Rhodos Horizon Blu

Just returned from a weeks stay at the hotel. Throughly enjoyed ourselves. Handed a glass of Prosecco on arrival. Check in was quick & we paid the tourist tax. The lifts are very small & only 2 for the whole hotel so you need to be patient if using them. We stayed in an inland view room. The view wasn’t the best. Was overlooked by the other rooms but wasn’t a massive problem as we weren’t on the balcony or in the room much. On arrival it was 2 twin beds pushed together. Spoke to reception & they sent housekeeping straight up to put a double mattress topper on which was incredibly comfortable. TV had a few English channels showing back to back movies. Small fridge was handy for milk & chilling drinks. 2 small cups & kettle provided. We took our own tea & coffee but plenty in local supermarkets. We also bought some mugs from the €1 shop in the town as we like a good mug of tea rather then the small cups. Good size dressing table & chair & 2 big mirrors in room. Not a great deal of storage space, just a wardrobe. No drawers. Air con was excellent. Bathroom was great had a big walk in shower with small shower & rainfall shower. Both were powerful & hot. Plenty of loo roll left daily & towels changed as needed. Small hairdryer, but again was powerful. Our housekeeper on floor 3 (looking after room 304) was the loveliest lady we have ever met. She spoke to us every morning, wished us a lovely day & even started hugging us towards the end of our stay. Hopefully she enjoyed the big bar of galaxy choc we left her. We stayed b&b. What can we say about that…. The first morning we were overwhelmed by choice. There is literally everything you could ever want! They even had English bacon, crepes, every time of eggs, a chocolate fountain, fresh fruit, smoothies, pizza, you name it they had it. We only ate in the restaurant one evening. €20 per person for unlimited buffet, again so much choice. Drinks were reasonably priced too. We didn’t sit by the pool as wanted to explore Rhodes but we did have lunch at the snack bar one day which again was lovely & really good value. The hotel supermarket is reasonably priced & stocked but we mainly used the one down the street opposite the hotel entrance. Sunset was def worth a watch. Restaurants in the local area we would recommend are traditional Greek restaurant called Yamas. Home cooked food, really tasty & good value. We went twice. The Italian on the round about was also nice and Trolls bar for drinks was good. Be careful, there cocktails are strong. We also had slovakia twice from the little take away on the roundabout they were so tasty & cheap! The walk into old/new town can be a bit hairy, no footpaths, not great for pushchairs/wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. But old town is def worth the walk. It’s so beautiful. It’s a maze of shops, restaurants & breath taking buildings. All in all a great place, great hotel, everyone worked so hard & was so friendly.

We had a lovely stay! The hotel food was absolutely fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and polite throughout our visit. A couple of things to keep in mind: the rooms are quite small, and the lift is very compact (it holds a maximum of four normal-sized occupants, so it can get snug with luggage). That being said, Rhodes Town is amazing and only a short walk away. The excellent location, great service, and delicious food definitely made up for the room size. Would recommend for anyone looking to explore the area!

I would just like to mention The laddies in Spa at Horizon blu. Each of them are professional clinicians and take a pride in their work. Mary my operative was firm and tenacious in administration of my treatment, very rewarding Well done Laddies, see you next year

A fabulous, clean hotel with fabulous staff especially Irini and Samantha. Ideally situated from the town and old town. Beach right opposite Stayed three times now and booked for next year. The only downside to hotel is the two small lifts.

The location is perfect for the beach (Rocky) and a 20 minute walk into Rhodes Town. The hotel was very clean, although our room was looking a bit tired, but it was the end of the season. The food was excellent and there was a good variety for everyone to find something they like. Drinks and cocktails were varied and well presented. The snack bar down by the pool was very good too, with a lovely varied menu. Only downside is if it rains the snack bar table area is not protected from the rain. Lunch was moved indoors one day whilst we were there. Staff coped very well. The pool area itself is very small and cramped so not enough sunbeds for everyone staying in the hotel. The lifts are also very small. On arrival and departure we had to use separate lifts as we could only get one person and one case in a lift at a time. All of the staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful and some were outstanding. Denalda (aka Katarina) in the dining room on an evening was wonderful, friendly and informative. She made us feel so welcome and wanted. As did Irini in the breakfast buffet and snack bar at lunchtimes. Tibor in the snack bar was very helpful throughout our stay too. All three looked after us very well and we can’t wait to visit again and see them all. Our chambermaid was lovely too and left us beautiful towel art and gifts on an few occasions. Noel on reception was very helpful on email prior to our stay and when our excursion driver was nearly an hour late picking us up one day.
