The Aeolos Beach Hotel

We have only been here 5 hours and I really would rather be at home. So we arrived on the airport transfer bus, the approach and outside is very shabby , there is absolutely nothing near by, no shops, bars, nothing . We have a junior suite booked with a plunge pool . Well, the grounds are also shabby and the accommodation looks rough from the outside. We got onto our room to find it's not a plunge pool, it's a standard hot tub. Oh and no towels of floor mat for the hot tub. There are no plug sockets in the room, only 2 usb in an awkward location. The room is ok, it's not luxurious at all, the quality of the finish is poor. 2 sachets of coffee and 2 jiggers of milk, 4 t bags and 4 sugars. Also, there are no English language TV channels. Then we went for a drink at the pool bar. Un inviting with overflowing bins and sticky dirty bar that I didn't want to lean on. Drinks were fine but just premix cocktail mixers and local spirits. Now the main event, we went to dinner., we arrived a little early and decided to have a drink at the bar before dinner, my wife asked for water and was told " no, we don't have water , wait 7 mins and you can get some with dinner . Oh no, the dinner hall was awful, very little choice and what I tried was bland and pretty un appealing. Definitely the worst choice and worst quality food I have ever had in an all inc hotel I'm now tucked up in bed at 9pm not looking forward to the next 9 days. Oh, the Aircon will only go down to 24 and the heater option is disabled. For reference the holiday was booked with Jet2 and cost over 3k for 10 nights all inc.

We stayed here for one week in room 114. Room was overlooking the pool in the main building. There are also lots of bungalows scattered around the hotel grounds. There wasn't a lot of faults to be had at this hotel. The room was good and cleaned every day, the main pool area was great with ample sun beds if your down early enough. The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and greeted you every morning. We went to Tigaki beach in a taxi...€16 each way and a further €10 each for very comfortable sun beds. We'll worth it. We also done the half day pirate boat cruise from Kos town, highly recommended. Now back to the hotel, as I said the hotel itself was great, BUT..in my honest opinion the food was poor, not a lot of selection and all lukewarm at best. Also the drink selection was also poor for a four star hotel. Not a branded bottle of alcohol to be seen anywhere. Shows on at nightime we're very loud if you are in the main building. Sorry I won't be returning to this hotel just based on the food and drink only.

Overall nice stay. We stayed in a superior bungalow which was nice and spacious. Water bottle received daily and wine on arrival which was great. Cleaning of room was poor - we left towels to be replaced multiple time which did not happen and we had to call to get new ones. Overall complex was lovely and quite large. Beachfront location and lots of beds on the grass area before the beach but still very close by. Great for sunset pics. Four pools (1 only for premium bungalows). We did try to upgrade however only a suite was available which doesn’t give access to that pool. Main pool area can get quite busy but always seemed to find sunbeds. Biggest downside to this hotel was the food. Cold at times and lacking flavour. Not much choice. Breakfast was poor and lunch/dinner was worse. Flys around food in main restaurant. The best food was by the poolside which had chips, burgers, kebabs etc. We ended up going into Kos town for dinner most nights which not ideal considering all inclusive. Drinks were average as well. There is a beachfront restaurant serving the same food and again very poor. The shuttle bus provided by the hotel is great. $4 pp each way. Always on time and lovely driver. Staff at the hotel were great and friendly. Entertainment was basic but did the job. We had a night return flight and was able to keep the room. Was a bit pricey and around $80 to keep until 6pm (I think!). Also there is a shop on site with crisps snacks and toiletries able to purchase which is handy as hotel is not close by to anything.

We had a fantastic time at the Aeolus Beach. We all had a beachfront bungalow that was kept spotless (as were all the grounds). The bedroom was tastefully decorated. There are 3 locations to eat, the main restaurant, the beachside restaurant and the poolside snack bar, all were very good. Highly recommended!
