TUI SUNEO Niriides Beach

Another amazing holiday in our favourite place. We really do love it here. The staff are all amazing. Donna and her team are great. Always smiling and willing to have a bit of banter with you. They serve amazing crepes at 3:30 daily filled with white or dark chocolate which we all loved. Beer is actually nice me and the husband didn’t mind it all, cocktails great too and the iced coffee with ice cream are a real hit with our son. The whole place is spotless thanks to the cleaning staff. Reception staff, again lovely and friendly and helpful should you need it. We had an annex room which was perfect and had sun beds on the balcony but there is never a need to set an alarm here as there is always beds available around the pool. Food is lovely always tasty, the chefs work hard to keep the food stocked up. Entertaining again is great, always a seat after tea ready to sit and relax for the night with a mini disco for the kids, quiz ( we loved these) and then a main act. Entertainments Nicola and Louise were both lovely and provided some great day time entertainment too. Niriides has become a second home to us with our extended family and we can’t wait to return see you all next year. Thank you for another super year.

We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay and can genuinely say this is one of the best 3* hotels we have stayed in. We had such a lovely, relaxing holiday and would happily return. The food was delicious and probably one of the biggest highlights for us. Even with the option of just one restaurant there was enough choice each evening to put together a really good dinner, without the endless repetitive variations of stodge we’ve experienced at some other all inclusive hotels. Everything was good quality, fresh and hot, and over the whole two weeks there was plenty of variation – we never had that “Groundhog Day” feeling of seeing the same things come around again and again! I had read a few reviews before we arrived complaining about the temperature of the food, but we personally never found this to be an issue. I also noticed there is a microwave available with a sign inviting guests to use it if they would prefer their food a little hotter, which I thought was a simple and sensible solution. Our children are really good eaters, so we never struggled to find them something they enjoyed. I would say, though, don’t arrive expecting a typical “kids’ corner” full of nuggets and fish fingers – it’s just not that kind of place, which personally we really liked. But there is your standard pasta and chips available for those picky eaters. The whole hotel has such a warm, family feel to it. The owners are regularly around the hotel and available to chat to, staff birthdays are celebrated on stage and the staff get involved with the evening entertainment. It genuinely feels like everyone is part of one big family rather than simply working at a hotel, and that atmosphere really comes across to the guests too. A special mention has to go to the lovely Maria in the restaurant, who looked after us so well throughout our stay and was always so lovely and welcoming. And an even bigger mention to Barbara, who was just amazing. So friendly, warm and genuinely lovely with us and the children – she is a true credit to the hotel and one of those people who really helps make a holiday memorable and even got involved with the acrobats! The hotel has four pools, which is brilliant as everyone naturally spreads themselves out. We never felt like everyone was crammed around one pool and there were plenty of sunbeds, both poolside and out on the grass. It made the days around the hotel feel really peaceful and relaxed. The only thing I would point out for families with younger children is that, while I would absolutely describe the hotel as very family orientated, I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as a hotel specifically geared towards entertaining children. There isn’t a huge amount for younger kids to actually do outside of the pools. Our children are happy making friends and spending hours in the water, so it wasn't a problem for us, but it is worth knowing before you book. Some of the daytime activities were also a little long winded and more suited to adults or older children – darts, pool and ping-pong competitions aren't particularly accessible to many six year olds! We’ve stayed at other Suneo hotels where the entertainment team occasionally mixed in something simple like rock painting or face painting, and I think adding the odd activity like that would make a big difference for younger guests. That really is a small point though, and certainly didn't take away from what was a fantastic two weeks. The evening entertainment was great as well. The quizzes were really accessible even if you’re not normally a “quiz person”, so everyone could get involved without it being taken too seriously! The acrobats were absolutely fab and a real highlight. They actually live on site and even put on an extra lunchtime performance for everyone one day, which was such a lovely bonus. We were lucky enough to have a room by the old pool, which worked perfectly for us with the children. Once they were tucked up in bed we could sit outside the front of our room with a drink and still watch the evening acts – definitely one of the perks of our room location! (If a little loud at some points, but it all stops between 10/10:30pm) Overall, we had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in a genuinely warm, welcoming and family orientated hotel. Fantastic food, lovely pools, a great atmosphere and, most importantly, some absolutely wonderful staff who really make the place what it is. Thank you for such a lovely two weeks – and especially to Maria and Barbara for looking after us so well. ❤️

Location: A bit too far away from Kos Town with bikes/scooters on the same path. Atmosphere: Perfect combination of quiet pools and frantic waterpolo as 4 different pools to chose from. Really friendly staff, day and night entertainment fantastic. Food and Drink : Food was excellent, stayed for 2 weeks and always something for everyone with varied choices on offer at morning, noon and night (and snacks inbetween at the bar). Drinks - only thing that let the hotel down, no ameretto and Irish cream. Rooms : Never got sick of opening the curtains and seeing Turkey every morning! Air conditioned, very clean. Our cleaner was very friendly and efficient. Value for Money : Overall extremely relaxing family holiday, testament to the hotel that for the majority of the time we chose to stay at the hotel for the day and evening entertainment rather than venturing out like we usually do. Highly recommend the hotel, staff can’t do enough for you, met some lovely people while we were there too. Only thing to let it down were the drinks.

Myself and my partner recently spent five nights here. It was a last minute trip/booking so we didn’t expect much. But this hotel was absolutely perfect. We had an inland view room in the main building and it had a gorgeous view of the pools. The aircon was great. The shower had good pressure. The rooms were cleaned well. The food and drinks were good, always something to eat or drink no matter how picky you are! At 3:30pm they serve crepes, toasties etc. at the pool bar which is a nice addition. The bar staff were all lovely and shoutout to Dr George, Konna and Barbara for always smiling and having fun at the bar. There are 4 pools on the grounds. There is the original pool near the bar and three new pools, we spent our five days at the third new pool closest to the stairs. This felt peaceful and had an adults only feel to it compared to the 3 others. The pool was clean. We only realised it on the last day but there’s pool toilets between the first and second set of annex’s to save you a walk all the way to the bar! There is also an ATM and a shop in the hotel which is so handy! All staff were very nice and friendly. Our flight home was late at night so we were able to get late check out until 6pm and this came at a cost of €80. We will definitely be back and next time we would love to try a direct pool access room in one of the annex’s as they were absolutely stunning! Entertainment was brilliant and there was always activities on everyday around the pool. The self service soft drink / water / tea / coffee stations were amazing also! It was great stay!

Location - about a 30-45 minute walk into Kos Town along one path which is used by cyclists and scooters so you do have to be careful. Some lovely restaurants and seafront venues along the way. You can get a taxi from reception but they can’t tell you what the wait will be so we sat for almost an hour waiting. This is common across Kos though. Cost was 9 euro. Area around the hotel quite run down with lots of abandoned and derelict buildings but that’s common in Greece. TUI advertised a beachfront across from the hotel but that’s not the case. Buses into Kos were very irregular and it was not obvious where they stopped. Rooms - we booked a poolside annexe and emailed twice to request a ground floor due to mobility issues and then following a back operation. Unfortunately although we know this is never a guarantee, on check in we were given a first floor room with quite steep stairs for access. We checked in with another 4 groups and several were given ground floor room so they were available. Carrying cases up the stairs on arrival in the dark with no help was a struggle. We asked a few times to move and were given different excuses by different staff members every time. One gentleman told us not to give up our annexe to move to the main building as they weren’t nice! We were eventually moved to a lower room but with only 2 days left of the holiday even though there were some rooms sitting empty on ground floor for several days before that. We were only moved after contacting the TUI rep. Initial room was standard really but they could definitely make some improvements. An uncomfortable beanbag as a chair and an old fridge just sat on the floor looked awful. Second room seemed to have more care taken in its decor but beanbag and fridge still the same. Cleaned 5 days out of the 7 which was fine and cleaners did a lovely job. Late check out is 80 euros so quite expensive compared to other hotels but if you have a late flight it’s probably best to do that. Pool areas - we didn’t use the main pool as had annexe room so can only comment on those but lovely and clean and always sunbeds available throughout the day. Be mindful that a lot of families congregate in the annexe rooms and pools when only one of their party has an annexe room which means it did get really loud and cramped when they were trying to put 6 plus beds down outside one room. Pool was nice temperature and they weren’t ever strict on following the times that they could be used. Food and drinks - sadly for us the food was poor compared to other AI hotels. We didn’t feel there was much choice at all. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. You could always get a seat though which was a plus. You could only use an actual glass in the restaurant with evening meal, all drinks in bar in evening were served in small plastic cups that are only ever half full so you spend your life back and forward at the bar. Few cocktail choices but they are weak and look disappointing! Don’t expect anything remotely cocktail looking. Bar staff were always lovely and friendly though, always a smile. They could do with a pool bar up near the annexe rooms as they near the main building which is a hike if you are sitting at the top and want a quick drink. They are missing a trick here as there are buildings at the top with pool tables and table tennis etc but they could be utilised so much better. Entertainment - two Irish girls were nice and didn’t bother you if you don’t want to join in there was no pressure. Mini disco for kids every night and a half hour karaoke most nights before the main acts. The acts were okay but nothing special. Silent disco was by far the highlight of the entertainment for us. A lot of fun. Overall - a nice hotel if you just want something basic but book an annexe room! If you are wanting a decent location, plenty food options and a half decent cocktail, try elsewhere. Also l would say avoid if you have mobility issues as only a lift available in the old main building and not the annexe rooms.
