BLUESEA Golden Beach

So I’ll start at the beginning, we arrived very late due to delays on the plane and then 2.5 hours on the coach. I was, as you can imagine, starting to get irritated. The bus shouldn’t have took so long but that’s not the hotels fault, that’s easy jets. When we arrived it was midnight and my fiancée and I were hungry and fed up, but the hotel very kindly put food out for us for arrival and a drink. It actually meant a lot to us and they seemed to care which we liked. This was a great start. After that it was lovely weather and it was a very peaceful hotel. Very quiet and just relaxing. However, this hotel is for people who want to do sweet nothing. I booked it for that purpose and it was successful. Entertainment by Martem, he was so lovely and such a great guy and his aqua gym was hilarious. The evening entertainment, not by Martem, was very poor. There is a lot of space for a lot of things to do in only bar and they don’t utilise it properly. It’s a shame really. Would have been good for a proper stage. The drinks are very limited, only one beer and one choice of wine (red, rose, white) so not much choice. The cocktails were hit and miss and sometimes amazing and sometimes sugar over load. The food was really really good, I really enjoyed the wide selection and the fresh fruit/veg and other stuff like fresh chicken wraps. It was impressive. Some people complained there it was the same every night and indeed it will be the same to appease the masses. I didn’t get bored of the food at all. The rooms were clean and it was cleaned everyday no issues. We had a lovely balcony over looking the sea. Some staff were rude, such as Fernando who was slamming drinks everywhere and was miserable. Other guests thought the same. The rest were amazing. I also don’t understand the pool towel rule - fine you pay 10€ deposit I get that but if I wanted a clean towel it was an extra 1€ -I could have just asked for the deposit back and asked the next day for new towels. Bizarre rule. Yet, the bedroom towels for shower were changed everyday…I don’t get why they charge me for pool towels to be cleaned and not shower. Staff said it was for laundry. Whatever. There is a 1€ deposit for cups for drinks. I liked this rule. Saves plastic and waste and felt it was my bit for the environment. I should have brought my pint cup though from home as it was only half pint plastic cups that they reused. What would have been good is a proper bar area, the main bar was only open 6-11pm (says 11:30 but all inclusive cuts off at 11). The pool bar was open 10:30-6pm so yes fair enough but if there was a proper bar open, in their big vast space of the hotel, all day, then this may have been nice. Also no air con anywhere in the hotel. I felt so sorry for the staff working there. The room had good air con though. In general the state of the hotel I heard some people complain about. I hadn’t any issues with it to be honest. What looked like had happened was it was done up 3 years ago but on a big budget. In general this hotel shouldn’t really be 4* it should be a high 3*. It seems the hotel have “ticked” the boxes for 4* but they do it in such a cheap way. Martem made the trip 10x better and the food was great, but beer lacked. The beach was beautiful too. And some good bars. I was touched with the nice snack on arrival though. I wouldn’t go back as I’d try out different places as the area was lovely and had nice air bnbs. But I do recommend this area and hotel for people if they want peace and quiet for 7 days and do nothing at all. It’s a small hotel and we both enjoyed it. Thanks Martem for the memories and UNO.

Hotel very clean and tidy, food was good. Friendly staff. Pool was lovely. Entertainment bit Hit & Miss and not on for long enough. Very good holiday if you just want to relax by the pool as very little to do nearby Only downfall was bed mattress was very hard and the pillows where very thin.
