We had a lovely stay at Platanista Hotel for Now and would happily recommend it to families looking for a relaxing break. 🛏️ Room Clean and welcoming, with thoughtful amenities like a kettle (tea/coffee provided), a bottle of water on arrival, and a small fridge. The beds were very comfortable—though slightly too soft for our taste. Tv’, safe and ample wardrobe space. The bathroom was modern, with a great shower and complimentary toiletries. 😊 Service All staff were consistently pleasant and polite, which made the experience even more enjoyable. 🏋️ Facilities There’s a small but decent gym available—perfect for a quick workout. 🍽️ Food No issues at all. The buffet was varied and fresh, and each evening featured a different cuisine, which kept things interesting. 🏊 Pool Two pools—one larger than the other—both very clean and never overcrowded, even in August. 🎯 Entertainment The entertainment team was great. My kids especially enjoyed playing boules, darts & water aerobics lots of fun and well-organized as well as the usual work off your breakfast games in the pool. My kids really enjoyed the entertainment team who made them laugh and made their stay feel welcoming. 🧼 Cleanliness Spotless throughout. Rooms were cleaned daily, and sheets changed every other day. Housekeeping was excellent. Only issue here for me were the cats as few running around the hotel. 🏖️ Beach The hotel has a private beach with a volleyball court. It was quiet, even in peak season, but quite stoney with ample sunbeds. There’s potential here—hopefully the hotel invests more in making this area more comfortable and usable. Water sports are available approx. a 5-minute walk from the hotel. 🚍 Transport There’s a bus stop right across the road that goes to Kos Town. However, buses were unreliable and often didn’t follow the timetable. Walking (20 mins) is doable, but in the August heat, hiring a bike or electric scooter (cheap and widely available) is a better option. Taxis were also hit-or-miss unless booked early. Improving transport infrastructure would really benefit guests and the island overall. ✅ Final Verdict Overall, the hotel is a clean, friendly, and relaxing with great food, service, and entertainment. While the beach and transport options could be improved, we had a great time and would recommend the hotel and would like to come back again.

Great Hotel, with good staff you can always Talk to. Nice and clean Rooms just like the whole area. But the Most important is the Entertainment Team ! (Nicknames: Charlie and Joy) Never Met some so nice and funny people on vacation before, they really let you feel like youre at Home and you can always Talk to them and they will always listen and be there for you. They really give their Best to entertain everyone and are doing so much for it. Their Program is great, especially if you Want to try Somerhing new ;). But their Not only great as Entertainment Team, they are really Kind and nice as Person and only want the Best for you. (For Example they helped me to overcome my fear of dancing in Front of others). They are definitely the Most important Part of the whole Hotel. I can only recommend it (Ps.: you should really just start Talking to them ;) )

Unfriendly staff, great food, poor location, Beach ok, access into sea, sandbags that are uneven, not great for children. Entertainment team rubbish!

Just finished a fantastic 10 days at the Platanista and honestly can’t fault it. The entertainment team (Sam, Chante & Joy) really made the holiday for us they made the days so much fun for me & my family playing games each day, and they were never pushy at all - but made the days enjoyable. So massive shout out to all 3 of them for doing such a fantastic job. The rooms were modern & clean and the cleaners did a great job whilst we were there. There was always something nice to eat in the restaurant for brekkie & dinner. The only thing that lets it down is that the beach isn’t the greatest, very rocky so we didn’t manage to get into the sea…. But if you go either towards Kos Town or the opposite directions you’ll find slightly better beaches where it’s easier to swim. Recommended hiring a bike for €5 per day to get around. All the staff we encountered were great.

Its a beautiful hotel and huge ! The staff are all very friendly and the cleaners do a brilliant job. The food is excellent. My only complaint is it cools down quickly so once you load up your plate get it to your table and eat it quickly 😋 if your from the uk you can forget using the big tv set in your room because 99% of the programmes are in german !! We asked reception about it and apparently all they can pick up is a german signal. Only sky news was in English and some cartoon network. Very disappointing. Also if you like to keep fit they have a small gym but the air con is practically non existent . A lady was working out when i was there and commented on how hot it was. I tried to lower the temperature but there was no cool air blowing from the vents. I told reception and the lady just smiled and i knew she wouldn't do anything. The gym was just as hot and stuffy the day after and nobody has bothered to get it working and I've been there nearly a week. Also there was no hand sanitizer in there . I noticed quite a few dispensers are just empty. Including the ones by the lifts. The air con in the rooms is excellent though. You can have your room ice cold if you want. If your young i would definitely hire a bike or scooter because its a fair walk in to the main town. If your elderly its best to catch a bus or try and get a taxi. Trouble is the tui guide said the buses are often packed out and there aren't many taxis on the island so you could be waiting a while. Across the main road is a beach area with sunbeds for guests at the hotel. We were a bit disappointed that the beach is very rocky and has no sand. My mother wanted to paddle but didn't risk it as it would be quite easy to slip and fall in. If you love to sunbathe and swim they have 2 large pools here. Also a tennis court,crazy golf and play area for kids. All in all its a lovely place .the rooms are very large and it will take a day or two to get used to the size of the place and find your way around. I wouldn't come back because there's not that much to do except go for a walk down the main road. You can hire a car, scooter or bike though or book some trips.
