Lindos Village Resort & Spa

I wanted a 10-day, relaxing, sunny, quiet place to charge my batteries for winter, and at Lindos Village Spa Resort that is exactly what I got. As it was end of season the hotel was very quiet with only a few guests, so no trouble getting a sun lounger by the pool. I was half board which worked for me - a fabulous buffet breakfast with so much choice it was hard to decide what to have; evening dinner was 5- course themed served by the staff. On the whole the food was excellent. Only one night was disappointing when I ordered pork which was fatty and a bit tough. The pool bar served food until 5.30pm, and there was all day room service available from early until late. The evening entertainment was tapering off as I was leaving, but there were a couple of quite good singers in the cocktail bar from 9 to 10.30pm. I didn’t use the well equipped gym, but did have a couple of superb, quite vigorous body massages. There is a well stocked small grocery shop on site where you can get food, drinks, souvenirs etc. one of the other hotels further down the hill has a small supermarket which is in walking distance. There were a couple of days of heavy rain and thunder & lightening, but on the whole the weather was good, about 24°. The staff are helpful and polite, though most are not local and are just there for the holiday season. Downsides - the location is quite isolated and by that I mean apart from other hotels & apartments it is too far away to walk into Lindos town. Walking downhill you come to a shingle beach, but the climb back up is pretty steep. - The hotel is sprawling with individual accommodation away from the main hotel. If your room is at the top of the complex then the pool area is down a considerable number of steps and quite a hike back up. If your room is at the bottom of the complex then you have to climb the steps to get to the restaurants and bar. - I had booked a Deluxe Room with a sea view. On arrival at midnight I was very disappointed with my room. It was dingy, a bit smelly, and the bathroom was awful. The sea view was virtually non existent. Next day, thanks to my independent travel adviser and Jet2, the hotel offered me a choice between 2 much brighter, nicely decorated, bright rooms with nice bathrooms and the promised sea view. After the move I was more than happy with everything. Would I stay there again - probably not. As a solo traveller I would prefer to be somewhere where I could walk and explore my surroundings more easily.

We had a great time at Lindos Village Resort & Spa! We loved the setting, the views, and the relaxing vibe of the hotel. The team was welcoming, and it was a lovely place to unwind and enjoy our time in Greece. We would definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

**A hotel that promises five-star luxury but delivers tired accommodation, poor maintenance and inadequate housekeeping.** We recently stayed at Lindos Village Resort in Room 230, and I feel compelled to leave this review because the reality of the hotel is a far cry from the glossy marketing photographs, website and promotional material used to advertise it. **Quite simply, this hotel does not live up to its advertised five-star status.** We originally booked a Deluxe Sea View Room but were subsequently upgraded to a Junior Suite. Naturally, we expected this to be an improvement. Unfortunately, the so-called upgrade was anything but impressive. The room offered only a very partial sea view, which was disappointing given our original booking. The Junior Suite itself was extremely tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Shower fittings were loose, the sink unit was visibly marked, and the grouting throughout the bathroom was dirty. These are basic maintenance and cleanliness issues that should be addressed as a matter of course in any respectable hotel, let alone one marketing itself as a luxury five-star resort. The problems were not confined to our room. The hotel's external areas were also showing considerable signs of wear and neglect. The overall impression was of a property that has been allowed to deteriorate while continuing to trade on its supposedly luxurious reputation. **The housekeeping standards were equally disappointing.** Our towels and bedding were not changed as frequently as we would reasonably expect, particularly from a hotel claiming to offer a five-star experience. Despite contacting reception about this, we were effectively blamed for the situation, with staff suggesting that we had activated the 'Do Not Disturb' light. We had done no such thing. To make matters worse, the actual switch controlling the 'Do Not Disturb' function was not labelled, making the hotel's response even more frustrating. Rather than acknowledging the issue or addressing our concerns professionally, the explanation appeared to place responsibility on us. We chose not to formally complain about the condition of the room during our stay, primarily because we were only there for a few days and spent very little time in it. However, that should not detract from the hotel's responsibility to provide accommodation that reflects the standard and price being advertised. **What I find particularly unacceptable is the apparent disparity between the hotel's marketing and the reality guests experience.** The website and promotional photography create an expectation of beautifully maintained rooms, high-quality facilities and a premium luxury experience. In our experience, this was simply not what was delivered. There is a significant difference between a hotel that is perhaps slightly dated but well maintained and one that continues to promote itself as a five-star luxury resort while failing to address obvious issues with its rooms, cleanliness and general upkeep. Lindos Village Resort fell firmly into the latter category during our visit. **My advice to prospective guests would be to look beyond the professional photographs and carefully consider whether this hotel genuinely represents the luxury experience you are paying for.** We have stayed in hotels with considerably lower star ratings that have offered far superior accommodation, attention to detail and housekeeping standards. Ultimately, the disappointment is not simply that the hotel needs refurbishment. It is that guests are being sold an expectation of five-star luxury which, in our experience, bears little resemblance to the reality. **A very disappointing stay, and certainly not somewhere I would recommend to anyone expecting a genuine five-star experience.**

First impressions of this hotel were positive, reception area is immaculate, hotel grounds are very well cared for and staff friendly. however the rooms themselves do not reflect the 5 star rating, we had a leaky underwhelming shower, no towel hooks, intermittent WiFi issues, room overall shabby and in need of tlc. The hotel also has live music every night which can be heard from the rooms. The location is also something to consider, whilst being advertised as within Lindos area it is by no means within walking distance and required to get a taxi/ bus to anywhere.
