Having read some reviews, we came with an open mind. We were so pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back again. Travelled as a couple in our 50s for a week in mid October, staying on an all inclusive basis. Check in was quick and easy with everyone at reception very pleasant and helpful. We stayed in room 204 - an upper floor one bed apartment. While the huge balcony overlooked a road, there was virtually no traffic on it and the view towards the sea, overlooking Matagorda, was spectacular. Great for people and plane watching. The front door overlooked the quieter swimming pool area. The apartment was bright, spacious and clean. The cleaning staff called 5 days out of the 7 we were there. It had all that you would need if self catering, which we weren't. Just be careful of the shower - it you have it on full power, it tends to flow out around the floor. Not sure why it is designed like this but we managed by just using a lower setting. The complex was spotless - the pools and the areas around were both cleaned daily before the pools opened at 10am. Other staff were out from early sweeping and emptying bins. Can't comment on whether there were any 'towel wars' as we were never down for opening. Any time we were at either pool area, it was the afternoon and we saw beds available although not sure how this might be in the busier months. There are 2 pools - the quieter and slightly smaller one nearer the back of the complex where we were staying. The main pool is bigger and livelier. Might be an idea at both pools but especially the larger one, to put in small plastic tables with cup holders around the sun bed areas. It would stop spillages in these areas. The big pool is beside the pool bar where the staff are kept busy all day. There is an area to the right of the bar where snacks such as burgers, hotdogs, chips, and sandwiches are laid out from 10.30. Probably fine when they are fresh but a bit tired after a few hours - not the hotels fault if they are not being eaten. One comment - it would be great if the pool bar could be left open beyond the current time of 6.30pm. This would give folk the chance to enjoy their evening outdoors as the entertainment room doesn't suit everyone. The token system is a great idea by the way - you get a small round token at check in per person. When you go to any of the bars, you hand in the token and can order two drinks. You must return your cups before getting any more drinks or if you don't order any more, you get your token returned. This has been brilliant in stopping cups being left all over the complex as we have seen over the years in other resorts. The food was a very good all-inclusive standard. Breakfast had a selection of traditional hot items - rashers, sausages, eggs, beans, mushrooms, etc. Plenty of cereals, breads and fruit if a fry is not your thing. The lunch and dinner had a good selection of hot and cold options. Everything was always hot and well presented and we never failed to get something to eat - too much on some days if we're honest. The themed dinners each night were a nice touch - Mexican, Chinese, Spanish, international, etc. The staff were always pleasant in the restaurant. Folks have made comments previously about some staff but this is not deserved - what do people want? A song and a dance from staff who have to clean up after others meals??? They all do a great job and keep the restaurant clean at all times. One comment we would make however is that it does get very warm - a better air flow would be most welcome. The entertainment team seemed to be doing a great job from what we saw. We saw some adults having a great time doing activities with them in the afternoon. So much energy - it was great to see. If we had one slight negative, it would be the entertainment room. There was something listed every night - karaoke, singers, acrobats - and though we tried to go down two evenings, we couldn't stay long as the heat was just too much for us. It's a pity because for some people, they really look forward to the evening shows. Not a big deal for us but for others, they might struggle a bit when the room gets full. Another thing we would advise is to stay away from the small 'supermarket' on site, to the left of the reception. On site shops are always traditionally more expensive but this was next level stuff. One small item in particular cost us €1.40 but was selling for €0.73 in the local Spar. We also bought a bag of snacks there one evening and noticed that they were branded on the back as Lidl but sold for more than double than Lidl would charge. If you need essentials, buy in the local Spar and bring them up. The location is excellent - just a short walk out the back gate will bring you down to the beach and the centre in Matagorda which has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We also discovered that a 5 minute walk from the back gate brings you to the bus stops for all the Lanzarote buses that will bring you down to Puerto del Carmen, the airport or to other resorts such as Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca. We had a great stay - never had to contact reception or maintenance once during the week. People need to ignore many of the negative comments that get posted about this complex. This is an excellent 3 star accommodation and we will certainly be staying again in the future. Well done all!

The morromar is in a fantastic quiet spot up the hill not far from the beach 7 minute walk by road but if you go through the gate near the pool with the bridge it’s less and direct. The beds on the beach for hire are £14 for two with parasol. Our apartment it very spacious with everything you could need . The cleaner have been good and I can’t praise the maintenance staff enough and they have been extremely quick and efficient with a few minor problems with the room . The check in was very busy but the receptionist was very pleasant and efficient . The food has been average to good and some days lovely even though there’s not a massive lot to choose from there’s always something to eat they have a range of things from beautiful salmon muscles beef stew, lasagna and the basics of chips and chicken nuggets. The lower pool is lovely and peaceful however if you’re looking for something more lively, the top pool has music and entertainment and the bar is up there. All the staff work very hard And have been very pleasant. There are bars and restaurants just down the hill towards the beach so the location is perfect. We are still here and have six days left in room 337 which in my opinion is a lovely location in the complex with a nice view of the quiet pool. It has been great value for money however if you’re looking for something with ice sculpture , towels in the shape of swans and carved melons this is not the hotel for you . It is lovely clean and no frills apartment complex , our decor is good and the apartments very clean. The pool area is swilled every morning snd everything around the pool is in great condition. I would highly recommend you give it a try if you’re looking for a nice clean value for money this is the place. .
