Suitehotel Playa del Inglés - Adult Only

Came here for my wife's birthday. Hotel was ok. Very clean which is good. Unfortunately beds were extremely uncomfortable and was 2 singles pushed together which wasnt great. Food and drinks were fine, nothing exceptional. Location was quite good but would not return to this hotel for the price

When I arrived at the hotel, check in was very prompt and courteous, with a good dash of humour. This immediately gave me the impression that I was really going to enjoy my stay. My room was of a comfortable size and very clean and well maintained. The common areas of the hotel were also well maintained and clean. During my stay constant maintenance was evident, particularly around the rooftop jacuzzis which were drained, refilled and had the water tested every morning. The restaurant food was varied, of a high standard and very plentiful. Despite other reports to the contrary I did not find it very samey at all. There were theme nights, a barbeque outside some nights, rotisserie chicken outside, something for everyone. The restaurant staff worked tirelessly throughout the day but 4 people stood out for me. Toni who was always flying around clearing tables, and resetting them, Sally, who gracefully cleared tables non stop at peak times, Ninia who was very attentive and had excellent English, and Fabio, who worked the omelette station. I felt dizzy watching him juggle pancakes, omelettes and fried eggs all at the same time as taking orders. A true master of his craft. The Rooftop Bar was excellent and during the day Airam provided a constant stream of cold beer with a smile. In the evening Mutia provided excellent Table Service which kept the drinks flowing and residents extremely happy. I met some extremely nice and interesting people on this trip, many who had stayed at the HL Suite Hotel on numerous occasions before. That in itself is better than any good reference for me. I came on holiday to enjoy myself and relax, and that I certainly did. Would I stay here again if in Gran Canaria ? Most definitely, a truly outstanding and remarkable hotel.

You will not get better food anywhere , if you are after an eating holiday this is your place , It really is good , BBQ most night’s and the seafood is amazing large fresh prawns every night . The bread is also delicious . Wine at dinner is ok always something different . The rooms are clean and comfortable but bring a fire stick if you want British TV or netflix or you are stuck with 2 UK news channels . 2 sinks and a power shower , I did not miss my bath , not enough shelving in the bathroom especially in the shower , staff were all lovely and could not do enough for us , extra hangers in the wardrobe memory foam topper , a floor fan in the room , They even sent a tec guy to get the fire stick working . excellent facility’s at the hotel including the spa with loads of treatments and try the hot stone beds , we also enjoyed the outdoor gym and jacuzzi on the roof . they could do with a hand rail to get in and out though . We did the quiz on the friday , improvements could be made here it was just a shout out the answer thing and a bottle of champagne prize ( which is probably free anyway) We only ate out once to a thai resturant 100 meters away but reception could not find it for us . Not to worry about that . would we come back ? yes if only for the food and the amazing massage by carlota on the roof and for only 25€ such a bargain .

HL Suites is a central hotel in PDI, it was close to kasbah centre with bars, restaurants and shops (although very run down) and easy access to the beach when you find the lift, otherwise it’s down steps, reception would ring taxi which arrived promptly and had a set rate so there was no getting ripped off. The hotel itself was immaculately clean, staff were lovely, rooms were a good size, cleaned and towels changed everyday. Food in restaurant was varied, with show cooking and a bbq on certain nights, drinks were plentiful with a good choice. Sunset bar definitely worth a visit. Now for the negatives the air conditioning in the room works in a fashion but wasn’t very good, so you might need a fan. The worst experience of my holiday was getting stuck in the lift, 3 of us got in the lift from the restaurant, on the next floor we were joined by another 2 people, there was no alarm to say it was overweight and the engraved sign said 6 people, pressed button for 9th floor it started moving then stopped, moved slightly then stopped again, I don’t remember much after this as I am claustrophobic. Eventually they opened the lift and we were stuck between floors, I have limited mobility so struggled to get out, afterwards we found out others had also been stuck in other lifts as well throughout the holiday, there was no apology or explanation given. I don’t think we will be returning to this hotel after such a traumatic experience.
