Stayed at the Filoxenia Hotel from the 12th July till the 21st July this being are fourth visit to this hotel ,as you can guess we loved the hotel and staff you can't fault they go out or there way to help ,But unable to this time as out of there control .It's an all inclusive hotel but unfortunately this time we were all unable to eat in the restaurant as air conditioning was off for 8 of are 9 days and it was very hot that hot I went light headed a couple of times and couldn't wait to get in the covered part by the bar as there was two big fans it was making me quite ill the temperature being between 31° and 38° and as you can imagine having to eat out a lot and paying for all inclusive cost us a fortune which is not what you need on a holiday .I must admit although the rooms had been upgraded i was not keen on the bedrooms the corners of the bed my partner cut his leg twice and I did it once we did complain to reception and they tried to put plastic over the sharp edges but we still got scratched. It drew blood Your sinks are in your bedroom totally separate from your shower and toilet which I was not keen on aesthetically pleasing as if one of you needed the sink you are in the way of the wardrobe which is behind you , but not very practical in are case and no full length which I think is a necessity.Sad, as we were remember by a lot of the staff we will not be going back again now it spoiled the whole experience of are holiday on to venues new next year

Our 4th and definitely final trip to the Filoxenia hotel. Returned with family again staying in two renovated deluxe rooms on the side with the reception. Rooms were “nice to look at” but so many impractical things. The sinks in the bedroom meant if I wanted to get up early and leave my husband having a lie in I couldn’t brush my teeth as doing so would of meant switching on the light in the bedroom where the sinks are located. No full length mirror in a huge room is poor planning. Wardrobes although two huge ones had no full length hanging space for trousers or dresses meaning my clothes dragged along the bottom of it. Bedside tables which tipped when you pulled the draw more than a few cm open. Kettle with no water filter and a coffee/tea machine with supplies but no milk provided was unfortunate. Shower door leaked all over the bathroom floor leaving no space to get dried other than sitting on the toilet or in the main bedroom. No hanging rail outside for towels etc meant clothes over the balcony which I think cheapens the look of the hotel. The fridge was a nice addition although ours in room 223 was on its side with the cupboard broken under it which meant the door wouldn’t stay open on it. The food……. Oh goodness I don’t know where to start…. “Carrot crush” and “sprouts” for LUNCH!? I mainly ate salad. And that’s the days I could eat! Unfortunately the air conditioner in the restaurant was broken the entire 9 days of our stay, the temperatures were in the 30’s making it impossible to eat most meals, at one point I thought I was going to pass out it was that hot and had to beg the waiter to allow me to take my meal outside to eat at the bar. No attempt made to bring in additional air conditioners to help, just one little one at the door which the staff all gathered around to stop them fainting I’d imagine! The hotel has unfortunately gone downhill not improved. The pool areas were never hosed down, I saw the cleaners of a morning MOPPING yes MOPPING the concrete floor, spilt drink stains everywhere. The pools at most times was also very hectic with ball games allowed, often with very heavy balls being launched across the pool hitting people sunbathing, knocking drinks over and I saw people getting hit in the head with them a few times. One woman drinking iced coffee and cocktails in the pool despite being asked not to but was never removed. I also witnessed Vaping in the pool and smoking also. I think we’ve been lucky previous years with the clientele that’s attended as never had this issue before? I can’t blame the hotel for the poor manners of the customers but I can blame management for not fixing it when seeing these things happen. The staff are the only saving grace for this hotel, bar staff are all lovely and friendly despite the heat and workload. Helpful receptionists and cleaners trying their best. I’m not sure if the hotel has changed hands but something has gone very wrong since we last came. Sadly we won’t be back.

Lovely hotel, some brilliant staff! Food ok, small choices but generally enough to suit most people. Great pool and never had an issue getting a sun bed 👍🏽👍🏽 we stayed in room 308, which for us was great apart from as before mentioned by other travellers the shower leaks on the floor pretty bad. Only other gripe is the corners of the beds are very sharp and as a family of 4 we all caught it on our legs a few times 🙄 what I will say is the balcony area needs like a retractable washing line as they’re isn’t (apart from the balcony rails ) anywhere to hang wet clothes! On a whole a lovely hotel. Tip for,10 days as we did, €100 for hotel tax and €50 for safe so bring plenty of cash.. thanks all at the filo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 ps, heard the cockerels most mornings but not an issue nor was the main rd next to the hotel.
