Atlantica Dreams Resort

Just back from a weeks half term break. Went with Tui and the flight and transfer experience as expected. Slightly extended transfer amounting to 2 hours but the hotel left the buffet open. Upon arrival excellent service. We had a swim up room. 4 of us, 2 adults 2 teenagers. Room was just about big enough. The hotel app isn’t great to be honest so talk to the staff who are really helpful. Breakfast was lacking a little bit of fruit selection but otherwise a good hot and cold selection. Hand made omelettes 👏. Pools where excellent, a little cold but it was October and no reason to complain – just swim faster🤣. Sunbeds excellent (adult area specifically) bar service excellent and so was the pool side team who regularly checked in. Hotel bar was spot on - in the main lobby area and linked to the restaurants so a really good atmosphere and thoroughfare and with the terrace (when not raining) made for a good area. Entertainment was a good blend without being too loud to talk. Again bar service excellent. We ate in 3 restaurants ( inc in package) all very good albeit the fusion restaurant was not to our taste. The Greek restaurant was spot on – the beef👏👏👏. Buffet restaurant was also good with staff and cleanliness excellent. Food was varied and always hot, plentiful and tasty. Overall atmosphere was good for the hotel and we only saw one grown man in a Liverpool shirt at dinner🤦‍♂️. Maid service was good and the hotel was impeccably clean. Beech was stoney but sunbeds excellent. My only gripe was the mini bar. If you had your dnd on they wouldn’t come back, so we regularly were short of drinks in the room. It was slightly odd as the maid would always come back. There is nothing to do in the area so if you want a week of sitting by the pool / beech this was it. Other things to do on site included an indoor pool, gym, padel and tennis. Evening entertainment was excellent but didn’t interfere if you didn’t want to engage. Outside food and drink places excellent – the food truck was 👏👏👏. Overall a great week for doing nothing. Excellent service all around. Spot on hotel and what was expected. As other reviews have mentioned, this is a beautiful hotel, but unfortunately, the smaller details really let it down. Having previously stayed at a Sensatori resort in Mexico and absolutely loved it, we arrived with high expectations. Sadly, Atlantica Dreams didn't quite live up to them. We arrived early afternoon following an almost two-hour coach transfer. Check-in was fairly uneventful, and we headed to our room. We had specifically paid extra for a beachfront family suite with a full sea view and balcony, as advertised on the TUI website. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. Our room was located beside the beach bar, with trees obscuring almost the entire sea view. When booking, we'd considered a swim-up room or a standard partial sea-view room but ultimately decided to pay the extra for the full sea view. It was therefore disappointing to find ourselves with what was effectively a very limited sea view. We considered raising it with reception but decided to make the best of it, particularly as having the beach bar so close seemed convenient. More on that later! The room itself was actually lovely, spacious and initially very clean. However, housekeeping was rather inconsistent. On the first day, we made the bed properly before heading out. When we returned, the decorative cushions had been removed and placed on a chair, where they remained for the rest of our stay. It was a small detail, but the room didn't seem to receive the same level of attention on subsequent days. The bigger issue was privacy. The rooms have electronic 'Do Not Disturb' indicators rather than traditional door signs. Unfortunately, ours wasn't working, something we only discovered towards the end of our stay. Despite repeatedly switching it on, housekeeping or minibar staff continued entering our room, often around 6:30pm, just as we were getting ready for the evening. On two separate occasions, staff entered while I was stepping out of the shower! After the second incident, I went to reception to complain. Before I'd even explained what had happened, the receptionist picked up the telephone and asked us to take a seat. When I asked whether he was contacting Guest Services, having already been told they were only available between 4pm and 5pm, he explained that they were on site but couldn't be reached. With no indication of when someone would be available, we eventually gave up. For a hotel marketed as five-star, I really don't think it's unreasonable to expect a functioning Do Not Disturb system and someone available to deal with a complaint, particularly one involving guest privacy. We'd booked the Italian à la carte restaurant through the hotel app, which I found rather frustrating to use. On the day of our reservation, we looked at the menu and decided it wasn't really for us, so we approached reception to see whether we could change our booking. We were told this was possible, but only through Guest Services, who were apparently available between 4pm and 5pm. One hour a day for Guest Services at a five-star resort seemed rather strange. As we were only staying four nights, we ended up missing out on an alternative à la carte experience. The main buffet was fairly standard all-inclusive fare. Personally, I struggled with the selection, which I didn't find particularly varied, and much of the food was barely warm. It certainly wasn't the standard of dining I'd expected from a Sensatori resort. The pools were absolutely freezing! Not just a little chilly, but genuinely uncomfortable to use. We noticed very few people actually swimming, which wasn't particularly surprising. On a more positive note, the drinks were good, and Thanos in the main lobby bar was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, attentive and seemed to have our next drinks ready before we'd even finished the previous ones. We actually wanted to leave him a tip but hadn't brought cash. When we asked about an ATM, we were told the nearest was at a petrol station along the main road, so unfortunately that didn't happen. The beach bar was another disappointment - for two of our four evenings, the beach bar was closed to hotel guests because of private weddings. Given that this was one of the main reasons we'd initially been happy with our room's location, it was particularly frustrating. I completely understand hotels hosting weddings, but I'd have expected a resort of this size and standard to have a dedicated event area rather than closing one of its bars to paying guests. To make matters worse, the wedding music was extremely loud from our balcony and continued beyond 11pm. So not only could we not use the bar, but we couldn't really enjoy sitting outside our room either. We struggled to find the evening entertainment, so generally ended up spending our evenings in the lobby bar. To be fair, we quite enjoyed sitting there, although it is essentially in the middle of the main reception building rather than a dedicated entertainment venue. The hotel shop is fairly basic but stocks most essentials. The location, however, is very isolated. There really isn't much around the resort at all. Gennadi is apparently around a mile and a half away along the beach, but with the beach being predominantly shingle, we didn't fancy attempting the walk. If you enjoy exploring local bars, restaurants or shops in the evening, this probably isn't the hotel for you. On our final day, we had a late flight departing at around 11pm, so enquired about keeping our room until 6pm. We were quoted €180, which we felt was excessive, so declined. This wasn't a terrible holiday, and there were certainly positives. The hotel itself is attractive, the room was comfortable, the drinks were good, and some of the staff, particularly Thanos, were excellent. However, when you're paying a premium for a five-star TUI Sensatori experience, it's reasonable to expect the details to be right. A room that doesn't deliver the advertised view, an ineffective Do Not Disturb system, limited access to Guest Services, lukewarm food, freezing pools and facilities closed for private events all added up to a disappointing stay. We've previously stayed at Sensatori Mexico, which was fantastic, so perhaps our expectations were higher as a result. Unfortunately, Atlantica Dreams simply didn't deliver the same standard. Would we return? Probably not. It's a beautiful resort, but there are too many small issues that collectively take away from the experience. I read plenty of glowing reviews before booking and expected something exceptional. Looking back, I wish I'd paid a little more attention to some of the three- and four-star reviews, as they seem to reflect our experience far more accurately.

Booked holiday at local TUI shop with a list of room and other requirements (was a long list!) Leaving nothing to chance my partner emailed the resort in advance with a list of nice-to-haves, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a quick response from Marios Kapetanos (Guest Relations Manager) offering to do their best to meet them. On arrival room, views and layout were exactly as requested. An excellent start. Help from reception staff: Antiola, Fay, Michael and Andreas (#1) was first rate throughout our stay. In fact all resort staff were amazing – very helpful and friendly, for us it stood out from other resorts where we've previously stayed. Service was always above and beyond. Special thanks go to Andreas (#2) who from day one helping with directions was excellent. As it turned out he was based in the main restaurant, where food and drinks quality and variety was amazing. At one point chatted with main restaurant manager Lefteris so gave personal feedback on his fantastic team which includes; Maria, Andreas, Regina, Lavinia. Great service at other bars/restaurants; especially Richelle (Kuzina) as well as Jerry (Bhodi bar) and other beach bar staff. It’s amazing how helpful and positive staff can add so much to a holiday. Thanks also to kitchen back-staff for many great menus, and helpful cleaning staff, our room servicer Bulla (?) (Vulla) who looked after our apartment wonderfully! Congratulations! Kalispéra Atlantica!! Having had such a wonderful time last October we knew we had to return … once again we were amazed! In 2025 we were allocated Room 2111 with a wonderful view of the complex and a fabulous balcony. We had the benefit of the early morning sunshine and we contacted the hotel to see if it was possible for us to have the same room once again this year. Antonis, the Rooms Division Manager was absolutely wonderful and it was such a lovely surprise to arrive in the early hours of the morning to find our ‘wish had been granted!’ Not only that we had snacks and drinks in our room so we did not go to bed hungry!! There have been quite a few changes around the hotel since last year. The beach area has now got a board walk, cabanas and gorgeous padded sun beds. Several areas around the pool also have the padded sun beds which is a great addition. One improvement however was not a winner for us … the upgraded ‘bean bags’ on the balconies. They look lovely and very stylish but do not mould quite so well to ‘older bodies’ like the traditional bean bags style that are still (thankfully) in the Bhodi Bar! Talking of the Bhodi Bar it was great to see the amazing DJ we met last year was still there!! His choice of music is excellent and it creates a fabulous atmosphere. It is a perfect place to sit, enjoy a drink and soak up the late afternoon sunshine. As returning guests it was lovely to be invited to drinks and meet the Management Team. This is a hotel with its guests at heart and they appreciate any feedback that they get in order that the hotel can live up to expectations and continually improve. It was lovely to finally meet Antonis, Marios and also have the pleasure of meeting the Food and Beverage Manager whose name unfortunately we can not remember … Sorry! It is clear the Management take pride in the hotel, they are always visible around the complex, engaging with guests and wanting everyone to have the best experience. The staff at the hotel are a real credit. Each and every one we met clearly enjoys their job. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces again and great to spring a surprise on Andreas and Antiola as they had no idea were returning!! Ylli remembered us too … he looks after his tables in the restaurant very well and always chats to guests … he even taught us a little more Greek! … Sas Efcharistó Ylli!! We even had the pleasure of meeting Ylli’s wife this year Vjolca … always smiling and always giving a warm welcome when we arrived at the Restaurant. The gardeners do an amazing job and the topiaries around the hotel are incredible!! Last but not least, the guy who cleans all the glass around the pool area is such a happy friendly chap … and makes a great job of his cleaning too!! In between soaking up the sunshine we took part in several fitness classes. There is a huge variety so definitely something for everyone! We had the pleasure of joining Maria for her classes. She was full of energy, very motivational and great fun! Thanks for all of the smiles Maria and for putting us through it, I think every muscle in our body got a work out!! Obviously after exercise comes massage so we visited the Spa and caught up with Alex again. My husband had a fabulous massage with Edelina and I had a massage and mini facial with Jovi. Absolutely amazing and a huge thanks to both therapists! The only thing we felt we missed was swimming in the outdoor pools but they were freezing cold. Perhaps this is to be expected as it is October! However we did use the indoor pool which was a lovely temperature and we managed to time it before the families took over with all of their balls! Once again a lovely holiday. Amazing staff, great food, great weather - apart from the incredible storm overnight Tuesday and amazing couple of downpours the next day! … The Management can fix most things but I think the weather is out of their control!! This was our second visit to this hotel this year and it was just as fantastic this time. All the staff are great but I just wanted to name a few of the exceptional ones who went above and beyond to make our holiday so good. Zac and Alice work tirelessly throughout the day, ensuring everyone is having a good time, offering lots of different activities and always smiling throughout them . The archery was a huge hit with my daughter and husband! Isobel and Hope you were as before incredible with Fred in the baby room! He had so much fun and we loved seeing all the daily photos you sent showing us everything he had done and the book we got at the end will be the best memories!We cannot thank you enough! Home now and he’s still asking to go and see you!! Thank you all again! We hope to be back next year!
