Pegasos

I’m writing this review with an open mind as we were transferred to this hotel. So we did not pay the 5 star prices others did. Our original hotel was battered by the recent storms so we got moved to this hotel. On arrival this hotel looks amazing. We were greeted by a bell boy who promptly took our bags to our rooms after check in. First evening we arrived the restaurant was so full we were told to go back half an hour later as a party of 6 we defo wouldn’t get a table. The lifts in this hotel are not great. I have a baby in a pushchair so need to use the lifts a lot of my time was spent waiting for lifts which most of the time were full so I couldn’t get in them. The real issue came when it became apparent noro virus was rife in this hotel. And while I appreciate after reading up it’s a whole island problem this hotel tried to cover up the fact there was a noro virus problem. Guests were masked up around the hotel. Plastic gloves in the food area. This is nothing I’ve ever seen before in an all inclusive resort. Myself and 5/6 of my family were ill with noro virus during our stay here. One of my sons unfortunately didn’t make the toilet whilst vomiting one night. We called reception to get cleaning supplies to be told no cleaners were available until 6 am. To be clear we didn’t want them to clean it just to be provided with cleaning items to clean up the mess so it wasn’t spread anymore. Instead we had to clean the bathroom as best we could we towels and the shower head. It was only after I contacted jet 2 that the hotel were trying to help us delivering food to us in our rooms. After this as you can imagine we didn’t want to eat or drink at this hotel and have spent a small fortune eating and drinking elsewhere. Aside from the clear noro virus problem. This hotel isn’t 5 star by miles. You get one bottle of water on arrival after that you have to pay for it. The beach needs attention. 5 start hotels clean and rake their beach everyday. No such thing happens here. This whole holiday was a disappointment to me. This is not a 5 star hotel noro virus or not.

Fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean with well kept grounds and very helpful, friendly staff. Stayed in double deluxe room with sea view. Food was really good with an excellent choice to pick from, although the hot food wasn't as hot as I would have liked. Great location with bus stops right at the front of the hotel and taxis could be requested by asking the hotel reception staff. Sometimes though the staff were inundated with check-in/outs so additional reception staff would be useful at times. Overall we had a great holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel.

Not de luxe by any means. On our arrival at 10pm we asked about food. The girl at the desk advised there were cheese or ham rolls. No good as I’m lactose and gluten intolerant. When I asked about anything else, she just shrugged nonchalantly, like she didn’t care. Since then, food is okay but same things at lunch and dinner. apart from the pools there’s not much to do and entertainment is mediocre.

Location was lovely The atmosphere was like a 18-30 hotel, folkes drunk, sinking and causing a nuisance until early hours, hotel did nothing Room was lovely and clean Food was very poor, lack of selection and constantly cold Gym facility had most of equipment broken or faulty All inclusive drinks like drinking water Not value for money for the price Hotel is down as 5 Star, the only 5 star bit is the views

The hotel is great. Staff are good, facilities are great and the location is good - right on the beach and walking distance to falaraki. We booked two rooms, one for me and my partner, and one for our two adult children. Went to children’s room first, it was really nice and had a fantastic sea view. The only issue with the room is it was a weird bathroom set up. Although the toilet could be shut off, there was no door to the shower area which isn’t idea when a brother and sister are sharing. They had to shower / get ready to go out in turn as neither wanted to shower with the other in the room. My room is where it went down hill a little - clearly they are updating the hotel and whilst the kids room had been done up, ours was much more dated. Not a bad room, but not as nice as the updated room. Another negative - you can’t trust the labeling on the food for allergies. My partner is gluten free, and a few days we saw labels that stated no gluten, yet the food clearly contained it (tortilla wrap / pasta etc), and that was assuming the food was labelled as a lot of it wasn’t. Not a massive issue, but means if you have an allergy, be careful. We spoke to staff one day and there was a clear language barrier and we gave up. Outside the front of the hotel is a bus stop, and at the back in the beach (hotel next door) there is a water taxi pick up / drop off point where you can get a return to Rhodes for 18 euro each. GET A RETURN. We did thankfully, because when we went to get the last water taxi back, there were too many people for the boat and they gave priority to those with a return ticket…! There are multiple pools and plenty of comfy loungers. Drinks are standard - local beer, spirits and cocktails etc overall, we were happy with our stay and would go back.
