Delfinia Resort

Me and my friend went here for a week as we got it cheap and it was also labelled to be a 4 star hotel. On our arrival the front desk weren’t very welcoming we just got handed our room key and told what floor to go to. We had to locate the restaurant,pool entertainment etc ourselves which was strange to me as everyone hotel I’ve been to have always told us where to go and where entertainment is help and just refusal information needed on arrival. Our room was again it had a nice view. It wasn’t cleaned well, when I had a look at the shower it looked like someone had used it before we entered, and the bathroom didn’t smell very nice throughout the whole hotel it smelt like sewage, not all the time but we did stop using our bathroom for a few hours has the smell was horrid. Even the public toilets smelt horrible and I had never seen them been cleaned in my whole week there. There was constant wee on toilet seats there was even blood in the tissue after a few trips there I resorted to going all the way up to my room for the toilet as they were unbearable. There was also a little shelf above our bed which has clearly not been cleaned or dusted in months and it was right above where we slept which wasn’t a nice thought. The hotel was pretty small you could explore everything within 5 minutes, the pool was pretty small as well which we were surprised about as it looked pretty big in the photos, luckily we didn’t go at a busy time but if we did it would’ve been packed pretty quickly. There are two beaches close by one was around 3 min walk and the other around 10, the one further away was much nicer and you could get boats and ferry’s from there which is ideal if you wanna go around exploring. We did all inclusive and the buffet wasn’t as big as I expected, they didn’t have many options and most the time they had the same foods on rotation. My friend was served fish which wasn’t cooked fully it was mushy and raw in the middle so we stopped eating many meats that were served. If you don’t like parsley then I wouldn’t go as most foods were drenched in parsley as a garnish. They had a decent salad bar which I was glad for as some days I didn’t like much from the buffet so I would resort to salad. The drinks were nice but the bar staff would fill mine and my friends drink 3/4 of the way with alcohol even after asking for a single. The bar staff were overly friendly and made us feel uncomfortable as they kept complementing us telling us they would be good partners and that they would give my friend a good massage which I think is highly unprofessional. I also know that they were knowingly serving an underaged girl alcohol without her parents around and another girl who was very young drank way to much and got horribly sick. This is so unprofessional and completely dangerous! I believe the only reason they have a 4 star is because they have nicer hotel across the street with independent pools and much nicer than this hotel because there is no way this hotel is 4 starts. We were very disappointed with the holiday mainly with the staff and cleanliness which really let it down. If it was me I wouldn’t waste my money on this hotel and get a much nicer one!

I'm not sure I back their claimed 4 star status, which was mirrored by those on my transfer home when looking at other hotels, though I had a nice time. The hotel is due an upgrade. Food was bland and mostly overcooked, lounge chairs fading and threadbare, heating system works sporadically, and a lot of insects coming in under the door. The electric "do not disturb" sign is tempermental. The WIFI was spotty so unable to connect consistently or use on the TV. The shower curtain doesn't reach the cubicle so you flood the bathroom after each shower, plus no bathroom shelving. Though, I have to say the staff really are an asset to this hotel. Mikey, the entertainment lead brings a much needed atmosphere and spirit to the place, and restaurant and reception staff are as accommodating as they can be. However, if you are vegan, stay somewhere that could cater to your needs, as their signage is not great and you may be having all you can eat chips.

Entertainment brilliant and bar staff was great

I found a great deal for myself my husband and our 13 year old. Expectations were low as we paid roughly 280pp for the week all inclusive but we were just looking for a break away from home. However we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. We had a room just off the main reception overlooking the main pool. The pool opens at 10am this is usually when the music starts and this continues throughout the day until 5pm when the pool closes. There are plenty activities to keep everyone entertained. We visited at the tail end of the Easter break and noted our last few days were alot quieter and calmer in the hotel and around the pool. Room was spacious and had 2 double beds. Room was cleaned every day, shower great. My husbands only gripe was that we had to visit reception each day for a 3rd towel for our son. But reception were very helpful and always apologised. Food was plentiful. However was repetitive in the evenings. There was always spaghetti Bolognese/Napoli each evening along with rice or potatoes and usually a choice of fish and 2 meats. As well as pizza and nuggets/onion rings for the kids. We ate really well each day and had absolutely no complaints about the food at all. Breakfast was the same each day but you can't really vary breakfast in my opinion. Plenty pancakes for the kids also. Drinks were great. Cocktails all hand made- not premixed as in some hotels I have visited. The area itself was quiet but we are still out of season so was to be expected. We took the public bus to Rhodes town- this was very easy to do from the hotel. We also went on a day trip to Symi island which I thoroughly recommend. If you are looking for a genuine 4 star hotel then this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a base to explore the island whilst also having good clean facilities then I would recommend Delfinia resort. The staff all work really hard and are an asset to the hotel. We loved our time here. Thank you

Honestly we had read reviews about the food and were concerned but there was nothing to be worried about. You should make your own mind up! Food was excellent. H&S rules followed. Lots of selection. Very tasty. The room was cleaned twice a day. Staff very friendly. Receptionist was amazing. Very good service. Good location. 10mins walk to town. Restaurant can get very busy at certain times of the day. The main pool can get quite noisy and the music was very loud. We had a Room with a shared pool. Beds are a bit worn out. Room could do with a touch up. But on the whole this was the best all inclusive outside of the Caribbean that we have been too.
