The food was not great, and the biggest disappointment was discovering that access to the swimming pool, bar, and area closest to the beach was restricted to guests staying in a “My Favourite Club” room. This was not made clear to us before our stay. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive hotels, but I’ve never been to one where so much of the hotel felt off-limits unless you had booked a particular room category. Our room also had a badly leaking toilet, with a lot of water coming out. We asked for it to be fixed five times, but even after that, the problem was not fully resolved. On top of this, the water pressure was often poor, and the water was not even warm. The one positive was the reception staff, who were great. Unfortunately, their helpfulness could not make up for the food, restricted access, and ongoing problems with the room. Based on our experience, I would not recommend spending your money here.

We stayed at Aluasoul Zakynthos in the final week of the season, which I think is important to recognise as staff were leaving (low staffed - manager even serving at the restaurant) and resources perhaps running down to use up last of food etc. Overall we had a very positive experience. We had a sea view room with a covered balcony which was a real treat and the room was immaculately clean (and had cleaning service daily). Beds were comfortable and bathroom very clean, and becuase we were a "my favourites club" guest (lucky upgrade on arrival!) There were also lovely toiletries and a generous mini bar. In terms of location the view was spectacular and there was a small town with amenities such as shop, bar and ATM up the road, with a larger town with more food options 30 minutes walk (along the road) away. We were slightly disappointed that there werent any nice coastal walks from the hotel and the hotel does feel a bit isolated - but this isn't a complaint just something to note if you also like a hotel with lots within walking distance. We saw most complaints on reviews were about food and agree that the buffet was a bit repetitive with very similar fare each day (possibly end of season winding down) ... however all of the food whilst simple was tasty and fresh. The chef at breakfast was accommodating of dietary requirements and would cook me a fresh omelette without ham for example. The a la carte was a touch disappointing as some elements such as desserts were not available (again possibly only an end of season issue which we accept in last week of October). Vegetarian options were always available. What we cannot complain about however was the staff. Every staff member we encountered from manager and receptionist, to bar staff and cleaners were friendly and helpful. The receptionists in particular arranged taxis and hire cars for us, helped us book excursions, and gave us advice on places to visit on the island. Every member of staff had a smile and were genuinely a lovely part of our stay. Overall very positive experience and we would probably stay again if returning to the island.

Beautiful location with amazing views, fun evening entertainment, great selection of drinks and professional and friendly staff

First impressions were good but it quickly went down hill from there. Check in was smooth and efficient but there was no welcome drinks and no offer to help take our bags to the room. The room was really small compared to every other hotel that we have stayed at but it was clean and functional. Although we had booked a double room it was just two single beds pushed together with single bedding. The plug in the sink didn't work and there was no hot water. Maintenance came out and fixed the plug but we were told that we needed to run the hot tap for about twenty minutes for the water to get hot. There are signs saying water is precious don't waste it. We are pleased in some respects that we came near the end of the season because nothing is big enough for a full hotel in the height of summer. The pool is tiny, the dining room is too small and the bar/entertainment area isn't big enough for a half full hotel. The downside to visiting late in the season is that everything was running out. The food choices were getting less and less every day at all meal times and in every restaurant. Along with plenty of other guests we ended up eating out at night. The drinks were good and all the bar staff, especially at the pool bar, were excellent. How they managed to work all day with hundreds of wasps around them was really impressive. This could be a really good hotel but everything is too small, not enough of the staff care about the guests and the food was just being run down for the end of season closing.
