Apollon Windmill

Reception little information given unless asked for. Welcome pack, basic. No available rep for the 10 nights we were there. Lack lustre restaurant experience. Almost empty most evenings Meals over salted, poor quality. Waiter service, slow. Asked about using the sister hotel restaurant & was told we could not. Mixed information given, we were told at the end of the holiday we could infact use it. We paid for half board but ended up paying to eat out. False advertising, miss information & lack of communication. Very disappointing indeed. Will not be returning to this hotel

Took a gamble based on previous reviews, big mistake. Plus points: cleanliness, quiet, good wifi, comfortable beds (apart from dormitory style lack of top cover and cheap pillows). No privacy on room terrace and little sun if you are located on the wrong side of the terrace rooms. "Boutique" elements missing: Style, bland to the point of clinical (zero personality) underscored by cheap toiletries from wall mounted dispensers in rooms, no spoons and plastic cups and saucers. Theme, there isn't one, whether culinary, colour scheme, local art, not even a nod to the windmill from which it takes it's name. Service: the cleaners are exceptional, otherwise perfunctory at best. Breakfast was mediocre (Kool Aid is not orange juice), evening meal selection worse,asked for a wine menu and were informed that we could have "red or white" (local wine retailing locally for 1 Euro sold at 7 Euros a glass). You can get away with a limited menu if the food is outstanding, unfortunately it mirrored the blandness of the hotel itself. A previous reviewer had noted that food quality was poor compared to previous stays so assume management have had a negative impact.

We chose the Apollon Windmill Hotel as it was adults only and looked a modern deisgn. Rooms internally were good and cleaned every day. We booked B+B which had quite an extentsive buffet, catering for all requirements. However the availabiliy of restaurants close to the hotel for evening meals was somewhat limited. Staff were friendly and polite. Lovely pool area with good availability of sunbeds and excellent lunches available. Unfortunately the room we were allocated was lower ground floor and had sandbags across the entrance pathway which was a trip hazzard especially in the dark. We also had a problem with the door lock and being lower ground floor it was permanently in the shade. We reported this to the Receptionist (Cindy) and explained our disappointment. She was very understanding and asked us to call back and see her the next morning. This we did and Cindy was very helpful and able to provide us with an alternative room which was amazing and made the holiday. Thank you Cindy. We enjoyed hiring bicycles at 5 euros a day in order to ride down to the harbour and Kos Old Town which we did regularly. We had a most enjoyable holiday.

Just come back from the apollon windmill hotel .The room we had was on the first floor with a balcony and a side view of the pool .The room was spacius .beds comfortable and nice bathroom .The hotel itself was very clean and the staff very friendly .We went b.and b. Breakfast was okay a little dissapointed in the fact that the hot plates and pots didnt seem to keep things hot .warm at best .overall we enjoyed our stay.

My daughter and I have just returned from a four night break at the Apollon Windmill Hotel. We were gutted that we didn’t book for longer and didn’t want to leave! We can’t fault anything about it. All the staff that we met were lovely. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. There was a great choice of food at breakfast. We had lunch by the pool each day at the hotel and this was fabulous too. The lady who looked after us (sorry didn’t get her name) was really attentive and even remembered our order by day three! Our room (221) was next to the pool and had a beautiful terrace with lovely sun loungers. It was cleaned everyday and was immaculate with fresh towels and bedding. No fighting or reserving sun loungers by the pool, which is always a bonus. A perfect hotel and a perfect, relaxing stay!!! Will definitely return.
