Zante Sun

We have just spent a week at Zante Sun Resort and honestly, we had a brilliant stay. There are so many positives to mention, and overall we really cannot fault the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. You can visibly see how hard the staff work, even from very early in the morning and throughout long shifts, to keep everything clean, tidy and well maintained. Our room was modern, very clean and had air conditioning, and we were lucky enough to have a lovely sea view. The cleaners came in every day to clean the room, with towels changed every other day and bedding changed twice during our week. Although this was perfectly adequate for us, it is worth mentioning for anyone who prefers more frequent towel or bedding changes. Check-in was quick and easy when we arrived, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. A particular mention has to go to the pool bar staff, Dimitris and Marinos, who were fantastic. The staff at the main restaurant and bar were also incredibly attentive and never failed to make sure you had a drink when you needed one. You could tell that everyone genuinely worked hard to make guests feel looked after. The food was one of our favourite parts of the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent, with different themed evenings at dinner and plenty of choice. There were always some simpler options available too, which was great for fussy eaters. We didn’t even use the lunch buffet every day because the pool bar offers snacks throughout the day, including fresh fruit pots, popcorn and other options, which was perfect for something quick while relaxing by the pool. There are three pools, all of which were very clean and surrounded by more than enough sunbeds. One of the best things about the hotel for us was the sunbed policy. Guests aren’t allowed to reserve sunbeds before 10am, which makes the mornings much more relaxed. Despite having lie-ins and going for breakfast quite late, we never once struggled to find a sunbed. This made such a nice difference compared with hotels where you feel like you have to wake up ridiculously early just to get a spot. There are two other bars as well as the main bar — one by the pool which is open throughout the day until late, and an à la carte bar. The only downside we found was that the à la carte bar was a little expensive compared with drinks at local bars, particularly if you’re going out regularly. This didn’t affect our overall experience, but it’s something worth being aware of. The location is another big positive. The hotel is far enough away from the main Laganas strip that you don’t feel surrounded by the huge nightlife scene, but close enough that you can easily walk to it when you want to. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the strip, with plenty of local shops and bars along the way. From there, you can catch a bus into Zakynthos Town. There isn’t a huge amount to do in the town itself, but there are some lovely little streets to wander around, with shops and restaurants. The hotel staff are also more than happy to help arrange a taxi if you’d rather not use the bus. The harbour is only around a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and this is definitely worth visiting. The famous local “turtle man” feeds a wild turtle there at around 6pm, so it was lovely to be able to walk down and see this. Cameo Island is also only around 5 minutes away, and we really enjoyed visiting during both the day and evening. Overall, we would 100% recommend Zante Sun Resort. We think it’s particularly well suited to couples who enjoy a hotel with a bit more atmosphere and things going on, as well as families with children. It has a lovely balance of being busy and lively without feeling completely overwhelming, while still being in a quieter location away from the main nightlife strip. The combination of the cleanliness, fantastic food, friendly staff, great pools, excellent location and relaxed sunbed policy made this a really enjoyable week for us. We would definitely consider staying here again and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Zante.

Just stayed in this hotel in Zante. Family of 3. Absolutely wonderful, the place is spotless and the food options were great (all inclusive) There are 3 pools with plenty of room. Lilos, balls etc are allowed in the pools which was great.Totally relaxed. The only thing for me was it was very quiet at night which for us kind of worked but it would have been better to have a little night entertaient, the bar area was quiet as is the small town but again this could be ideal for a lot of people. However if you want a kids club or a disco at night then this may not be the place. We are thinking of rebooking next year

Fantastic hotel – we wouldn’t stay anywhere else! We absolutely love Zante Sun Agios Sostis and have been returning since 2019. We honestly cannot fault this hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with the whole building being kept spotless throughout the day, every day. The staff work incredibly hard to make sure everything is just right for you, and they are all so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food has been wonderful again, with plenty to enjoy, and the whole hotel has such a lovely, calm and relaxing atmosphere. There is no entertainment, but for us, that is absolutely fine – we actually enjoy the peaceful feel of the hotel. The hotel does welcome children, although it is worth being aware that there is no kids’ club, so parents will need to keep their children entertained themselves. The staff genuinely could not do any more to make your stay as lovely and pleasant as possible. Their hard work and friendliness really make this hotel special. We will definitely keep coming back and would highly recommend Zante Sun Agios Sostis to anyone looking for a clean, friendly and relaxing holiday. We love it here!

The beds were so comfortable we slept perfectly every night, and our room along with the whole resort was immaculately clean and beautifully modern throughout. We always got a sun bed whenever we wanted, all the staff were really friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent with plenty of tasty options. The pool was so inviting and never felt crowded at all – we really got the sense this resort attracts such lovely, polite guests. It’s in a great location really close to all the tourist trips and excursions, and we loved that it was nice and relaxed – not full of people just drinking all day. I honestly can’t understand why some people complain about the location – do a little research or rent a car it’s really not that difficult! Please don’t let any negative reviews put you off – tourist tax is standard and expected in most foreign countries, so we really can’t understand complaints about this either. We couldn’t fault a single thing and would absolutely recommend, the Ashcroft family hope to come back soon!" ---

The hotel’s location is excellent: just 15 minutes from the airport and very close to Cameo Island and the boats that depart for excursions. Everything is within walking distance. The staff at reception and in the restaurant are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the bartenders at the swimming pools are not. They come across as rather unfriendly and grumpy. The drinks and cocktails are also of very poor quality. They are served in plastic cups that feel as if someone has already bitten the edges. The swimming pools themselves are beautiful and clean, and the large number of sun loungers is definitely a plus. There was always a free spot available. However, one major downside was the fact that ashtrays were placed on almost every small table next to the loungers. This seemed to encourage guests to smoke, and as a non-smoker, we found this very annoying. Unfortunately, the food and the dining area were very disappointing. The atmosphere was not cosy at all, and the food was not good. Breakfast was probably the worst we have ever experienced in a hotel. There is even a stove available to make pancakes, but during our seven-day stay, the children never saw a single pancake. We asked the bolt manager, who was constantly walking around the hotel making quite a show of himself, why this was the case. His answer was: “Every morning, we have something different.” In reality, it was the same poor breakfast every single morning. You can see in the photos what they call a donut and a croissant. The soft drinks served in the afternoon were always lukewarm and completely flat. Lunch and dinner were acceptable, but nothing special. Dessert was often just an apple or some watermelon. On the positive side, the housekeeping team deserves a big compliment. The entire hotel is kept very clean and looks beautiful. Every morning, a large team was busy cleaning, and the hygiene was absolutely excellent. 10/10 for cleanliness! The rooms where also big enough and very clean. But a very bad bed and pillows. Apart from the swimming pools, there is very little to do at the hotel, especially if you are travelling with children. There is hardly any entertainment or activities for them. Zakynthos is a beautiful island, but unfortunately, we will not be experiencing it from Zante Sun Resort again.
