    Excepțional

The overall excellence of the hotel and its wonderful team will be always bring a smile to my face. The accommodation was fantastic, backed up by the housekeeping staff who kept the hotel, grounds and our room (124) completely spotless. The front of house team - Edyta, Eva, Maria, Grigoris & Richard etc were so welcoming, friendly and efficient from the time we arrived & made check -in entirely stress free. They made our holiday that extra bit special! (Thank-You) The entertainment staff brought high spirits, & enthusiasm to the daily activities & evening shows. I believed they spoke to everyone there to make them feel included. To top it all off the food was consistently good with a great selection on offer at every meal. We couldn't have asked for a better value for money and holiday experience would highly recommend this hotel!

    Foarte bun

Honest & Fair Review 4 adults / 2 rooms 23/09/2026 – 01/10/2026 We have just returned from a week at the Atlantica Thalassa in Kos. Overall a lovely stay but in our opinion, some basic changes would make a HUGE positive difference to our experience and make this hotel meet it’s true star rating. LOCATION The hotel is on a long stretch of road on the beach front, out of the town, We are in all in our early 30’s so walked to town most days, which took around 30 mins, it’s a nice flat walk and easy to find (but this should be considered if you are not able to walk very far) we would either walk back, or use the Hoppy Scooters dotted about everywhere, and you can ride them right back to the hotel as it one of the designated parking points for them. From the town back to hotel cost around 5 euro each. Spoilt for choice for Taverners in the town, from English, Greek and there is even a Chinese restaurant too. Loads of shops and places to rent quads, bikes, cars. Keep going to the end of the town you will find a lovely marina with cafes, shops, and historical buildings and ruins. ROOMS Firstly, the rooms are decorated beautifully, nude colours, super comfy and huge beds, with good size Balcony, we had a ‘garden view’ up into the hills. Rooms were spotless, good quality bedding and towels, and towels changed as often as you needed them. Good sized fridge and safe too. A couple of small points for us, the door into the bathroom is frosted glass and not a proper door, we have been together for 14 years so are not shy, but for anyone maybe sharing a room with a friend or newer partner, be prepared for no privacy. No mirror at the dressing table, so I found my self sitting on the floor by the full-length mirror instead, not a problem, but a small mirror on the dressing table would have made the rooms 10/10 for us. We arrived late at about 12.20am, and the hotel had thoughtfully put together a bag of snacks and sandwiches for us, which after travelling was gratefully received and a nice touch. FOOD AND DINING The actual food is great, with LOADS of variety for breakfast, lunch, and evening meals. There is something for everyone, every day, various meats, veggies, salads, soups, desserts, and fruits. Anyone saying the food was samey on here, I have no idea what you are talking about. Aswell as lunch in the main dining area every day, they also have a snack bar by the pool which serves fresh Gyros every day 12.30-5, along with burgers, hot dogs, cakes, and fruit. For us, we felt the actual environment of the main dining area let this hotel down, compared to the rest of the hotel we thought it felt very canteen like, with plastic chairs and tables were not in keeping with the rest of the hotels décor at all, The rest of the hotels furnishings felt much better quality and boutique. Proper, better quality dining tables and chairs, we feel would make the entire dining experience feel much better and less like a school canteen in our opinion. HOTEL FACILITIES, POOL & ENTERTAINMENT We were disappointed to see sun beds reserved with towels at the crack of dawn despite there being a hotel policy that any towels left on sunbeds before 8am would be removed, this was not the case during our stay, I think this was the biggest issue with the hotel that we came away with, was the lack of lounges around the actual pool, you could fit SO many more around the pool without any overcrowding, people were dragging or carrying sunbeds from the grass area up to the pool and setting up camp, there is ample room round the pool, we cannot understand why there are so little loungers around the pool itself. The loungers around the pool are much, much better quality and comfier than the ones on the grass area, a little bit of money spent to upgrade them all to the pool ones, would make huge difference. The other thing I noticed was there are only parasols around the few pool loungers, no other parasols are provided for the grass area, so you are in the blistering heat all day with no shade, just something to think about if you are cautious in the sun. The addition of extra parasols would have been much appreciated. Taking into consideration we stayed here at the end of the summer season ‘off peak’ and the loungers around the pool were all taken, it must be a nightmare during the height of summer when the hotel is at 100% capacity. We had read on here before our stay that there is never any trouble getting a lounger, We thought oh great….. this is only the case if you don’t mind being on a sloped grass area which is prone to flooding no shade, and set right back from the pool (hence why these loungers are the only ones left). The pool bar is great, huge selection of all soft, hot drinks and booze. We had booked the A La carte dining, but unfortunately, it was SOOOO windy on the evening we had to cancel, the dining area for this is outside with 0 protection from the weather and it was HAMMERED by the wind, so we were glad we cancelled but disappointed we did not get to try it during our stay. The hotel has a small on site shop; with all the basics you need and reasonably priced too! Evening entertainment in the lobby was actually really good, during our stay there was Greek music, bingo, singing , which were all pretty good to be honest. Daytime actives include Yogo, Pilates, football, volleyball, beer pong, aqua fitness which were all good fun. All the grounds, hotel and pool were spotless, but the pool was FREEZING, as in ICE COLD, during the entire week we spend a max of 10 minutes in the pool it was actually unbearable, this was disappointing as we usually spend a huge amount of time in the pool on our holidays swimming and on floaties, there was only 1 or 2 other people who braved it for a matter of minutes for the duration of our stay, the pool showers were warmer so when we got too hot in the sun and needed to cool off we found ourselves jumping under the showers rather then the pool. In all the countries we have visited and hotels we have stayed in I have never known a pool so cold. We could here people mentioning it all week, It was quiet entertaining watching new arrivals dips their toes in, thinking they would be going for a lovely swim, then reversing out straight away. BEACH The hotel has it’s own private section of the beach at the end of the driveway, during our stay there was not a soul on the beach, it was incredibly windy which made it unusable and the sea was dangerously choppy, having said that I am sure during calmer weather it is lovely down there, the hotel cannot help the weather, but maybe something to consider if you love days at the beach, we had hoped to have spent some time there and get in the water (because the pool was so cold) but the wind on the beach was relentless during our stay which was unfortunate, but just one of those things. The beach itself was a mix of shingle and sand, nice loungers with straw parasols, but the beach had quite a bit of litter and couple dried up dead birds, but we understand due to the wind perhaps it had not been cleaned as often as normal, loungers are 4 euros for the day on the beach, I think you can order food from the hotel to be dropped down but from what we understand this is at an additional charge. STAFF All the staff we met were FAULTLESS, and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and they were all super helpful, and worked their socks off. EXCURSIONS Nothing to do with the hotel I know– but here are the trips and things we have done during our stay which I would 10000000000% recommend. • We booked the 3 islands boat trip and one of the excursions shops in KOS town, we chose the sailboat called the Poseidon, which included lunch at a taverna on one of the islands rather than a BBQ on the boat like the other boats offer, honestly, the best 25 euros I have ever spent. We cannot believe the cost of it really for an entire day out AND lunch included, It’s worth double that easy! We met at the marina at 9am, and set off around 9.30, visited the first island and got a taste of a proper tiny little Greek town, had lunch here in a pretty little Taverna right on the water, which was super tasty and then had a mooch around for half an hour or so, jumped back on the boat and headed to island number 2, where we had 2 hours to mooch around the shops I bought some delicious local honey for 5 euros, and some other souvenirs and the little cove beach was lovely, I think I heard the captain say only 30 people live there, back on board and off to the last island where we swan in the sea (which ironically was lovely and warm…… nothing like the swimming pool hahaha) water was so clear. Sailed back the marina arriving about 4.30. It was a brilliant day out! • We hired mopeds from around the corner of the hotel at ‘Stevebikes Rentals’ bargain at 40 euros per bike, from 9am to 7pm in the evening, we spent the day scooting round the entire island, stopped for a couple snacks on the way, popped in a huge supermarket, shops and visited some of the better beaches, went up into the hills too, where there are views to die for! Was a great way to see the island and loads of fun! Cost us 8 euro to fill the bike up with fuel before returning it. • We took the ferry over to Bodrum, Turkey for the day, we booked this at the ticket booth at the marina, cost 35 euro per person return. The ticket then needs to be redeemed at the ticket office at the port at the far end of the marina, (something we were not told when we bought them and we very nearly missed the only ferry of the day by the time we worked it out and queued up, the woman at the port was vile to everyone, it was actually really quite shocking to see how she spoke to us and many other people too, everyone was in speechless at her attitude, don’t let this stop you thought, the rest of the trip and day was brill) Make sure you take your passports for this, as you obviously need to go through passport control just like entering through an airport. Bodrum was spotless, the shops are great, you could spend a fortune, all the little streets are covered so no need to worry about the blistering heat! Lots of little beach front cafes to enjoy too, easy to find your way around. SUMMARY Our summary of this hotel is that we do think it just about meets the star rating, and overall we had a lovely holiday, but if a few small changes were made like better seating in the dining area, upgraded sun loungers so they are all the better ones, heating the pool, and rethinking the amount and layout of the loungers around the pool would bump this hotel right up to its actual star rating. It’s the smallest hotel we have ever stayed in, but it is lovely for a quiet and relaxed getaway. I think I would recommend this hotel to friends and family for sure, but for us I don’t think we would stay again purely because our preference is to have a bigger hotel with more than just 1 smaller pool to shoes from, and a better beach, but this is not a reflection of the hotel itself, just purely our personal preference to the size.

Firstly, the hotel is spotlessly clean throughout, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. However, our room was tiny (we couldn't open one of the wardrobe doors because the bedside table was in the way)! Our balcony had a view of the mountains on the horizon but unfortunately it was marred by the builders debris and pile of old pallets just below. You have no chance of finding a sunbed around the pool unless you're prepared to get down there with your towels to reserve your spot before the sun comes up, which means you need to use one of the many 'budget range' beds that are lined up next to each other on the grass. The pool bar was never really busy so it was easy to get a drink, but why on earth they felt it necessary to serve them in tiny paper cups is a mystery. The beach was a five minute walk over the main road, and it did have fantastic views of the wonderful sunsets from the shore. The evening entertainment was great on two nights and just OK on the other five, unless karaoke and bingo is your thing. There's not much to do in the immediate area, but you can hop on a bus and go into Kos town which is only two euros and takes about 10 minutes, or hire a taxi from the hotel for 10 euros. We hired a scooter from Stevesbikes which is 500m up the road, and managed to see most of the island in the day. The food was OK, nothing special and great if you like salads, but we were hoping to see more of a selection of greek options and it did become quite repetitive after a few days. Overall, the entertainment team and wonderful bar staff helped us to enjoy our holiday, but we won't be rushing back as there's many more beautiful islands to explore.
