This is going to be a long review . We arrived Monday morning , around 1 a.m. Check in was quick and easy , with friendly and welcoming staff . and our cases were taken to the room . Once there , we found that the lights had been left on , making it feel homely , and that there were sandwiches and water in the fridge . The room itself was well appointed . There was a safe , iron and board , hairdryer , kettle , nespresso machine and good aircon . in one corner of our room stood a chair and reading lamp , which came in for good use . It was also very clean . if you wanted , you could have the room cleaned daily . We didn't bother on some days as we aren't very messy . On the days that we opted in , a bottle of fresh water was always left . The bathroom was not the biggest we have ever had , but that was not a problem . The shower enclosure was a good size and there was always hot water . The bed was extremely comfy , with good pillows and a light duvet . We arrived for breakfast a little later on and found a lovely , bright eating area . Not once did we struggle to find a table . What we really liked was that the food area and the tables were separate from each other . This gave you a feel that you weren't in a canteen . All the meals that we had were very good quality and featured multiple choices . We were greeted at mealtimes by Mrs Georgia and Mr Manolis , and always with a pleasant smile . Mrs Georgia probably did around 10,000 steps per sitting . The food was constantly replenished by very discreet staff who were very well organised . The pool area was really nice , with lots of sunbeds . The water is a little cold but fine once in . Mention should be made that there was always a Lifeguard present ( Pawel ) , who was always alert . Given where the sun rises and sets , you could start sunbathing around 8 a.m. and finish at 6 p.m. Starting around 9 a.m. is the entertainment team , fronted by Rio . An absolute fountain of energy , he speaks around 7 languages and will make you feel guilty in all of them for not joining in ( just kidding Mr Rio ) . He makes a successful effort to get to know people and really gets involved , especially the aqua aerobics . The team carry on into the night , where the entertainment is usually various vocal groups singing and dancing . There is a Greek night , which is good , but don't expect plate smashing ! The evening entertainment is usually by the Lounge Bar , which is run like a very well oiled machine . They always remembered your drinks order , even though we changed our drinks regularly ( not on purpose ) . One of us had a Spa treatment ( not me ) . The spa was very soothing and spacious . Mention should be made of Panagiota , who runs the Spa . Very pleasant and recommends treatments without pushing them . I was told that the spa visit was soothing and relaxing . As part of the all inclusive deal , you are allowed two A La Carte evenings . These are Italian and Steak Night . These are out by the pool bar in an area that is set up like a restaurant . For both nights , our waiter was Tsampikos . He was friendly , attentive and made very good recommendations for the wine . I would say that both nights featured too much food . Starters were big , as was the main course . The pool bar opens around 9 a.m. and is usually run by Sakis . He is friendly , efficient and also remembers what you drink . There is food available at the pool bar , which was tasty and varied . Special thanks to Angela , who prepared the food and also made sure that the chicken on the rotisserie was fabulous . There is a regular bus service to Rhodes , which was good value at 4 euros each . Kolimbia itself is your standard Greek town , but is bigger than it seems . The Hotel has an onsite shop , which sells a decent range of things , including a good supply of crisps . As I said at the start , it's a long review , but this is because the hotel is getting an awful lot of the details right .
We booked the Leonardo Kolymbia three weeks before our holiday as the one we had booked was cancelled. We’d never visited Rhodes before so we were unsure where to book. We booked the hotel purely on the amazing Trip Advisor reviews and hoped for the best. We contacted the hotel as soon as we had booked as our son is autistic and he likes to be in a quiet area of a hotel with no interconnecting doors. We were also visiting a few days before his 18th birthday. We were told that on arrival they would try and accommodate the requests. We arrived and were greeted warmly by Irene and given Prosecco on arrival and a non alcoholic drink for our son as his 18th birthday was the end of the week. Nothing was too much trouble. We honestly felt like we were treated like VIP’s. Mateo took our case and escorted us to our room, which again was unexpected. He showed us how to work everything in the room. We were allocated a room in the new block right on the end which was beautiful. The rooms are on the small side but very beautiful. We had been left wine and fruit on arrival. We were very happy with the room we had been given. The view from our room was perfect. On our first full day Irene arranged for a cake to be left in our room for our son’s birthday and he was absolutely delighted, we couldn’t thank her enough for this. Throughout our stay all the staff treated us with the same high, but very friendly standard. Angela on the snack bar was truly delightful and after saying I had a dairy allergy, she made sure to make me a turkey sandwich each day of my stay. Sakis made fantastic drinks and again was so lovely and friendly. The spa manager was so lovely (I’m sorry I didn’t get her name) and I used the sauna and steam room each day of our stay. She brought me a pot of tea each time and was made to feel so welcome and valued. Lilibet did such a lovely full body massage, the highlight was the neck and scalp massage. Rio who did the entertainment did a fantastic job and got everyone joining in. Our son really enjoyed the entertainment. The food in the restaurant was plentiful and lovely Greek food, which we all enjoyed. We ate at the A La Carte steak and Italian restaurants. The food again was beautiful. My only criticism at all is on arrival I had to complete a form that I had a dairy allergy. Both times eating at the A La Carte restaurants the shared starters and my main meal came with cheese on. I didn’t eat the starters but had to send my spaghetti bolognaise back as it specifically said it contained no dairy on the menu. The staff apologised and made me a fresh meal, which wasn’t a problem. I do feel this is the only thing the hotel could improve on. One night we sat at the bar and we didn’t even have to ask for new drinks. The staff knew our order and automatically bought new drinks as we were getting near to finishing them. We absolutely loved our stay at Leonardo Kolymbia. We only visited for 4 nights and we were so sad to leave. The hotel is spotlessly clean, lovely quiet location and stunning inside. What truly makes this hotel outstanding is the staff that look after guests so well and make you feel like you are a returning guest on your first visit. We will definitely be returning and if we’d not already booked our summer holiday 2027, returning would be top of our list.
The hotel was really nice, the bar staff was incredibly polite and helpful. I absolutely adored the spa, the service was very nice. I went there with my family and the room was very comfortable. I took my kids to the kid's club with Egosa(I'm not sure how to spell it). She seemed really young but my kids loved staying with her and kept asking to go back. The food was also great and had many options
All the staff were very helpful and kind. Georgia and kola were so lovely, made us feel at home. Very special ladies. We’re vegetarian and gluten free, and they went out of their way to provide many delicious options for us. The rooms are nicely laid out, and the area surrounding is so beautiful. Would 100% visit again, the stay was really enjoyable!
A lovely hotel where the staff are so friendly and treat you like family. Lots of choice for food, all buffet style. We were there during the recent Amber alert and storm. The staff worked so hard to help all the guests and keep us comfortable. We were moved by our travel company to a different resort, we were sad to go and hope the staff and hotel recovered ok. A shout out to Rico for organising all the entertainment, Sakis at the pool bar and George at the Lobby bar for remembering our drinks. We will definitely return.
