Cavo D'Oro Hotel

Save your money and avoid this hotel at all cost! We went for 7 days definitely not a 4* hotel i wouldn't even rate 3 star. The food is awful- we had an issue with ants in our toilet- we asked for housing keeping to clean it up and they didn't have anyone deal with it the receptionist had to ask another hotel work for some ant spray- we asked to move rooms they couldn't do that! The hotel is a sham! Its just awful..

**Very disappointing – poor value for money and not what we expected** Unfortunately, we really didn’t enjoy our stay and it was nothing like what we had expected or hoped for from our holiday in Greece. One of the biggest disappointments was the food at the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very poor, and there was very little that we actually enjoyed eating throughout our stay. When you’re staying somewhere and having most of your meals at the hotel, you expect the food to be a decent standard, but sadly that just wasn’t our experience at all. The cleanliness of the rooms was also a concern, especially because of the ants. One day we went into the toilet and found a large number of ants all crowded around the toilet seat. It was absolutely horrible and definitely not something you expect to find in your hotel room while you’re on holiday. After seeing that, it obviously made us question the overall cleanliness of the room. There was also a massive problem with wasps around the pool area. Every time you got a drink, especially anything sweet, and brought it over to the pool, it would literally end up covered in wasps. It made it really difficult to sit and enjoy a drink or properly relax because you were constantly having to watch out for them. This happened regularly throughout our stay and became really frustrating. The location itself was okay. There are a few bars nearby that you can go to in the evening if you want to get out of the hotel for a drink, which was nice to have. The noise level was also okay and we didn’t find that to be a major issue during our stay. In terms of value for money, we really don’t feel this holiday was worth what we paid. We expected a much better standard, particularly when it came to the food, cleanliness and overall hotel experience. When you spend your money on a holiday, you want to be able to relax, enjoy your meals and make the most of your time away. Unfortunately, we just didn’t feel we got that here. Overall, the holiday was a real disappointment and we definitely wouldn’t choose to return to this hotel. We had really been looking forward to our holiday in Greece, but unfortunately the hotel let the whole experience down for us. The nicest part of the holiday was genuinely the beautiful weather — sadly, we can’t say the same about the hotel.

Pictures on tui are nothing like what you get Rooms were clean but not what we’d picked online at all. Luckily kalamaki isn’t short of lovely resturants and great bars so wasn’t an issue for us just used as a base but still disappointed

We have stayed in Cavo Doro multiple times before, when we last visited both cavo d’oro and cavo suites were still joined. You ate in the suites restaurant and the breakfast and lunch were usually decent. On this stay we found out that the two hotels were now completely separate because of this we were limited to the Cavo doro restaurant , the food was absolutely awful, typically my husband isn’t fussy he will eat pretty much anything; even he couldn’t find something that wasn’t swimming in oil or remotely edible. When sitting at the pool the sunbeds were clearly old and would collapse. The edge of the pool was slippery with no signage, multiple people fell down the steps during our stay. As well as this there was awful drainage smell of sulphur which came and went throughout the day. Within our room the bathroom constantly smelt of stale urine even after the cleaners had been. This is all really disappointing considering we have been to this hotel 2 times previously (before the separation from Cavo suites) without any issues. We paid extra for the all inclusive to make use of the breakfast and lunch food (typically we eat out in the evenings) and this money was a complete waste as all we could tolerate was some basic toast each morning. This is NOT a 4 star hotel.

The rooms were to small no way 4 star was moved once to a refurbished room still so small by then I'd had enough staff not bothered will not be going back
