Blue Lagoon Village

Further to checking into the hotel on the 7th of October 2025, I wish to express my extreme disappointment with both the room we were allocated and the overall standard of service we received during our stay. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of what I would expect from a five-star establishment. As part of a larger group, the receptionist initially suggested that we view the two-bedroom family room since there were five ladies in total. However, we had already paid in full for two deluxe twin rooms with sea views, and upon inspection, it was immediately clear that the family room was not suitable for our group. It offered only one wardrobe, one bathroom, and no sitting area - wholly inadequate for five adults. My daughter, my 85-year-old mother, and I, who were staying for 11 nights, were placed in the a twin room. Given my mother’s age, allocating us a room with a shower located inside a bath, with very limited accessibility, was extremely inconsiderate. A quieter and more accessible room would have been far more appropriate for three adults with no children, yet instead, we were placed in a high-traffic area where people, children, and buggies passed constantly. Two days later we were offered an accessbile room which was immediately apparent that this was a downgrade: it was designed for two adults and one child, with a much smaller balcony (two chairs only), no sitting area, no vanity space, and minimal bathroom storage. By this stage, the entire experience had become quite distressing, and we decided to remain in our original room. It was also clear from the number of vacant rooms across the resort that availability was not an issue, particularly as it was not high season. Sadly, the situation worsened when my mother suffered a serious fall while attempting to get into the bath to use the shower. She injured her ribs, badly cut her knee, and bruised her hand. Thankfully, the first aider on site assisted in cleaning her wounds, and we arranged for painkillers and anti-inflammatories. This incident could have been avoided entirely had we been allocated a room appropriate to her needs. Housekeeping standards were extremely disappointing. We had to call four separate times to have our room sprayed for ants, which was both unpleasant and unhygienic. Despite this, the room was never cleaned properly. Basic amenities such as soap were not replaced, and we repeatedly had to request fresh towels. On one occasion, a visibly dirty towel was folded and left in our room for reuse, behaviour that is simply unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one claiming five-star status. This entire experience caused my elderly mother significant distress, at a time when she had been hoping for a peaceful and restorative holiday. Instead, she was left upset and physically injured, ultimately wishing to return home early for the rest she had intended to find with you. I am sharing this feedback not only out of disappointment but out of genuine concern that no other guests , particularly those with elderly family members, should have to endure such an experience in a hotel of your standing.

This place is amazing! We have a 4 year old and Blue Lagoon was perfect. It is very isolated but we knew this and it was fine. It is so big that you can always try a different place for a drink. We paid for the ‘frontal’ sea view and so were in block 4000 and this was perfect. Easy to nip back to the room at dinner or from the little kids pool. The hotel kids club was fab - they made our son feel very welcome and he loved seeing them around the resort and at the evening entertainment and they would always take the time to speak to him and knew his name which was lovely. Also used the Tui kids club and this was great as well - great to have the option of 2 clubs. Food was great - the buffet restaurant is huge. The italian was lovely. Entertainment was good- it was outdoors as well which was nice and didn’t have to use mosquito spray at all. Live singers in the bar near reception as we,k when you wanted a break from the show. You can call buggies to take you round which is great. The water park is good but wish it was closer to the main resort and there was the same standard of bar there. There’s just a little bar that’s miles away from the kids pool doing beer so if you want a drink and you are on your own, you have to get your kids off the slides and even then, there isn’t all the options of drinks. Much better at the other pools where you have bar service to your lounger! Would definitely return and recommend to anyone who has smaller children. We did the TUI pirate ship excursion which was fab- face Painting bandanas and sword fights!

We got married here last Friday… the last wedding of the season!! We couldn’t have wished for a better lady to help organise our special day we couldn’t big Jasmin the wedding coordinator up anymore! This lady was made for the roll! Down to every last detail she made sure it was perfect! Nothing was a problem we could go to her at anytime with any question or any request she made sure our day was perfect! Thank you so much!

Not worth the money. Poor food/drinks, service, cleanliness and entertainment in comparison to other hotels in the same price class. Trying to keep it short. Very disappointed as we expected way more for this price. Only plus is the location. Evening entertainment done by 22.30, and the shows are done by the animation team, who do not appear to be professional singers and dancers.. it also repeated on a weekly schedule... made the evenings quite boring..

We have just returned from 7 nights at this fabulous hotel and had a fantastic stay. The staff all work incredibly hard to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and are well looked after. We are a family of 4, with two teenagers (age 13 and 16) and we all had a great time. We stayed in a two bedroom swim up room in block 8000 (see image of outside the room). This block is a great location, between the water slides and sports facilities and the main pools, and it feels very modern. The housekeeping and grounds staff also keep it spotlessly clean. There are lots of activities on throughout the day for both adults and juniors. These range from aqua aerobics, darts, football, volleyball etc. My one improvement suggestion here is that, for a 5 star, I felt it was missing the in between teen only activities that we’ve experienced in other chains we’ve visited (H10, Bahia and Holiday Villages). My reason for this was that there were several occasions where the teenagers were asked by the juniors activity lead not to take part in the junior water games because they were too boisterous for the smaller children. Whilst this is completely understandable as they were much bigger, some of them were not really big or strong enough to play safely with the adult men yet. The entertainment team are friendly and work really hard to keep guests busy all day long and they also put on shows each evening. We enjoyed watching the musicals one. If the evening entertainment in the outdoor theatre area isn’t for you, you can also enjoy drinks in two other bar areas (the main one under reception or the outside one near the shop and Italian restaurant). We enjoyed sampling the different cocktails and felt they were much better than the pre-made we’ve experienced in some other all inclusive we’ve stayed at (see images of some of the drinks menu). We enjoyed visiting the Italian, Chinese and Adventure BBQ A la carte restaurants during our stay. These are all included in AI but there is a fourth you can pay to dine in (we didn’t visit this one). You can book these on the app when you arrive. Our family enjoyed the Chinese best. We really enjoyed all the buffet food here and ate in both the Agean and Ocean during our stay. We tended to use the Avra pool restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Our children also enjoyed the crepes and the toasties or hotdogs from the snack bar near the beach. We spent most of our days around the activities pool, as this is also closest to the toilets, food etc. The staff here serve you drinks to your sunbeds and work really hard. You can book the sports activity courts on the app. We played crazy golf, tennis and padel during our stay. However, it’s worth noting that we booked the tennis at night and were charged an unexpected 10 euros to have the lights on to play. It doesn’t mention this when you book on the app so make sure you have the cash. You also have to put down a cash deposit if you want to use their equipment (racquets, golf clubs etc.) This is refundable and the amount is detailed on the app when you book but make sure you have some euros (50 euros for the golf equipment and 100 euros for the padel). Our teens loved the water sports activities on the beach and the team there were really friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious. I’d recommend budgeting for some of these activities if you can (see image of prices). They did the crazy sofa and manta ray with their friends, and myself and my daughter did the parasailing, which was amazing! Tip: As others have mentioned, this hotel is very secluded. This didn’t bother us as there was so much on site to keep us entertained during our stay. However, as we had one day of rain during our stay, we decided to venture out via taxi to Kardamena. The hotel will arrange your outward taxi and it picks you up from reception but, be warned, the taxi rank in Kardamena (only way you can get a return taxi) is a challenge! This is because many people do not know how to queue and push in. Taxis also take a long time to come so we ended up waiting over 45 minutes in the rain and then had the challenge of getting in front of people that had just arrived and tried to push in front. Not really enjoyable or relaxing so I would recommend paying the bit extra for the TUI excursions, where you are guaranteed coach seats, if planning to go off site. Overall, we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel to families.
