California Beach

Stayed here for the week, checked in 15-06. The staff were friendly and the cleaners done an amazing job. However, I paid extra for a private pool which I had, when I got to the room, the pool looked as though it had not been cleaned in a month, it’s always disgusting, and while there it was only cleaned 2 times. The WiFi was horrific, either you had a connection or none at all, usually being the latter, there was no in between. I’m coming to laganas again next year but will not be staying here again.

Surprisingly Great Stay at California Beach Hotel! I stayed at the California Beach Hotel during the last week of July and was honestly shocked—in a good way! Like many others, I had read some mixed reviews beforehand and arrived feeling a bit hesitant, but my experience far exceeded expectations. Check-in was a breeze, quicker than hailing a cab at the airport. Within minutes, I was in my room, which was simple but had everything I needed: a comfortable bed, clean washroom, air conditioning, and a spacious balcony with stunning views of both the mountains and ocean. While some reviews mentioned noise, I didn’t hear a thing at night, even with the balcony door open. Yes, there were people chatting on their balconies at sunset, but it was more of a lively, social vibe than anything disruptive. The location is unbeatable—1 minute to the beach, 5 minutes to the main strip. You truly get the best of both worlds: close to the action, but still relaxing. Everything worked smoothly during my stay: hot showers, strong Wi-Fi by the pool and in the lobby, daily room cleaning, and friendly staff available 24/7. This is actually the first review I’ve ever written, even though I use this site often to research places. I felt compelled to write because my experience was genuinely great.

We had a truly great time at California Beach Hotel! The location is absolutely ideal — just a short walk from the beach and very close to shops, restaurants, and cafes. It’s right in the heart of Laganas, yet the hotel remains peaceful and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always with a smile and ready to assist with anything we needed. They made us feel welcome from the very first moment. Our room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Housekeeping was daily and well done. We especially enjoyed the pool area and the garden, which created a calm and cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was satisfying and a great way to start the day.

Ended up staying at this hotel by mistake, after Tui cancelled our flight home & put us there. We were left shocked, the rooms were awful along with the very small bathroom, the beds were the most uncomfortable I've ever lay on so no real sleep was had at all. There is no lift in the hotel, so any persons with reduced mobility will not be able to stay on any other floor than the one you enter the building on, although curiously there is a ramp outside? This hotel is apparently 4* but who decided that was the case clearly never had the displeasure of staying in it.
