We celebrated our 9 th wedding anniversary at Hotel Rhodos Horizon resort and stayed for a total of six days. The hotel is very well kept and clean with a very kind staff in the reception and the bar (especially Flora <3 ). We stayed in room 704. The terrace was exceptionally large with fantastic sea and town views. The wooden floor was however quite worn and a with few broken floorboards that would need to be fixed urgently. The layout and architecture of the room took a while to get used to. Worth noting is that the bed (which is actually a 25-30cm thick mattress) is located a few steps up from the general floor level. If you are having trouble with your legs or standing up/climbing stairs in the dark (as I do) this might constitute a problem. The other thing is that if you or your partner will need to get out of bed from the other side of the bed he or she will actually have to stand up and then walk over the bed to get down the stars to the bathroom/living area. Then there´s the doorless bathroom/toilet which we actually knew about when we booked the room but didn´t quite realize how annoying it really was. There´s absolutely no privacy when you use the toilet and the sounds and odours spread freely in the room after every visit. We used the Jacuzi once and asked the staff to fill it up and empty it as requested. Filling it up and closing it wen´t smoothly but for some reason the hotel forgot to empty it although we asked for it (twice). The minibar was filled up every day with lemonade, water and (one) bottle of beer but surprisingly the room wasn´t equipped with a bottle opener. When we mentioned this at the reception they told us to go to the bar to get one. At the bar we were presented with their only bottle opener and told to return it immedialely after use. So in order to open a bottle of lemonade from our minibar we were supposed to go down to the bar to get a bottle opener, then go up to our room and open the bottle, then go down to the bar to return the bottle opener and then go up to our room to enjoy the lemonade. Needless to say we bought a bottle opener in the nearby store. We absolutely loved our time in Rhodes and the nice staff at the hotel but If it werent for the views I think we would have been somewhat dissapointed with the room that cost us 3 100 euros for 6 nights (519 euros/night).
So, as I write this the WiFi keeps going off…it’s rubbish! Food is actually nice and hot, just lacks in variety. Massive scramble and queue for a sunbed at the main pool daily (choose the left side coz the sun doesn’t hit the right til beyond 12) The 2 animation girls are lovely but there’s nowt going on except water Zumba to the same 4 songs every day and a daily song of 2026 dance (if you don’t know it, get to know it!) We’ve had construction work every day that we weren’t told about. Entertainment is mediocre. Very clean and cannot complain about room service. It’s defo pensioners paradise. Would we return? That’ll be a NO!
Best Animation ever a very god Hotel and beautiful Country
Lovely location, hotel is very clean, rooms are decently sized. Only downside to my visit was the room was located at the back of the hotel and was woken up each morning between 3am - 4am, at least I knew the bins were emptied every day. Hotel is adults only and definitely feels that way. Have been to this hotel twice before but will explore another area of the island when I next go, but the hotel is perfect for days out to Rhodes town, there is two tourist buses priced at €20 per adult and you can use that all day, hop on and off as you please.
Just back from a amazing stay at the horizon,, they always go above and beyond,,big shout out to Martin sunset bar,,Dora in restaurant and kostas in the belvedere bar ,,drinks were excellent,,and Martin at reception,at the sunset all a credit to the hotel,,and the management make everyone feel welcome,,
