Playa Bonita

My husband and I stayed here for 11 nights this October and had a wonderful time. We would definitely return! All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, well laid out and cleaned daily. The pool and surrounding areas were kept lovely and clean, making it a pleasure to use. My only suggestion with the pool area would be to have more speakers as the music can only be heard round one side of the pool and any announcements about activities also can only be heard one side.  The restaurant was excellent, with fresh, good-quality food and plenty of choice. As I have coeliac disease and need to follow a strict gluten-free diet, I really appreciated how accommodating and helpful the restaurant staff were at every meal. They went above and beyond to cater for my needs, freshly preparing gluten-free pizza, pasta and desserts whenever I asked. At breakfast, there was also a separate toaster for gluten-free bread, along with a good selection of suitable breakfast options. The hotel is well located to access the beach, the beach is beautiful and the cleanest I have seen! There are quite a lot of steps to get down to it, though. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and frequent easy to use buses too.  Overall, we had a fantastic stay and felt very well looked after, especially when it came to catering for my dietary requirements. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

Our third visit to this little gem in the last year. As per both previous reviews - not a fault. Great large clean pool, nice pool bar area and lots of sunbeds over large spacious grounds. Large very clean rooms, above average food, lovely staff, good night entertainment, good location, 5 mins flat walk from the large beach, plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by. Highly likely we will return in 2027.

An excellent well needed break. Playa Bonita was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay The food was outstanding and plenty of choice for everybody at every meal. Food was freshly cooked and no matter what time you went to eat there was always plenty of fresh food. All the staff in the hotel was so welcoming and could not do enough for us. The whole complex was immaculate, Clean and highly maintained. Every day the room service was offered, but not always needed and the cleaning staff Were of a very high standard It was lovely to see the chefs out at service and I complimented them on the food The reception stuff were highly attentive and all the maintenance staff, the gardeners, etc Were, hard-working and very kind and polite All the bar staff and waiters worked so hard and hygiene was of a very high standard I can highly recommend this hotel to anybody. We really could not find any faults and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

This hotel has some good and bad things about it. The location for the Irish Square is great, with tonnes of (admittedly similar) bars around. The restaurants are quite pricey though. Hotel food is pretty samey and can vary in quality. There are loads of flies though. The pool is great, but be quick if you want a good bed. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily but linen isnt refreshed. The staff are mostly polite and friendly. The entertainment is mostly rubbish though. Flamenco Dancers, some kids doing tumbles and spinning round expecting applause and, the worst, "Rebecca" an absolutely awful singer who sings through her nose, clearly speaks not a word of English and is singing phonetically so it sounds hilarious. Zero interaction with the audience either. By far my biggest gripe is the cleaning staff though. Rude, hog the lift, shout at each other from half 7 all over the halls, walk in whether the door is locked with a do not disturb sign or not (at one point at 7.50am) and I even caught one of them charging their phone in my room. We had to use the stairs more than once when we were shooed from the lifts by them. All in all though, not a terrible hotel. Its adequate, in a good area, and mostly does what it says on the tin.

All I can say is Do Not book this hotel if you have standards. I would never put a hotel down unless it’s completely necessary It is not 4 star more like 2 We arrived late at night the staff told us where our room was..didn’t offer to show us just said walk past the pool and it’s on the right (obviously we didn’t know where the pool was and it’s dark) Eventually found the room and the quality was shocking. Broken mirror, rusty shower and the shower floor was dirty. We were allocated a new room and to be honest it wasn’t much better so thought let’s just try and enjoy the break The next day we went to bfast. The food constantly has flies on it Any form of meat is either under cooked ( pink chicken ) or over cooked and rock hard All inclusive yes but you’d be better off going BB and eating out The beach is close but certainly not enticing we didn’t even walk on it Surrounding area is scutty The entertainment is pants in the hotel The cleaners walk into your room without knocking and if they do knock then they walk straight in and that was after we had double locked the door ! Save your money and look elsewhere We contacted jet 2 who apologised but didn’t really have much impact on change It’s not somewhere I’ll be returning to that’s for sure
