Royal Palm Resort & Spa

Having stayed at this hotel five times previously, it’s disappointing to see standards deteriorate with every visit. What was once a hotel we really enjoyed seems to have completely misplaced its priorities. We arrived late and noticed the usual welcome glass of fizz was no longer offered. A small detail, but one of the touches that previously made the hotel feel special. Things got worse when we reached our room. The sink plug was stuck, meaning the water wouldn’t drain. Reception told us nothing could be done and unbelievably handed us a knife from the bar to try fixing it ourselves! We requested a room change, as we hadn’t even unpacked, but were told this wasn’t an option. The room itself was tired, with cracked tiles, a damaged sink and an unpleasant drainage smell. We’d also paid extra for a sea-view upgrade, only to find a huge tree obstructing much of the view. Particularly disappointing when virtually every room already has a sea view. The reception area has been refurbished, although the cheap-looking fabrics draped across the walls look tacky and completely out of keeping with the hotel’s character. Surely that money would have been better spent maintaining the rooms? Food was average, essentially buffet-style dining, with particularly disappointing desserts that lacked flavour. The Italian restaurant menu has also changed, removing favourites such as the tiramisu. Drinks were extremely expensive, so we avoided spending much time in the bars. More concerning was the restaurant cleanliness. On several occasions, we found tiny insects in the bread baskets, which would then crawl across the table. Absolutely disgusting and something that really needs addressing. The indoor pool was also rather cold, and the massage jets weren’t working. Yet another example of poor maintenance. The hotel continues to advertise itself as adults-only, although it now appears to allow 16 and 17-year-olds, which isn’t necessarily what guests expect when booking an adults-only holiday. The dress code was another frustration. Men are supposedly required to wear trousers in certain restaurants, yet this wasn’t being enforced. Either have a rule and apply it consistently or remove it altogether. It’s unfair on those who make the effort to follow it. Even the private road leading to the hotel is in need of attention. Overall, management seems to have completely misplaced its priorities. Money is being spent on questionable cosmetic changes whilst basic maintenance, cleanliness, food quality and customer service are being neglected. Having visited six times, it’s genuinely disappointing to watch a hotel we once loved decline. The prices certainly haven’t reflected the falling standards, and unless things improve, I struggle to see us returning for We won’t be returning

We stayed at the Royal Palm Resort @ Spa for two weeks in March, and from the moment we booked we knew the location was outside the urban area but that was exactly what we were looking for. The question was whether the resort would live up to our expectations and it certainly did in so far that we have already booked another two weeks in November!! Our room was large, spacious and very comfortable, with a lovely comfortable bed. Throughout our two week stay the linen and towels were changed regularly, and the room was cleaned to a high standard. We stayed on a half-board basis, which isn’t usually our preferred choice, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We were genuinely impressed by the range and quality of the food throughout our stay. My wife has a gluten intolerance and her dietary needs were extremely well catered for. The chefs and waiting staff went out of their way to make sure she was looked after which gave us great confidence and made a big difference to our holiday. The waiting staff throughout the resort were polite, friendly and incredibly hardworking. They really did go above and beyond in their roles. The food selection was extensive, and one thing that particularly impressed us was how well everything was maintained. The dishes were continually replenished, and there was always someone making sure the food looked fresh, appealing and well presented. The dining experience was far better than we had expected. The hotel itself is large and spacious, but despite its size it was clean, peaceful and relaxing. We never had any problem finding sun loungers, and liked the fact that they were well spaced out rather than being packed together. The poolside bars were another great feature and provided a lovely relaxed atmosphere. As others have mentioned, the complementary glass of Prosecco on arrival is a lovely touch, as is having a porter take our luggage to our room was much appreciated after our journey. The hotel’s position above the beach is fantastic and the view of the sea from our room was simply amazing. We have been visiting Fuerteventura for almost 40 years, and this was one of the best holidays we’ve had on the island. In fact we only wish we had booked the Royal Palm Resort & Spa many years before!!

A beautiful place with an incredible view of the sea. The atmosphere of the hotel is special due to the hotel’s unique cascading structure. My room was very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, and as a bonus, I had access to a terrace with a magnificent view of the ocean. The hotel is in a very quiet location, which I appreciated, as I work in the hospitality industry and this place guarantees a very peaceful environment. I would like to thank all the staff—from the reception and kitchen teams to the poolside baristas and the housekeeping staff. It was a wonderful vacation, and I would love to come back here again someday

Lovely stay here. Breakfast buffet was amazing and the sleep at night listening the sea waves is just so comforting. Good amount of activities happening around the bar too so don't really need to travel out. There are also shops on the ground floor. Oh and I had never fried octopus before but the one served in the restaurant was so nicely made.

Arrived at 10pm after flight delayed and sitting on plane for a hour before we took off then got transfer another hour sitting on coach . Eventually got to hotel lovely room although aircon poor have better aircon at home ! Offered tuna salad and one bottle of water small between us - don’t like fish so awful start to what was a short trip away in the sun No atmosphere at this hotel no sounds of laughter no smiles from staff or guests Food good and we did enjoy our holiday pools lovely Didn’t appreciate the charge for pool towels and water in our room I work in a hotel myself and we have never charged our guest for water in room everyday Never ever been charged to change a pool towels Would I come back no the tui palace Jandia and tui calypso much more friendly and accommodating
