We’ve just got back from a week at Lindos Royal Resort, so I wanted to leave an honest review because there were definitely some good things about the hotel, but also a few things I wish we had known before booking. Check-in & staff When we arrived, the girl who checked us in was lovely. In general, I have to say the staff were really nice throughout our stay. We had an issue with our original room and asked to move, and they were really accommodating and did their best to help us. We also noticed other people having room issues and, from what we saw, they were generally willing to move people where they could. Swim-up rooms – something to REALLY consider If you are booking a swim-up room specifically because you want privacy, I would honestly think twice. none of the swim-up rooms are particularly private. They are either beside/in front of the restaurant, near the kids’ pool or around the slides, meaning people are constantly walking past. We originally booked a swim-up with a garden view, but from what we experienced, the rooms advertised this way don’t really have what I would consider a garden view. We actually asked to change rooms when we arrived because we weren’t happy with our original room. While the hotel was very accommodating, we also noticed at least three other people during our stay who had moved from their original swim-up rooms to different swim-up rooms. So if you’re booking a swim-up expecting a private, romantic pool outside your room, I definitely wouldn’t book this hotel for that reason. Our second room itself was nice. The air conditioning worked well, the Wi-Fi was really good and we couldn’t hear much through the walls, which was great. The bathroom was also good, with the toilet separate from the shower area. One thing to be aware of, though, is that you can hear a lot through the doors. Our room was right beside the restaurant, so people were constantly walking past our door. You could hear people coming and going in the morning, at night and throughout the day. The hotel itself For me, this is where the hotel really falls short. I agree with a lot of the other reviews that describe it as more of a three-star experience rather than what you would expect from a five-star hotel. The facilities are quite run down in places and the whole resort could definitely do with some investment and updating. Personally, I wouldn’t have minded this as much if it was marketed and priced as a three-star hotel. The issue is that because it is classed as a five-star, you pay more in tourist tax we paid around €105 for the week and naturally your expectations are much higher. There are also very few lights around the resort, so parts of it are extremely dark at night. This was something we noticed quite a lot. See images If you’re booking it knowing exactly what you’re getting, I think you could have a good holiday here. But if you’re expecting a luxury five-star experience, I don’t think it will meet those expectations. I also wouldn’t recommend it as a honeymoon or private romantic getaway. The lack of privacy around the swim-up rooms in particular would be a big consideration for me. Food The food was actually one of the positives for us. I genuinely enjoyed it. I’m not a particularly picky eater and I did try quite a few new things while we were there, but I found the food to be tasty and not just bland all-inclusive food. There was always something we could find that we liked. That being said, the selection is quite limited compared with other all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed in. But for us personally, there was always enough choice and what was there was nice. Drinks This was probably one of our biggest issues with the hotel. For an all-inclusive, you obviously expect unlimited drinks to be one of the main perks. Unfortunately, the soft drinks were genuinely not nice. The Coke, lemonade, Pepsi etc. were extremely watered down and often weren’t fizzy. We tried drinks from different pool bars and had the same experience. The alcoholic drinks were actually much better, and we particularly liked the rosé. But if you don’t drink alcohol, I would definitely take this into consideration because the soft drink options weren’t great. We actually ended up going to the shop to buy our own drinks, which I don’t think you should really have to do at an all-inclusive. There was always plenty of water available, though, which was good. Pool bar & snacks The pool bar was quite busy and the snack selection was fairly limited. Every day there was pizza and chips, and then another option that changed — things like gyros, hot dogs, burgers, kebabs, burger in pita or sausage in pita. We had expected gyros to be available more regularly, but we only saw it once or twice during the week. Again, the food that was there was actually nice, but the choice was limited. Location The location is actually quite good. There is a small beach nearby and you’re also close to a small village area, so you aren’t completely isolated. The image of the beach on the websites on easyJet actually isn’t the beach you have it’s a very small beach ist maybe 10 beds. Overall I think this hotel really depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a relatively affordable all-inclusive holiday and you’re happy with a more basic three-star standard, I think you could enjoy it. The staff are lovely, the food is genuinely tasty and the location is good. But if you’re booking because it’s advertised as a five-star and you’re expecting a five-star experience, I would manage your expectations. For us, the biggest things were the lack of privacy with the swim-up rooms, the run-down facilities, the poor soft drinks and how dark the resort is at night. Would we stay again? Probably not. We did have a nice holiday and there were definitely things we enjoyed, but personally, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again when there are other options available.
we have just returned from a 10 night stay at the lindos royal hotel feeling deeply disappointed with our stay. But reading the previous reviews it wasnt unexpected. on arrival the entrance and reception were beautiful. but it soon went downhill, being shown to our upgraded room, we simply turned around and asked for our original room which they did immediately. our room was satisfactory but it had no kettle and a fridge with one bottle of water in it. one day our aircon broke and after 3 phone calls and 3 hours later waiting for management to contact us, a staff member came up and turned the power on and off which reset the aircon. the room was cleaned to a good standard. The food was varied and of good quality especially the curry night. The hotel is in need of a major revamp, the exterior of the buildings are neglected and the lower bar by the pool smells of damp/ stagnant water or worse. how the staff work in there is beyond belief. there are not enough sunbeds and they need replacing as well.the pool area was always flooded with pool water which was really dangerous to walk on and bins not always emptied .there are 2 beach areas in close proximity which were lovely. the entertainment area is too small with people sitting on the sunloungers to view with the 3 gents from south africa the highlight. the was no daily activities to do even though the entertainment staff present. the staff seemed miserable but that comes down to management which were non existent . we think we saw one manager but he walked around all the time on his phone. taxis are also expensive usually 30 euros one way. THIS HOTEL IS DEFINITELY NOT 5* , AT MAX A 3* AT A PUSH WHICH WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE IN THE CURRENT CONDITION OF THE HOTEL. It has been neglected for too long and needs a massive refurb
Unfortunately, this hotel is nowhere near the standard I would expect from a 5-star property. Based on our experience, I would rate it no more than 2 stars. We had ants throughout the room, including all over the bed and in the bathroom, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one advertised as 5-star. The rooms are extremely outdated, worn and damaged, with a general lack of maintenance that is immediately noticeable. The buildings and pool also appear to be falling apart and badly in need of renovation. The food was another major disappointment. It was very basic, cheap and lacking the quality you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, we also had a very uncomfortable experience involving one of the barmen and my daughter. His behaviour towards her was inappropriate and made her feel so uncomfortable that she no longer wanted to go to the bar at all. As a parent, this was particularly upsetting and is something I would expect hotel management to take extremely seriously. The experience was made even worse by the reception staff, who were extremely rude and unhelpful. Overall, this hotel feels more like a 2-star property being marketed as 5-star. The condition of the rooms and facilities, the food quality, the pest issue, the poor customer service and the inappropriate behaviour towards my daughter simply do not match what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Very disappointing and definitely not somewhere I would recommend.
We stayed at the Lindos Royal Hotel for 10 nights with our family and friends — around 50 of us in total — for our wedding in Lindos and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. Everything was just perfect from start to finish. The food was absolutely lovely, with so much choice every day and there was always something for everyone. The quality and variety really impressed us, especially with such a large group. The staff were all so friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They were particularly amazing when some members of our wedding party needed to change rooms, they went out of their way to help and made everything as easy and stress-free as possible. A very special mention has to go to the hotel for the complimentary two-night stay in a suite that they gave me to use for my wedding day and evening. This was such a thoughtful and generous gesture, and it made such a special day even more memorable. Having that beautiful space to get ready and spend time with family and friends was something I will always appreciate. I have to admit, I was a little worried before arriving because I had read some of the negative reviews about the hotel. However, I can honestly say that our experience was completely different. From our perspective, the hotel was fantastic in every way and having 50 people stay there for our wedding, we really got to experience the hotel as a group. The Lindos Royal played a huge part in making our wedding and holiday so special. We made so many wonderful memories there, and we would happily return. A huge thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and for helping make our wedding week absolutely perfect. ❤️
Just not the best experience with this resort. We arrived at check-in extremely tired after our flight was delayed by 3 hours. Unfortunately, things got even more frustrating when we were not given the room we had booked and paid extra for a room with a sea view. Instead, we were given what felt like one of the worst rooms, with no air conditioning, despite the temperature being around 34°C outside. We were told our room would be changed the following day, but I had to visit reception three times to follow up and confirm this, as it seemed to keep getting delayed. The reception staff were also not particularly friendly or welcoming. The only exception was a male receptionist who was genuinely kind, helpful and professional. On day 3, we had booked dinner at one of the resort’s restaurants. The reservation had been confirmed by Wiki from reception, including the time. However, when we arrived, the restaurant told us there was no reservation and refused to accommodate us. This was extremely disappointing, as we could have made alternative plans if we had known in advance. Instead, we ended up spending the evening at the hotel. Unfortunately, the service at the main restaurant was also disappointing. There was a waitress called Maria who I politely asked for some water. Her response was very rude and dismissive, asking me why I didn’t know where the water was. Overall, the experience was far from what we expected from this resort. There were several issues with the room, communication, reservations and customer service, which really affected our stay. I personally would not recommend this resort based on our experience.
