Strofades Beach

Hotel has a nice sandy beach, good location. Few minutes walk there are restaurants and souvenir shops. There are animations for kids every day however only in polish. The beach bar guy is always hurrying you to make your choice.Drinks are from cheapest type however not bad. There is no daily cleaning only on request - with toilet paper in the bin and sand everywhere. Food is very basic and poor quality, food is not even kept warm. Every day the same food. At the pool not enough bads even for the quarter of the hotel quests.

We had a great time on the island of Zakynthos, Tsilivi is a neat little town and the hotel is close to the city center and the beach is great. BUT! The hotel is not four-star, in Hungary it could receive a maximum of 3 stars. We got a room on the top floor, where there was no elevator, the beds were equipped with old spring mattresses, the bathroom was in a catastrophic condition, broken tiles, there was a part where it was missing and it was moldy and scaled. The plaster was peeling off the walls. We complained and the staff responded immediately, we got another room. The bathroom was nicer there, but the limescale was everywhere. But the bed was much more comfortable. The food was quite tasty, although the breakfast was the same every day. Despite all this, we didn't feel bad, the new room was quite comfortable, but we wouldn't come back. A hotel with good facilities, with a little attention and renovation it could be a good choice for anyone.

Like everywhere, there are pluses and minuses. Pros: great location of the hotel, about 8 km from the airport and 50 meters from the sea, a swimming pool in front of the hotel with free sunbeds for guests (although, as usual, there are smart people who try to reserve them from 6 am, throwing a towel, and then come at 14:00 per hour) recently, however, the staff took care of this practice and collects these towels in the morning). In general, the hotel is very child-friendly - the animators do a great job, lots of animations every day (but only Czech and Polish, perhaps because of the clientele, i.e. Poles and Czechs/Slovaks) you don't need to know a language other than Polish or Czech - and you can feel like on the Polish coast, of course, only in this context is an association, because the water is crystal clear and the air temperature is guaranteed above 30 degrees, and the water temperature is also close to the air temperature, which cannot be experienced on the Baltic Sea. These are pluses, but as I mentioned, there are also minuses: the biggest: there is practically no air conditioning in the restaurant, there are supposedly inverters and fans, but they probably only have a psychological effect, all the windows are always open, and after eating (you have to admit that the food is tasty and quite varied) but the man is all sweaty. I don't know if it's a standard in Zakynthos but, for example, in Crete it's unthinkable in a 2-star hotel, and this one supposedly aspires to 4. When it comes to food, it's a little glitch at the beginning of your stay, because the windows are always open , there were such shiny blue flies on the gyros tray, which would have effectively discouraged even the best food. As for the rooms, it's again the max standard. 2 stars and certainly not 3 stars, let alone 4. There is air conditioning in the rooms free of charge and works quite effectively, unfortunately it is getting old and is quite loud enough to wake you up at night. The poor rating of the room is mainly due to the condition of the bathroom. As for the sunbeds, as I wrote above, some kind of curiosity; by the pool free of charge but already at the beach payable. Prices acc. me, in the summer season, inadequate to the standard offered.

We booked this hotel according to our friends recommendation. But he paid half price last year, as he used after season Last minutes offers. We came during TOP season and paid the same as for the 5*hotel in Turkey. But finally we have spent really great holiday. The hotel hardware is nothing special, but it is clean! I read a lot of reviews before our tour and I was very much affraid of the hotel. The room is very easy, but bedroom is after renovation, aircondition works, bed Very comfortable so as the pillow. The bathroom needs to be renovated for sure it was not in a good condition. But accommodation was clean and for sleep overnight good enough. The hotel staff makes the holiday, they are so nice and helpfull. Thanks to them all! At the beach we rented Cabana (30eur a day)and sunbeds set (15eur a day) for the whole week and that Made the holiday PERFECT!! The Mango bar with its great service, coctails, drinks and sendwitches etc. made our holiday unforgettable. The drinks at the hotel from allinclusive service aren't good. So if you are opened mind and if you would like to spend great holiday at the sea and beach, do not hesitate to pay for Mango Beach service White using accomodation service at Strofades hotel. The meals at the hotel are very good, every day nice choice and the food was tasty. Small kitchen in the small hotel, but delicious and very good. The only thing, that I didn't like were plastic cups for drinks (also for wine), this was really disappointing. The Sandy beach and such a clean watter I have seen in Carbic Island only!

At first glance, the hotel looks like a hostel. Reception is plain and lobby (or kind of a lobby) is simple and small. The same holds true for restaurant. On the other hand, everything works as it shouldand if you don't long for posh interiors and opulent banquets, the chances are you will be satisfied. Pool is nice and well maintained. Pool bar works nicely, but bartender is moody to say the least. For this I have to blame hotel manager. The staff is simply overworked. The room was ok, but nothing to write home about. The very best thing about this hotel is the beach which is like 100 meters from the pool and is family friendly.
