TUI SUNEO Niriides Beach

This was booked as a last minute getaway for 4 adults. We arrived at midnight and the guy on reception was very rude and abrupt. Literally showed us to our room and said “you are in there” and walked off. We were in the new block and the room was nice but very basic, great lack of drawers so we had to keep most of our stuff in our suitcases. The walls are very thin and you can hear every sound. We had some really noisy people next to us and we could literally hear everything, even him being sick from his skinful the night before! There is also a field behind the rooms that have loads of cockerels roaming round that NEVER sleep! If you are a light sleeper I’d highly recommend taking earplugs! The pool area was nice and clean but the pool was extremely cold and nobody went in it. The food was very basic and not much choice and repeated frequently. Drinks were served in plastic cups much to my husbands annoyance that he couldn’t have a beer in a glass! The staff were all quite miserable and the 2 young girls who were the entertainment staff needed a bloody good shake up! During the day they would just wander round and go to the same people each time to see if they wanted to join in the activities, so half the time you didn’t know anything was happening. It was very flat at night and not very good at all. They had some resident acrobats who were good but in our 11 nights they were on 4 times doing the exact same thing! Boring! Some other guys came in one night and they did the exact same routine as the other guys! The hotel won best entertainment a few years ago but wow they defo wouldn’t be this year! We had a few days of rain and the undercover seating area was very small and cold so there wasn’t anywhere else to sit so we ended up sitting in one of our rooms playing cards every night to pass the time and keep warm. Yes they’ve extended the hotel by putting new rooms in, but the original hotel area is very small and can’t house all the guests in bad/cold weather. It was ok for a cheapish get away but I for one will definitely not be returning.

MAYBE I'M USED TO THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE...... Rooms are clean and fresh, can not fault that. The problem is that when it comes to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The area where this is located is where the entrance to the hotel reception is, so you have people walking through with cases arriving or departing. It is quite a large complex with 3/ 4 pools and plenty of sun loungers. I would strongly suggest that tui has a look at who they employ as entertainment hosts, as the 2 young girls havent got a clue. Drinks are available at the pool bar until 11pm but I've seen more life in a morgue than in my beer/ drinks. Plus they are heavily watered down. This place is not a bad little place, it just has a few teething problems. There is a bus stop somewhere outside on the main road into Kos which I've yet to find, but it's only €10 for a taxi.

Had a wonderful two week holiday at Niriides Beach, thank you. ACCOMMODATION Fabulous bright modern annexe room right next to the beautiful pool. Good size, spotlessly clean, free safe, comfortable beds, hot powerful shower, tea/coffee making facilities, regular housekeeping, good air con. FOOD Not a massive selection but always something for everyone. Always fresh and replenished. Very clean. Used plates taken away immediately by attentive staff. Evening meal finishes slightly early for us at 20.30. BAR Open 11.00 til 23.00. Good lager, white wine ok, great slushies, my favourite non alcoholic drink was cold brew coffee with ice-cream, cocktails from a dispenser and were fine (not overly strong), didn't try the spirits. ENTERTAINMENT A number of daytime activities were on offer. Early evening entertainment consisted of quizzes and mini disco - not really for us. Main evening entertainment started 21.00 and was very good - Abba tribute, belly dancing, acrobatics, female singers, sax and singer. All excellent. STAFF Amazing staff. Family run hotel. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, accommodating, pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a very minor issue with the air con upon arrival which George dealt with immediately. Everything was immaculate due to diligent and hardworking staff. LOCATION Across the (rather busy) road was the shoreline but no real accessible beach. There's a little beach five minutes away where the locals swim, which was quite shallow and safe. Kos Town and the harbour is a 15 minute stroll away. SUMMARY Please remember this is a three star hotel and as such, it is excellent. We paid a reasonable price and found it good value for money, with exceptional staff and facilities.

There was a lot to like about our holiday at Niriides. The pools, the friendly staff and the entertainment all helped create a sociable atmosphere, and we enjoyed having things going on without needing to organise every part of the day ourselves. The choice of pool areas is useful, and the daytime activities give you something to join in with when you fancy it. The evening programme adds to the holiday feeling too, with entertainment such as Greek nights, singers and the silent disco. It’s the sort of setting where you can enjoy the show, have a chat and let the evening take its course. Food was another enjoyable part of the stay. Breakfast choices such as eggs, pancakes and waffles were welcome, while the main meals offered opportunities to try Greek food alongside familiar dishes. The restaurant team and housekeeping staff deserve recognition as well; there is a lot of work going on to keep everyone fed and the hotel looking tidy. For a day away from the pool, head down to Kos Town’s harbour and have a look at the boat excursions. The three-island trips are one of the options worth considering, and you can compare operators, routes and what is included before booking. Even without taking a trip, the harbour makes a lovely place to explore, followed by a wander through the shops or a meal in town. We liked having that choice: stay at the hotel and relax, or go out and see more. A really enjoyable holiday, with a hardworking team who contributed a great deal to it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clean, comfortable and a great place to unwind We really enjoyed Niriides and would happily consider returning. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, and we found it very easy to settle into a routine of breakfast, time around the pool and deciding later whether to stay put or head out somewhere. Cleanliness stood out throughout our stay. Our room was well looked after, and the restaurant and pool areas showed the same care. The different swimming pools are a real advantage, particularly if you prefer a quieter spot. The newer accommodation areas are worth looking at when choosing your room, as the hotel has different sections and room arrangements. We were pleased with the food. Breakfast offered a good start to the day, and at lunch and dinner we enjoyed having a selection of hot dishes, salads and desserts. The staff in the restaurant worked hard keeping everything moving, clearing tables and helping guests. Kos Town is well worth exploring beyond the waterfront. Eleftherias Square is a good place to pause, with cafés, outdoor tables and the Archaeological Museum beside the square. The surrounding streets lead into the Old Town, where you can browse for souvenirs and find somewhere for lunch or an evening meal. There’s enough close together to enjoy an unhurried look around. Being able to combine pool days with a visit to town was a big part of the appeal. Niriides gave us a comfortable base, a friendly welcome and the chance to switch off. We left feeling that we’d had a proper holiday.
