Avra Beach

Had a really lovely week at Avra Beach Hotel - brilliant views from the beach, hotel clean throughout, good choice and standard of food in the main buffet restaurant with a different theme each night. Very relaxed and enjoyable stay, with staff being generally polite and helpful, good quality entertainment each evening. Tour operator at reception for trips to Lindos and Symi island is highly recommended and reasonably priced! Buy a snorkel and you’ll see plenty of fish just off the hotel beach! For improvement given the hotel is 4 stars it would seem reasonable that complimentary shower gels/shampoos in bathroom are replaced throughout the week rather than empty bottles being ignored each day by cleaners. Also the beach mostly has lovely grey sun loungers, but there are 15 or so cheap flimsy looking blue loungers scattered around - get rid of those as they somewhat ruin the luxury feel of the beach. Some of the all inclusive cocktails could be better tasting also - some too sweet or watered down. Finally should install facility to dry clothing on balconies as most people resorted to hanging wet towels/clothing over balcony glass which looks pretty untidy. Overall really good hotel and would return!

This is a lovely hotel, lovely staff, great food , our room was in the main building and had been renovated, it was nice and comfortable. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because one morning i slipped over on a wet floor, I landed squarly on a step, thank god, it could have been worse, there are signs around about wet floors, in other hotels i have stayed in floors have mopped before guests are up and about. The food in the speciality restaurant is also excellent

We honestly cannot fault Avra Beach Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome, and this has genuinely been one of the best holidays we've ever had. The staff are absolutely incredible and are a huge part of what makes this hotel so special. Mary was fantastic and went above and beyond to help us plan things during our stay. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and she was always so friendly and helpful. The reception staff were equally lovely and always happy to help with anything we needed. A massive mention also has to go to Tibi, Boogie and Cyril from the animation team. They made us feel welcome almost immediately and were absolutely brilliant throughout our stay. They don't just provide entertainment – they create such a fun, friendly atmosphere and genuinely make you feel included. The entertainment has been fantastic and we've looked forward to it every evening. And of course, Nikolas and Roxy absolutely made our holiday. We are so grateful to Nikolas for welcoming us and letting us spend time playing ball in the sea with Roxy each day. Those simple moments became some of our absolute favourite memories from the whole holiday. Between Nikolas and Roxy, the animation team, the staff and the lovely people we've met, we've genuinely felt like we've become part of a little Avra community while we've been here rather than simply being guests at a hotel. That's incredibly special and something we'll remember for a long time. The food has been impeccable. There is so much choice, everything we've eaten has been fresh and delicious, and the waiting staff are incredibly efficient. Even when the restaurant is busy, everything seems to run effortlessly and tables are cleared and reset unbelievably quickly. We also visited the spa, and the ladies there were absolutely lovely. It was such a relaxing experience and another highlight of our stay. The beach is beautiful and the sea is unbelievably clear – we bought snorkels during our stay and could see so many fish swimming beneath us. The beach area itself is brilliant too, with plenty of loungers available. They're proper luxury cushioned loungers, rather than the uncomfortable plastic ones you often find at hotels, and being able to walk straight from the hotel onto the beach and into that crystal-clear water has been amazing. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give Avra is that I've slept better during this week than I have for the entire past year at home. I've felt completely relaxed here, which says more about the atmosphere of this hotel than anything else could. What really sets Avra apart isn't just the beautiful location, facilities, food or entertainment – it's the people. There's such a warm, welcoming atmosphere here that by the end of our stay we genuinely don't want to leave. We've made amazing memories, met wonderful people and cannot fault a single thing about our stay. We will absolutely be coming back. Thank you to everyone at Avra for making our holiday so special.

We visited last year in June and loved it so decided to return. We booked for ten nights and my Dad joined us for seven. This year my husband and I booked a superior family room with a sea view as we wanted a bit more space. I emailed prior to request a front facing sea view and Helena was so accommodating and we were allocated this. Our room was amazing, so comfortable and the view was spectacular. My Dad did not have a view from his room but had no option to book a different type through Jet 2 being a single occupant. However, his room was modern, immaculately cleaned (like ours) and comfortable. Food was excellent, I agree some nights you may not like everything served but the quality and choice is excellent. We loved the additional lunch time restaurant (11:30 to 16:00) which served amazing gyros and pizza (as well as salad and pasta). We love the location, being right on the beach and the way the resort is laid out is beautiful. Also everywhere is so clean and well maintained, as I said on my previous reviews the only mess was made by other guests not cleaning up after themselves. The entertainment team are great, they work so hard and are so friendly, Especially Boogie we love, love him, so much energy and a great guy! Also Cyril, he is fab, convinced us to play Boccia and we had such a laugh (although I was terrible!). The restaurant can get busy and a bit chaotic, also there were a lot of people constantly smoking, which I know is permitted in the outside areas but this was annoying at times, especially when people don’t use ashtrays on the beach. However, overall this is a really fantastic hotel which we would recommend. I am a bit dubious about some of the reviews about the food as we’ve been lucky enough to travel and we think it’s great in comparison to a lot of other hotels. Finally(!) the staff are so friendly and welcoming, they really make this place special. Apologies in advance if I have names wrong but shout out to Kristianos on the terrace bar who is so friendly every day even with being so busy and Anastasia on the evening bar is so lovely and friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel, look at your options for rooms, if you can book a superior side sea view or a family sea view but if not a lot of the rooms are lovely especially with the refurbishments.

New review.we forgot about asking for a bottle of white wine last year.said we pay for it.wasnt in the room.this year again.a bottle of white wine only.we dont drink the red.got the red wine.left it in the room.and sorry lady at snack bar is gloomy.alot of staff ok,as was kratikas at pool bar.the teatime manager at restaurant was a let down.seems to hover at inside bar.tall skinny dark skinned.black hair.white trainers.he was like.i dont want to be here.mexican night was the best.sorry after that.it was hard to eat.had to eat basic food.and drinks were a let down.beer is around 3% if that.in the end got myphos at the shop.very unlikely we be back ever.
