Esperos Village Blue & Spa - Adults Only

We booked a country room and I’d sent over an email requesting one which had the maximum amount of sun on the terrace. We just wanted to chill out there rather than at the main pool. What we got was a dark room whose terrace lost the sun at 9.30am, I did request a new room and a couple of days later we got a fantastic room. The same grade but with a lovely sunny terrace and view. We also felt the first room ( 118) was older….might be wrong! There was no sofa in there and the fridge took a good shove to actually shut it. The wardrobe had a curtain in the new room which was fab rather than doors which when opened got in the way of the main door and bathroom. The private pools are cold, bear this in mind, it’s more of a plunge pool The receptionists and dining room staff were amazing and lovely as were the drivers who ferried us around. Can’t say the same for one of the bar staff who was sullen, moody and at times quite rude! We picked a sun bed on our first day and used the call button for drinks, nobody came so I trekked to the bar and was told the button won’t work today as it’s attached to a bar that’s not open! The bar that was closed was being used for a photo shoot!! We had three spa treatments, we loved them. The staff were so nice and it felt really luxurious and relaxing. . We loved the food and the gym was nicely equipped and clean. So our new room 146 is among the numbers to ask for if having sun on your terrace and pool is important to you. It’s easy to get lost if you decide to walk around so be prepared for that, we didn’t mind as it was fun seeing all the different alleyways. We loved the tip from someone’s review on here to refill your water bottles from the gym rather than keep buying them…..thank you. The onsite shop is brilliant and fairly priced, we brought our own alcohol from duty free on the way here so we just bought mixers from the shop. A little tip for the actual restaurants…..the butter is nowhere near the bread!!! Look for the table with salad stuff on it. On the whole we had a really nice week, would we come again??? Probably not unless we were going to book direct and get a better room higher up. We came with EasyJet holidays and the room we had was the best one they offered.

This hotel’s main advantage is its staff, they are all really exceptional from house keepers to reception team, from its drivers to dining room personal and they all work so hard to make you feel special. Special Thanks to Andrea from guest relations, she is always helpful and looks for ways to go extra mile to anticipate your needs before you even bring it to her attention. Dining Room staff is really on the ball, they work so hard to keep you happy. Special thanks to Kemal, true gentleman and so kind to his team members. They all speak so highly of him. Congratulations to him for being a father recently. Not to forget Harris, Nisa, Ron Ron, and all the others, they are all so kind and helpful. I will miss my double Greek Coffee with little sugar in the mornings and remember them when I make my own at home. Once they know you and what you like ie coffee, tea etc they do it before you even ask them which I call a great service. I hope they are being well looked after as they all work so hard for the company, remember ‘happy staff, happy customers’ Not to forget Zeevan, pool towel person, so polite and so kind, great customer service. Facilities is great except beach option. There is a bus service to their sister hotel’s beach area but they charge €20 per couple which I found is a bit unnecessary as it’s your sister hotel and our booking site did not mention that, not hotel’s fault but nevertheless is not necessary, bear in mind the beach is definitely not sandy beach and sea entry is full of big stones/rocks which is very uncomfortable to even walk in it, so it’s not worth the payment anyways. We stayed in one of the private pool rooms, it is good to have it but even if you don’t have private pool there is a lot of section beside the two pool area you would feel comfortable. It’s Adults only and no loud music so it’s relaxing and quiet at all times. Dining in the evenings with different themes is great idea, having a plated starter option is great bonus, I think you should do that for the mains as well. One suggestion I would make is to make a grill option and do it in front of the guest ie not on the display just bbq on the go, that would be a great addition/show, the dessert section needs a makeover as there are too many jellied coloured desserts and very similar to each other. But overall you would find something you like and you won’t go hungry. We went to Rhodes old town twice and Lindos once with public busses, it’s cheap and easy however coming back from Rhodes and Lindos bus service a little bit unorganised, once you are in the bus you are ok. We loved the Rhodes old town, there is a lot to see and a lot of great shopping options, I couldn’t say the same for Lindos. It’s a tourist trap with expensive shops and restaurants with no good food or services, definitely not recommend the acropolis, entry is €20pp and absolutely nothing in it apart from the view for the photos which you can take elsewhere without entering the acropolis itself. Rhodes is great place to be, would we come back not so sure, looking for new destinations always but if we come back we would stay the same hotel again. Once again thanks to all the staff working here in Esperos Village Blue and Spa for their hard work to make our holiday a memorable one.

This was our 3 rd year running staying at the hotel, so that in itself must say something. The staff are friendly , approachable, always very professional,Hardworking to maintain the high standard of the hotel. We were half board and as always the food was excellent ( not quite sure why people have complaints) !! Also the management do listen and take action on any feedback they do receive. The situation of the hotel is in a good location and views are super. The complimentary resort bus is ideal but customers who have impaired mobility might find the complex difficult but then you should be aware of that before making the reservation.

Back yesterday from our October stay and first time to Rhodes. Arrival smooth - the transfer bus does take the LONG dark back route up to the hotel only to come down again the other side so don't be alarmed at first if you think you're in the middle of nowhere. first impressions- great and classy. TIP: if you are on a late flight in - everything will be shut - they do provide a little fruit bowl and small plate of dry sandwiches, basic cheese and ham which considering the quality of food in the hotel we did think this was quite poor for arrival / first impression looking back. . partner is Vegan and it was a small roll with half a tomatoe, half a slice of cumcumber and half a carrot on dry bread. so bring a snack! Rooms are very spacious, we were in room 405 exclusive updated room with private pool.- lovely location a bit higher up with sea view. was the pool worth it? hmm i don't think so. perhaps in height of summer but we had 27 degrees and private pool was cold, some jets wern't working, needed some paint work too on the deck. sun goes off it early afternoon as resort faces east. if i booked again i don't know if i would book the pool rooms but having said that if i didn't have the pool i would probably be jealous of the people who did on a first visit. but its not needed AT ALL for a great stay. balconies didn't feel private. low side walls and balconies literally looking over onto you from above. can feel a bit awkward. TIP: check out the secret pool just along from these rooms. cold and refreshing but i swam here every day around 5pm before dinner and had whole pool and area to myself. good for the mind as surrounded by pine trees and to get some lengths in before dinner! Food we found fantastic- exceeded expectations. no need for the other restaurants- the main buffet has everything u need and more. TIP: at 6.30 a long line starts to form. its worth getting there for around 6.15pm in the lobby so you can pick a good table next to a window and also take pics of all the food untouched like a display. VEGAN friendly - lots of options. a whole corner dedicated with options that changed nightly and were creative, make sure to email ahead just to remind them if you are vegan. TIP: ask the waiter/chef each night for your vegan desert they will give you a vegan cake each night that's different. my husband really liked this as sometimes deserts are missed etc. he found breakfast the least friendly for vegan, more basic, although still options,. just not as much as dinner and lunch - he loved the open vegan sandwich and super salad for lunch.- but even he said he was so happy with the vegan food it exceeded his expectations. so if you are vegan. feel confident you won't go hungry. seemed like vegan options alot in rhodes old town too. Iced coffee at breakfast are free but suddenly shoot up to 6 euros each once you are by the pool for the exact same drink. things can feel a little pricey outside your halfboard. Pool - we got to breakfast for 8.30, done by 9am ( prefered the smaller outside terrace for breakfast) and got good spots by the pool. after 10am it looked to be more difficult to find a spot and definately mid afternoon onwards. but it wasn't a morning rush to get sun beds like some resorts. towels can be picked up/changed by the pool. TIP: the cabanas look nice but are shaded most of the day - not a good choice. We found the sunbeds infront of the spa pool ( we were the first beds in the corner each day) a great spot as had option for sun but also needed shade on one of the beds too as the day went on, you will want some shade! also these are between both pools and we felt more private. if you are slightly along a bit and directly in front of any of the pools(spa and main pool) though be mindful if anyone swims to heavily to the edge you can get wet! so don't go to close to the wall with your books etc.. a few times we saw people get literally drenched whilst reading. like a Sea World Whale show splash zone. bit of a poor design there for the infinity pools. TIP: most people had footwear they wore to the steps of the pool. as can be slippery. Staff - we found most staff really friendly, especailly reception and dinner staff, the pool bar staff were a little moody sometimes , not unfriendly , just a little lack-luster for a hotel i would say, more like your local cafe ' cant be bothered energy'. The shop on site is great for drinks, beers literally 2 euro compared to 7 euro each in the bar! TIP: the gym has a water tank too so good to fill up water up there when its refilled as constant bottles of water from the shop can get pricey. -2 x Toilet doors don't lock. but are always spotlessly clean. -be sure to visit the church at the top for great views and greek vibes. -Bus to Rhodes - bus stop at bottom of resort direct into rhodes - get off last stop and you CAN pay on card on the bus. we did our whole trip with zero cash. same bus back - more like a shuttle bus stopping at the hotels along the way. takes about 20-25 mins due to stops but would be quicker if you were just driving it but very simple and fail proof and no need to spend on private taxi. check out rhodes old town in evening all lite up. Falarki - a bit trashy! 45 min walk from resort along the road, not much going on outside of this resort at all , no where to walk along beach etc in evening like other holidays and beach did look a bit grubby.in falarki. So glad we choose this hotel over Cooks Club which was our other option and came recommeded. would highly recommend ESPEROS, its classy and designed very well with stunning windows and views, interior choices etc. location perfect - landscape pictureesque with pine trees, olive trees and fir trees, I think they have something really special here. just some fine little tweaks would make this 100% 5 star , i would still give it 5 star but it just fell short on a few simple things which i think if you stayed here you would understand but also quite hard to specifically put your finger on. but you will have a wonderful stay if you choose here. other hotels in the area looked nowhere near as nice!!! we were quite smug getting off the transfer bus! enjoy your stay!! and take a high SPF! that greek sun is no joke! burnt on day 1 .

Fabulous holiday village, great food at every mealtime, Burger house was a highlight, delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Comfortable rooms. Can’t praise highly enough. We have booked to go back next year
