Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas

This was our sixth or seventh visit to The Riu Palace Maspalomas and as usual it disappoint. Wonderful location, right on the dunes, impressively clean, great food. We can’t wait to return

We had a lovely stay for a week; staff mostly very attentive, housekeeping were fantastic, slight issue with room on arrival, which was changed at our request, no hassle, sorted very quickly and reception team couldn’t do more for us. Food was lovely, such a large selection, something for everyone, in the restaurant, one of the waiters had their own ‘favourite’ guests and fell over himself to do everything possible, and left others waiting, disappointed when we asked for drinks and felt it was an inconvenience when we politely asked, We only used the small pool which was lovely and relaxing, always beds available anytime of the day, loved the shaded areas. short walk to the dunes was lovely, evening entertainment was good, bar service very quick and efficient. Overall a very relaxing holiday, which is what we were looking for.

First time visiting this hotel. As an industry professional who regularly stays at top-tier luxury hotels (such as Four Seasons or the Rixos chain), I must admit, after meticulously examining every detail, that this hotel has very few negative points. ​Front Desk & Reception Special thanks to Antoine, who speaks French, and Sami, who speaks Arabic. Both showed great professionalism in welcoming guests and instantly making you feel at ease. ​Room Room 1062: Very modern, highly comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The housekeeper attends to every detail for maximum comfort with a dedication rarely seen elsewhere. Congratulations to her! ​Dining & Breakfast ​Dinner: A level of culinary quality rarely encountered. You can tell there are real chefs in the kitchen. Accustomed to luxury Dubai hotels like Atlantis The Palm, I found the cuisine here to be carefully prepared and delightfully varied. Bravo to the kitchen team, who fully deserve 5 stars for their performance. ​Breakfast: A remarkable detail, rarely seen in over 100 five-star hotels visited: individual coffee pots at each table. This avoids long lines and ensures very smooth service. Excellent organization. ​Staff: The restaurant team is polite, attentive, and remarkably efficient. As a business director myself, I must highlight how rare it is to find such highly qualified personnel. ​Gym & Facilities I observed the cleaning team at work in the gym: the equipment is disinfected right down to the smallest detail. Huge congratulations to the person responsible for this maintenance for their thoroughness. ​Wi-Fi Network speed test (Fiber): Recorded speeds of 19 Mbps by the pool and up to 180 Mbps in the room. Excellent performance. ​Atmosphere & Rules This hotel is ideal for people seeking complete peace and quiet, with no noise disturbances or loud entertainment. However, note that the rules are quite strict: for example, playing with a small ball in the pool is prohibited (a rule I had never encountered before, and a bit too rigid for my personal taste). ​Tip: An ice cream shop located right next to the hotel offers drinks at much better prices. ​Suggested Areas for Improvement ​Security and Access Control: There is a lack of entry control. Since the hotel opens onto a public walkway, anyone can walk in and settle down without anyone checking a room key or wristband (we tested this ourselves by walking in, sitting down, and leaving freely). In other establishments of this standing, access is systematically requested. ​Gym Amenities: It would be better to replace the plastic cups with small 25 cl water bottles. This would allow guests to hydrate while using the treadmills without the risk of spilling water on the machines.

Absolutely amazing hotel, rooms clean tidy and smart! Main reception ultra modern following their makeover. Buffet food breakfast and evening meal, relaxed environment friendly staff. Pool area spot on, and waiter staff walking around to bring anything from the menu to you. Adult only so no kids running around or getting upset. Great location with some amazing views of the dunes and sea from the bottom bar. Would highly recommend a visit/stay to this hotel.

Beautiful hotel, Rooms were clean and immaculate. Food in the buffet was excellent. The Krystal Restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere, could do with some background music and candles on tables. Food was good though. We didn’t try El Oasis Restaurant but it looked lovely with views of the dunes, Staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, Initially we were put in a corner room near the lift with a tiny balcony and no view, we asked to be moved and although they couldn’t move us the first night, we were moved to a room with a lovely large balcony and a view of the Dunes the next day. Entertainment was average, apart from the Abba evening which was really good, Location is right next to the maspalomas dunes which were amazing. All in all we had a fantastic week at this hotel and would definitely return.
