TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess

We’ve just returned from a 2 week stay at the hotel. I can honestly say we have loved it. After reading some of the reviews I can agree on some of the areas. Here are my honest thought's; The hotel is huge!! There is so much to see and do. The grounds were beautifully kept and if you don’t want to walk around to places, there are golf buggies to take you to the different places, but we didn’t use them as we liked to walk and see the surroundings. Location- it does feel a little remote, but there is a Greek restaurant in walking distance from the hotel, right next to supermarket. This supermarket is cheaper than the onsite one and used this a few times during our stay. We did go into Kos via a taxi there and a bus back. Taxis can be hit and miss and are quite costly at €15 one way. The bus ride back was only 5 euros for 2 adults 1 child. It isn’t far away at all- approx 10 minutes. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. Food- we found the restaurant near the pool a free for all at all meal time’s and we didn’t enjoy this one as much as the other Buffett restaurant. Both served pretty much the same food at. Breakfast and evening but it’s alot more spaced out which didn’t feel over crowded. This isn’t the hotels fault, just the lack of manners and courtesy of other guests! Some nights were better than others for food options, but we didn’t starve and always found something. A nice little bonus is the crepe station near the pool. Drinks- I do agree that the drink options were hit and miss. Again, we always found something but it wasn’t the best. Pool area- now the summer holidays are here, the hotel is very busy. Sun beds were often snapped up by early morning, which did mean getting up abit earlier to get beds together. The pool is a fab size, lovely temperature in the red hot sun. The hotel is across the road from the beach so there was a constant breeze which was welcomed. Rooms- We didn’t spend much time in the room so it was adequate for what we needed. Entertainment- as a family of 3 (daughter aged 7) this was amazing. From exercise classes in the pool, music playing around the pool during the day to the kids club. The entertainment team were incredible. The kids disco was also fun (even if we did hear the same songs most nights 😂) it didn’t bother us as our daughter and all the other kids were so involved loving it. The night time shows were a joy watch. Professional dancers and singers- put so much effort in, we loved all of them. The entertainment team make an effort to come and speak to you and they are brilliant with the kids. A mention to the entertaining To-To (because he asked us too 😂) you cannot help but smile at his infectious sense of humour. Everyone of the team played a part in making some fabulous memories. Would I recommend this hotel to family and friends- yes!! Absolutely.

The hotel grounds and pools are lovely, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended for us. The food was consistently poor throughout our stay. Despite TUI advertising live cooking, there wasn’t any. Buffets were repetitive, with lukewarm food, meat in sauce,overcooked fish and very little variety. On several evenings we struggled to find anything appetising and ended up making cheese toasties. The Taverna restaurant was particularly disappointing. Five of us ordered chicken breast, which arrived well after everyone else’s meals. It was pale, dry, chewy and served with equally dry chips. None of the meals were eaten, and no member of staff asked if there was a problem or offered an alternative. Our room also fell well below the standard expected of a five-star hotel. Housekeeping was poor, with dirty floors, coffee stains left on furniture, cobwebs in corners and towels that were old and threadbare. The bathroom flooded every time we showered due to the poorly designed shower screen, creating a slip hazard that reception admitted they were already aware of. Three members of our family became ill during the holiday, with another becoming sick shortly after returning home. While we can’t say what caused it, it was concerning given the consistently lukewarm buffet food. Overall, this hotel simply doesn’t deliver the five-star experience it’s advertised as. It felt like the whole business plan for summer 2026 is ‘cost cutting’ We wouldn’t return or recommend it. *complaint made during the holiday to the TUI Rep in resort, official complaint also sent to TUI when back in the UK. Complaint based on not supplying the advertised holiday.

Cold food at every meal, this fell a long way short of our expectations of a five star experience. We were informed with a smile that multiple pools and a spa were all that’s required to be 5 star in Greece, there is no requirement for standards of service, food temperature etc. In fact we were informed there are devices in each restaurant (microwaves) to heat food to our liking. For us this is a matter of lacking basic food hygiene. We lasted precisely two nights of our ten-night holiday before deciding enough was enough and arranging to move hotels. It was in trying to do exactly that where our encounter with the resort’s rep manager began. Faced with a guest raising a legitimate complaint, the response wasn’t concern, wasn’t an apology, wasn’t even mild interest — it was the unblinking accusation that I was lying about my own dinner. She showed a complete lack of empathy and being told you’re a liar by the one person paid to fix your holiday is not an experience five stars can buy back. We’ve since submitted a formal complaint, though given the standard on display, I won’t be holding my breath. Zero stars, unreservedly, for the individual representing TUI this resort — and for the standard of service she brought to the role

We have just returned from a stay at TUI Blue Lagoon Princess in Halkidiki, and I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel is still marketed as a five-star resort. The biggest disappointment was the food. I had read previous reviews and hoped they were exaggerated, but unfortunately they were spot on. The choice was limited, the food was consistently bland, and after a few days it became very repetitive. For a hotel claiming to be five-star, the dining experience fell well below expectations. You can book into the 2 restaurants, Taverna and Green and Grill but dont expect much better quality in comparison to the buffet. The drinks were equally disappointing. Cocktails, spirits and soft drinks all tasted heavily diluted, making them difficult to enjoy. Another surprise was that there is no table drinks service. Guests are expected to queue and collect all of their own drinks, which is something I simply wouldn’t expect from a luxury five-star resort. The service throughout the hotel reflected a noticeable lack of investment. The staff were generally pleasant enough but seemed rather passive and there was little sense of proactive customer service. Our fridge was broken for most of the holiday. We were told it had been replaced, but it still didn’t work properly and eventually we gave up reporting it. The pool area was another disappointment. The sun loungers were some of the most uncomfortable we’ve ever used—hard, unsupportive and genuinely back-breakingly uncomfortable. Spending a full day by the pool simply wasn’t enjoyable, which is surprising for a resort that’s supposed to offer a luxury holiday. Several families we met had visited this hotel in previous years, and every one of them commented on how much standards have declined. They spoke about significant cutbacks to both service and quality, and having experienced it ourselves, it was obvious. It really does feel as though costs have been cut at the expense of the guest experience. Another baffling decision was the pool curfew. At 6pm, while the sun was still shining and families were still enjoying themselves, everyone was ushered out of the pool areas. It genuinely felt like being back at school rather than relaxing on holiday. The evening entertainment wasn’t much better. The children’s entertainment is run by TUI rather than the hotel, and while our children were happy enough to go along, it only lasted for around an hour before finishing. Afterwards there was usually a singer who clearly tried their best, but unfortunately the performances were well below the standard you would expect and often felt awkward to watch. My husband moved a bit of furniture so that we could sit by other guests we met on the holiday, and a member of staff rudely shouted at him declaring the furniture must stay in the same place and cannot be moved. Again, felt like school rather than being treated like adults on holiday. If you’re considering staying here, also believe the reviews about the location. There is effectively nowhere to walk to outside the hotel. The nearest town or area with restaurants, bars or shops is around a 40-minute taxi ride away. The beach is pleasant enough, but certainly not worth making a special journey for. What also felt unreasonable was that the water park, located at the neighbouring sister hotel and easily accessible from Lagoon Princess, costs extra to use. Given the obvious reductions in service and quality elsewhere, charging guests an additional fee for what feels like part of the same resort is difficult to justify. The TUI staff were friendly, and the kids’ club was perfectly adequate. Our children didn’t mind going, but it certainly wasn’t a standout feature of the holiday. Overall, we’ve stayed in genuine four-star hotels that offered far better food, service and facilities than this. Had this been advertised as a four-star hotel, our expectations would have been very different. Marketing it as a five-star resort is simply misleading, and based on our experience, we would not return.

we were so excited to finally be at the hotel, when we went for our evening meal we noticed changes from the previous 4 years straightaway, people used to find a table and staff would come and take our drinks order this time we had to que up to get our own drinks, we went to the food stations to find all the meat dishes were in some type of sauce not a single piece of plain grilled meat as all the previous years where every evening there was a plain meat option, even during our stay the special meat trolly never came out, we hoped this was just a one off but unfortunately this wasn't the case in the whole of our stay plain grilled meat was only served literally once? as for the vegetables if there was one? it was either broccoli mush over cooked or corn on the cob which was that hard it couldn't be eaten it looked like the dried corn you can buy for a parrot, the potato wedges were swimming in a lot of oil, after our 3rd day i actually got my food off the children's section, the fish fingers were grey inside, while on the subject of food, the fresh fruit has become more basic, ie no fresh pineapple no figs or grapes. in in the morning we were feeling a bit more opermistic but that was short lived, Breakfast wasn't better as far as the egg station isn't there so you cant have poached egg or a personalised omelette, they do a plain omelette which is pre made in a bowl?, this is supposed to be 5* hotel which 5* hotel doesn’t have an egg station? we used our 2 free evening meals 1 at the green grill and 1 at the taverna which was lovely we tried to book in there again even if we had to pay but no availability.. Outside our room 2 new metal ramps have been installed since September, the hotel use golf buggies to get around and to drop off new towels and bedding to the different blocks unfortunately this was our 6.45am alarm as they drove over them, they were obviously told to drive over them slowly which prolonged the noise.
