Porto Bello Royal

A beautifully located resort. Very friendly and attentive staff. Fantastic sea views. Great water park on site. Front line suites amazing.

We are just about to leave this hotel after 10 days stay. We came to celebrate a family wedding . Whilst weve had a good time together there is something very important to say so that people are aware before booking . This certainly isn't a 5 star hotel more likely a 3 or 4 . All the members of our large family and friends after discussions are of the same opinion. The good points is that the staff are attentive and very polite , and the main restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner has been fine .all inclusive doesnt adhere to all drinks !! There is a list to show you what is and the choice is limited are very poor ( unless you want it charged to your room ) Beer in this hotel is awful too. The snack bars are extremly poor only seving ice cream nuggets chips and hotdogs ! This was awful and definitely not 5 star . The rooms are dated quite dated ( cleaned daily ) but a lot of our party's rooms were a bit tired looking . They have a greek ,italian and a burger bar which you can book once ( the burger one more than once ) but apart from the italian ( which was ok) they were rubbish the burger bar was simply the worst of the lot. There are a number of swimming pools ( all salt water) they are ok with entertainment around one of the middle pools where we all participated in the water aerobics and water volley ball. The lovely guy doing it was great and the girls that helped. Wedid venture out into Kardemina a couple of times using the bus that stops outside the hotel ( 2 euros each) be aware coming back gets very busy because it has a few hotels on the way , coming back after 10 with little ones is not a nice experience its very crowded and the bus stop in kardermina did turn I to a free for all. We came for the wedding and as we were all together in celebration we had a nice time, would we come back ...... a very definite No. Be aware if booking this hotel to have as a five star experience your going to be dissapointed.

We had a pleasant stay at Porto Bello Royal, and there are definitely several things the hotel does very well. The food selection is excellent, with lots of variety, and the drinks and cocktails are also very good, but there is so much you can eat. The staff were friendly. The resort itself is clean and well maintained, with plenty of pools and facilities. Our room was comfortable, although the sea view was only a very small glimpse of the sea, so I would not book specifically for the sea view without checking the exact room location. For us, the biggest downside was the beach. The umbrellas are quite small and placed very close together, so the beach feels crowded and there is not much shade. When staying there for a whole day, we often had to move or adjust the sunbed as the sun moved, which took away from the relaxing experience. You can also hear conversations from neighbouring guests quite clearly even while lying on the beach. The walls between rooms are also quite thin, and we could hear our neighbours from the room. Another thing worth knowing is that the hotel is located under a flight path, so aircraft noise can be heard during the day and even at night. Overall, I would say this is a good all-inclusive resort with excellent food, but the beach layout, limited shade and noise levels meant that it did not provide the relaxing beach experience we were hoping for. It may be a great choice for people who prioritise food, facilities and service, but I would recommend looking carefully at the beach setup and location before booking if a peaceful beach experience is your main priority.

Very good and relaxing, had bad back problems which it has made feel more loose

Previously stayed at this hotel in 2023 and it wasn’t amazing then but not too bad either. Fast forward 3 years and it’s gone down hill. First impression, swim up room with sea view (677) was nice but when initially taken down on the golf buggy on arrival neither of our 2 key cards worked. Not too bad if room around the corner from reception but it’s one of the furthest away. I would have expected the porter who drove us down to go back and sort it out but he just said we will just have to sort it out ourselves and left. The food in this place was nice and one of the reasons we returned, but this has gone down hill since last visit, even the Al a carte burger place serving processed chicken burgers (was disgusting). Also had drinks spilled on me by waiter and overall service was very slow (if you got service at all) and there was definitely a lot less staff there than last time. Entertainment was ok to terrible depending on who it was. The Tenors were good but the Bruno Mars tribute was like a very bad karaoke night at best. In summary, it’s gone down hill, go somewhere else.
