Ialyssos Bay

We stayed at this hotel on an all inclusive TUI deal, and found it excellent. Room hire and clean, can be serviced daily if you want. Food of a good standard and variety, decent drinks selection at the bar and outdoor pool bar. All of the staff were 10/10 for friendliness and service. Location is easy to get into Ialysos (walk 10 minutes) and the shuttle bus to Rhodes town is frequent and easy to book or pay the driver. Beach is 50m away with sun loungers available to rent from reception (€5). We would certainly recommend Ialysos Bay.

This hotel is a 15/20 minute walk to restaurants and bars, a short bus ride into Rhodes Centre. The atmosphere overall is pleasant enough The rooms are spacious, clean and the air con is effective. The value for money is okay for what we paid, but the food was high volume buffet which wasn't always that nice, I struggled to eat some evenings Throughout the day, they put entertainment on by the pool, which disrupted the general calmness around the pool, but some guests seemed to enjoy this, other than planes going over quite often, the noise level was fine The service was okay, as a buffet style all inclusive we didn't really interact with the hotel staff much I would have preferred to have eaten out most evenings as there quite a few local bars and restaurants that we could have tried a few for a sit down meal rather than staying in the hotel

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel.A few things have changed since our last visit in 2010.Their is an outdoor gym, a little train can take you around the town cost 9 euro per person.You can book a mini bus to take you to Rhodes town.Please be warned their is no smoking on the balconies if caught a fine of 250 euros.My only concern is that at the front of the hotel people were smoking.To me that does not give a good impression of the hotel.Maybe the management could find a space around the grounds for a smoking area thus creating a cleaner image for the hotel.

We have just returned from another amazing holiday at Ilayssos bay, we enjoyed our trip so much so we stayed an extra 3 days which was truly fantastic ❤️ we love the cleanliness the food and the staff all of which work very very hard throughout the whole season and still have a cheerful smile for you each day, I can see some guests have mentioned the noise of works next door we was pretty close to this from our room and it never affected us and that will be completed in 2027 ready for the next season. We would like to personally thank everyone who made our trip especially amazing again, we will see you all next year hope you all have a nice rest ❤️🙏

Overall, the hotel feels closer to 3–3.5 stars in terms of experience. Staff & Service The staff are genuinely lovely — friendly, helpful, and always present around the grounds keeping everything clean and tidy. However, one day we did here a man shouting quite aggressively at the women wait staff. Food & Dining Breakfast: Plenty of choice. The warm dishes were often lukewarm, but the variety was good. Coffee, tea, and juice options were fine. Lunch & Dinner: Acceptable with a good range of options. The quality and taste felt in line with a 3–3.5 star hotel. Compared with other 4‑stars in Europe, it’s not quite there yet for me. The bread was consistently fresh and delicious — though it would be helpful to move the butter and margarine to the bread station. A small but important point: clearer signage would help guests understand to use only the utensils placed in front of each dish. I saw several people using the same tongs across multiple desserts, which risks allergen contamination. Pool & Facilities The pool is beautiful and kept very clean. Open 10-6 only. Water pressure and temperature in my room were good, though my bath struggled to drain properly and leaked onto the floor after I washed my hair. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas (in September there was no competition for them). Great adult activities — aqua aerobics, yoga, pilates. The beach is very close. Rooms Rooms and facilities are quite clean, and housekeeping staff work hard to keep everything neat. Drinks For local spirits, the cocktails were good enough. When I wanted something fancier, I went down to Patty’s. I wasn’t a fan of the local soft drinks/mixers. Maintenance I was accidentally locked in my room one night. Maintenance arrived within an hour to get me out, provided a temporary fix, and returned the next morning to repair it properly. Location The local town/strip has great bars and restaurants. If I stayed again, I probably wouldn’t choose all‑inclusive. Its about 30 minute drive from Rhodes Town. (Bus or Taxi is a must) The coffee shop/bakery near the bus stop (5–10 min walk) is excellent — affordable and great quality. Disappointments 1. Smoking/Vaping I vape and used to smoke. I fully support segregation, but not being allowed to vape on my own balcony in the morning or evening was a nuisance — especially during the 2–3 days of rain. I think this policy could be revisited. 2. Extra Fees This was the biggest factor that made the hotel feel 3‑star rather than 4‑star. It was giving budget airline vibes. There are deposits and payments for some activities like tennis and billiards etc, deposits and fees for pool towels, and all‑inclusive ends at 11pm. After that, you pay. There are also €250 "fines" for smoking/vaping anywhere but the 4 designated areas on the property. You pay for towels and again to swap them mid‑week. These should be made clearer at booking. You also pay for sunbeds on the beach. We had a late flight home, and asked before we departed if we could have a late check-out. We were told its not possible. Then when we arrived, they said we would have to check back the day before. Then we were offered until 3pm €40, until 6pm €80. But we may not get the same room. Which kind of defeats the purpose, as we would have to be fully packed by check-out. Very odd. 3. Access to Water & Ice The onsite shop is great and affordable. However, drinking water is easy to get at meal times but not between. We ended up buying large bottles for only 80 cents, which was fine — but more accessible water stations would help. Although the room fridges were quite small. 5. Sunbed Area Practicalities It would be great to have small tables near sunbeds — ants get into food and drinks. A clothes line on the balcony would also be very useful. 6. The cats around the hotel were one of my favourite parts of the stay — I met several guests who told me they return every year because of them. I rescued a 4‑week‑old kitten during my visit, and while the reception team were helpful enough at the start, I struggled to find wider support and spent much of my holiday caring for her and contacting any and all rescues and volunteer groups by social media, email, phone calls, direct messages etc. I’m grateful to Animal Care Kremasti for their quick and affordable help, but they couldn't keep her to care for her either. Given how many cats live around the island and hotel, I think a partnership with a local group like Tsambicats or other volunteers could make a huge difference. Their Hotel Project supports neutering, care, and guest guidance — something I know many visitors (myself included) would be grateful for and may be willing to donate to. It would be wonderful for both the cats and the guest experience. Responsible conservation is very attractive to a lot of people.
