noise and atmosphere. The restaurant manager is extremely rude if you complain. I found her highly disrespectful and even though I don’t speak Greek very well, I did hear her talking badly about me to two other employees because I had complained about no fresh air in the restaurant and my daughter who was unwell needing some food in the room, to which I was told no, even though all other snack bars were closed and there is no supermarket nearby. This is unacceptable service. The food at the taverna as part of the al a carte bookings was much better, although, again, most of the glass was closed so all the diners were sweating and it was too hot to sit comfortably. It would have been cooler with the glass open given the breeze from the sea. People were having to leave their table to stand outside so they could cool down. You also have to pay for all decent cocktails so I’m not entirely sure what your ‘all inclusive’ gets you these days as you even have to serve your own drinks in the restaurant in the evening and at lunchtime in the taverna too. I think this hotel is compromising on quality and service due to rising costs. It’s such a shame . I normally have to worry about putting weight on when I’m on holiday, I think this time I’ll go back slimmer than when I arrived 🤣 We had a private pool with our room which was a good size compared to others we’ve paid for in similar hotels so that’s a positive. Rooms need a lick of paint, but overall are clean and the beds are comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. We made the most of it, and I’d recommend going to Afitos by night if you can get an excursion. It’s worth it for the atmosphere and traditional Greek restaurants and shops. Best meals we had all week! TUI - revisit the rating of this hotel Blue Lagoon Princess - Do better.

We have just finished our 2 week stay, it has been nice but definitely not a 5* all inclusive hotel. Positive points - Well maintained grounds - Multiple clean pools to choose from - TUI reps fun, helpful and engaging - Some staff in restaurants friendly and welcoming - Nice beach with calm sea which is great for children - Well stocked mini market and beautiful boutique shop - Comfortable beds and sound proofed rooms - Gluten and dairy free waffles and pancakes from the snack bar Negative points - All inclusive drinks are hideous from all bars and restaurants - Food options are repetitive and often not edible, kids section is awful and food is hard - The cleaners for the rooms are awful and often leave dirty mugs, beds not made properly, floors not swept properly and dirt pushed under desk area, my pyjamas were often thrown over the plug sockets - The only snacks on offer are beige sugary snacks or pastries and if you want anything else you have to purchase from the on site mini market - The entertainment staff are great but the entertainment is repetitive, runs on a weekly rotation which isn’t great if you are staying for longer than 7 nights - One of the life guards is rude and often blows his whistle loudly in small children’s faces making them upset - No aircon or fans in the restaurants making them uncomfortable to sit in most afternoons/evenings We have had a pleasant stay but lots of things need attention and I’m sad to say we wouldn’t return to this hotel or any other TUI hotels.

We are just finishing our last night here at this amazing hotel! We have never done a TUI blue hotel but I would definitely book again! We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and it’s been the most amazing trip! We have stayed for 11 nights and I feel emotional having to leave usually im ready to leave after a week! The staff deliver a 5 star experience in every aspect from the hotel room, hotel services, restaurant and bar staff and the entertainment team! It’s clean, food is enjoyable and there is a wide range of drinks! I have to give a special shout out to the entertainment team who made the trip so special for us and our babies! They put a show on tonight through the decades and superstar DJ and it’s a show you do not want to miss so fun and so many memories created! Special shout out to all the night time staff and the day time activities my children loved you all! Andre, love, Jenny, Sophia and I think Jo who had blonde hair and wore pig tails my little boy assures me this is her name but you were all absolutely fantastic and deserve a medal! You’re so caring and committed to everyone’s experience thank you for making our holiday! Sarah the swim coach absolutely brilliant had our little boy diving and swimming with no aids she was amazing and built so much confidence for our boy in the water! Highly recommended this hotel to everyone who’s asked 🩷
