Strofades Beach

I spent a week at Strofades Hotel in July 2026, and unfortunately, I would not recommend it. Honestly, it is difficult for me to rate this hotel even 2 stars, especially considering how much I paid. It was actually more expensive than a 3-star hotel I stayed at in Gran Canaria in June, which I rated 5/5. The positives: great location – close to the beach and about a 15-minute walk to the town. The bartender was funny and friendly, the desserts were surprisingly good, and a big plus is that after checking out at 10 AM, you can still use the pool, bar and food until your transfer. The negatives are much more significant. 🍽️ Food: Very poor quality and very limited choice. If you don't eat meat, there is almost nothing to choose from. I basically survived on potatoes and salads. Fish was rare and usually not very good. The contrast with my cheaper 3-star hotel in Gran Canaria was huge – there were different kinds of fish, salmon and tuna almost every day. 🐈 Cats: There are around 8 cats living around the hotel, plus many more in the town. They looked very hungry and the hotel does not seem to take care of them. I brought cat food from Poland and fed them every day. If you're staying here, please bring some food for the cats. They really need it. ❤️ 🏖️ Sunbeds: €25 per day for sunbeds that are honestly in pretty poor condition. Luckily, the beach itself is free. I used a cheap camping mattress instead, and it worked perfectly as a beach lounger. 🚿 Hotel condition: This was probably the most frustrating part. There was no hot water in the evenings during my entire stay. Imagine coming back from the beach at 6 PM wanting to shower and wash your hair before dinner, only to get freezing cold water. 😭 The hairdryer also worked only once and then needed time before it could be used again. 🍴 Restaurant: More like a canteen than a restaurant. Cleanliness could definitely be improved. I also witnessed the manager shouting at staff in front of guests. On another occasion, she asked guests to leave their table because she needed it for other people – they hadn't even finished their dessert yet. Very uncomfortable to watch. Overall: the location is good, but for me, that is not enough. The food, lack of hot water, poor condition of the hotel and overpriced sunbeds made this stay a big disappointment. I would not come back. If you've already booked this hotel, at least bring some food for the cats. 🐈

Hotel has a nice sandy beach, good location. Few minutes walk there are restaurants and souvenir shops. There are animations for kids every day however only in polish. The beach bar guy is always hurrying you to make your choice.Drinks are from cheapest type however not bad. There is no daily cleaning only on request - with toilet paper in the bin and sand everywhere. Food is very basic and poor quality, food is not even kept warm. Every day the same food. At the pool not enough bads even for the quarter of the hotel quests.

We had a great time on the island of Zakynthos, Tsilivi is a neat little town and the hotel is close to the city center and the beach is great. BUT! The hotel is not four-star, in Hungary it could receive a maximum of 3 stars. We got a room on the top floor, where there was no elevator, the beds were equipped with old spring mattresses, the bathroom was in a catastrophic condition, broken tiles, there was a part where it was missing and it was moldy and scaled. The plaster was peeling off the walls. We complained and the staff responded immediately, we got another room. The bathroom was nicer there, but the limescale was everywhere. But the bed was much more comfortable. The food was quite tasty, although the breakfast was the same every day. Despite all this, we didn't feel bad, the new room was quite comfortable, but we wouldn't come back. A hotel with good facilities, with a little attention and renovation it could be a good choice for anyone.
