Akti Imperial Deluxe

We arrived on 28/9 and had heard just before arriving a bout the sickness bug. On arrival I asked at the reception how it was and they said’ a little better’. Fast forwards 48 and myself and one of my daughters were hit with what can only be described as the worst D&V I have even experienced . So violent, burning from the inside out, temperature, sweats & shakes. This went on for 3 days where I was literally stuck in bed with faeces just running out of me- graphic but people need to be aware! We waited 4 hours for anyone to drop anything clean outside the room for us. As someone who works in the industry I simply cannot understand why guests are still allowed to stay here when clearly the hotel needs to be closed, deep cleaned and then opened. Especially as they are so aware of the situation at hand. The hotel is not anywhere near 5* , no storage or drawers, nowhere at all to keep anything other than your cases. We travel a lot accross the board and have stayed in much better 3* bases than this. I love Greece and have been many times but this is my first and last visit to Rhodes as I will never be able to enjoy. Everyone we spoke to- literally everyone has either been sick, were sick or had party members that were sick. This is not acceptable and will be reporting to the tour operators .

We visited the Akti a few years ago with Jane Macdonald and decided to return has we really liked the hotel and resort. We were given efficient service at the reception area and was escorted to our room promptly. The room was compact very clean and the safe was free of charge and the fridge spacious. The food was very good and varied, something for everyone and the dining room well set out with lots of room between tables. We expecially liked the late meal time and sometimes dined at midnight when we returned late. There is a very nice outdoor terrace situated past the bar, which serves labelled spirits on the all inclusive deal. Snacks are available throughout the day near the pool. It's situated well within reach of shops and bars and its about a 45 min walk to Rhodes Town which could be highly recommended.

We had done research before booking and going to the Akti Imperial and even still we weren't prepared for how amazing it is! The staff were incredible, always happy to answer any questions you have or just have a chat, they treated everyone the same - like royalty. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food selection was incredible with something for everyone and everything was fresh and flavoursome. The entertainment was brilliant, all the entertainment staff were friendly and full of character. There was something for everyone from dancing, singing, comedy and pool related things like water polo, water aerobics and water zumba as well as family friendly entertainment in the evenings The waiting staff were attentive and friendly and always polite. The hotel had plenty of hand sanitizer stations for everyone to use throughout the resort Would absolutely stay here again Unfortunately didn't take many pictures as we were too busy enjoying ourselves

Akti Imperial Rhodes – DEFINITELY NOT a 4/5 Star Experience. Think Twice Before Booking. Unfortunately, our experience at Akti Imperial was extremely disappointing and I would warn others to think carefully before booking. In our opinion, this hotel does not live up to the 4/5-star standard it is advertised as. The outdoor furniture around the pools and beach looked tired and in need of maintenance and upkeep. The swimming pools were absolutely freezing, and the beach and beach bar areas also looked like they needed some attention. The food was very basic and repetitive, with much the same choice most nights. We didn't try the pre-bookable restaurants, mainly because the majority of our party of 10 became ill with a sickness bug during the holiday. There were hand-sanitiser stations dotted around the hotel, but that appeared to be about the extent of the additional precautions. We weren't given any warning from Jet2 that gastroenteritis was reportedly widespread on the island, and from our experience illness was clearly affecting guests at Akti Imperial too. What concerned us most was that we didn't notice any obvious additional or ad-hoc cleaning taking place while we were there. With so many people becoming unwell, we would have expected to see much more visible cleaning and hygiene measures throughout the hotel. The rooms were also tired in places when you looked closely. We had a "SMILE" room, which certainly didn't make me smile – it felt more like a prison cell. People could actually walk across the roof directly in front of our balcony, so there was very little privacy. There were also several unacceptable issues across our party's rooms. After cleaning one room, the cleaners left the door open. In another room, switching on the air conditioning brought in a smell of excrement. This was reported, but according to our party nothing was done about it. We also had bed linen with yellow stains on it. The first-floor rooms were very noisy, and unfortunately we could hear other guests being sick. Our experience with reception wasn't much better. When we checked in, we individually paid our room tax but weren't told that we needed to keep the receipts. When we later returned for our room keys, we were told having the receipts would make things easier. The first key was handed over without a receipt and was for the correct room, so clearly it wasn't essential. After that, two members of reception staff became rude and abrupt over the receipts. Even when receipts were provided, our rooms were mixed up and the porter eventually helped us sort everything out. Overall, we found the reception staff unnecessarily unfriendly and unhelpful. One positive was the animation team. They were pleasant, friendly and worked extremely hard to provide entertainment throughout the day. They deserve credit for the effort they put in. Sadly, though, that wasn't enough to make up for the condition of the hotel, the issues with our rooms, the repetitive food, our experience with reception and, most importantly, the amount of sickness within our group. For a hotel being sold as a 4/5-star property, we expected a much higher standard. Based on our experience, we would not return and would recommend that anyone considering Akti Imperial does their research carefully before booking.

A family trip let down by poor standards.. Room- Room very basic but all the necessities needed. The balcony over looked the a building, we did expect this due to the online information shared. The plug in the bathroom shower was broken and everytime you caught it come off, the cleanliness was very poor marks on the floor. Our room was also left wide open one day by the cleaners luckily everything still there. They also took a key card one day! The safe was broken and locked. The draw to the bedside table broken and coming off hinges. Food- The food was ok. We only ate in the buffet didn’t try the Al la cartes. Very standard but similar every night would have been nice to mix up the Asian section. Amenities- the entertainment people were so lovely and always smiley they tried their best with what they had however overall not 5 star quality. We didn’t have any problems getting sunbeds and when we did they were comfortable for plastic beds. This isn’t a problem with the hotel but more the agents. This hotel should NOT allow guests due to a sickness bug that is going around. Our party of 9 were all sick, so be it for 24 hours. When asked around everyone we had spoken to also staying there had been unwell with sickness and it’s well known. All over social media have said it’s really rife in Akti. Why allow us to book knowing there is a bug. We had pregnant people and children in our party. I have no idea how they are going to irradiate this. Overall not 5 star or even 4 star.
