Porto Zorro Beach Hotel

Me and my friend stayed at the hotel in the first week of June 2025, when the hotel just opened after being closed. We were one of the first guest which arrived on the day the hotel opened, so there were some minor shortcomings which were compensated by a very helpful hotel manager Georgios and other staff. Anything raised was sorted out to the best of their ability. The hotel is run in a family hotel manner and hotel staff was very friendly, which made our stay very enjoyable. Location of the hotel was great for us. It has beautiful private beach - I would say one of the most beautiful beaches in Zakinthos. We have done the trip around the island and saw all the beaches. Sea is shallow for quite a few metres so good for not strong swimmers. The sea is extremely clean. Although beach is sandy, there are few stones and I would recommend swim shoes for comfort when going for a swim. I did not see pool, but we did not miss it as the beach and sea was just perfect. I do not think I would use the pool anyway. Sea was nicely warm although season has just started. Location of the hotel is a bit away from busy touristy places, so at night one can fall asleep and wake up with sound of waves and admire beautiful sunsets (and sun raises if you are an early bird) on the beach. Took lots of great photos. At night you can see stars - amazing! Food was very good with lots of fresh salad options. There was always selection of meats and vegetable sides, so vegetarians would be happy as well. We explored nearby Vasilikos, which is 10-15 minutes walk following local road. There are few shops with souvenirs which also sell basic food and items one may need on holidays. There is also lovely farm shop selling cosmetics and other farm produce. Lovely herbal oils. I would recommend to visit Blue Yard restaurant in Vasilikos. Me and my friend visited the restaurant 3 times that week. If you do, you need to try Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts - absolutely one of the best treats I have ever had. Lovely setting to enjoy some lovely wine and something to eat. The menu is not large but everything is fresh and local if possible. Pizza is great. Me and my friend have alternated day trips and days on the hotel beach and had a great relaxing holiday. Although the hotel is not a luxury hotel, we would definitely go back as the location and staff made our stay very enjoyable allowing us to recharge our batteries.

Just stay away. They don't fix any amenities, everything in the bathroom is broken, and you just might fall trough the floor in the bar. The restaurant menu has only a few prices so the staff can make up their own pricing when the bill comes, that is if you actually get what you ordered. For some reason, for them it's okay to bring a completely different dish and charge you more than what you ordered. Came with a good mood and low expectations, but this didn't even meet that.

I'm at the hotel now. Calculation on August 13, 2024 My two children and I settled in a room in the attic at the end of the corridor: * no normal lighting * broken hairdryer *dirty paper on the ceiling * the bathroom is in terrible condition *the door to the bathroom does not close *low ceilings and impossible to walk normally. Contacted the reception and guide ITAKA PL. There is only one answer - all rooms in the hotel are like this! But that's not the case because we've seen other numbers. And a room like ours is one for the entire hotel. The staff behaves funny. The room is not suitable for normal rest. Looks like a staff room or pantry. All requests for relocation are ignored! Although people leave and there is such an opportunity.
