Gran Castillo Tagoro Family & Fun

We arrived at the Gran Castillo at 9pm on Tuesday 22nd September, the road to the hotel was closed so we needed to walk down to the hotel, nothing that the staff could do. Check in was smooth, easy to check in and got our keys and towel cards for around the pool and the beach. The hotel is clean and tidy; there is always a maid around of a morning tidying the communal areas and we saw them daily when going to breakfast or the pool. The rooms and of a great standard the biggest let down was the air conditioning, it was 30c some days and the air con was not cold, we would encourage an upgrade of this in the future to increase customer satisfaction. However, the rest of the room was spacious, the bathroom was separate and we managed to store 2 cases under the sinks to make use of all the walk in wardrobe by the bedroom door. The towels were always clean but far too small, the pool towels are the orange striped ones in the photos and the white one is one for post shower, very small. I ended up using my towels I took with me instead. If you have a toddler who moves a lot in their sleep on night 7 the maid noticed we had added pillows and the quilt to stop our little girl falling out and provided 2 bed guards as seen in the photo. The food was good for breakfast a lot of variety of cold and warm foods, bread, pastries etc. We went half board and would have liked the option to have lunch and not dinner. We ate at the hotel twice for dinner and then ate out every other night, there are some lovely places at the marina Rubicón. I think from personal experience having both all inclusive and half board at the same hotel makes it confusing, it would be better to see a drop in the AI price and remove HB altogether. The adventure zone was open to guests when we were there and this is brilliant for kids, it had a great atmosphere and the majority of the entertainment staff were engaging and energetic for the kids. Alba was amazing! She is a great asset to the team. The noise level across the hotel was fine, the entertainment was quite loud of an evening but stopped promptly and we weren’t woken by any noise. Overall; a 4 star due to the food and the AI vs HB, but a positive experience and would possibly return again.

Cant fault the hotel, lovely big rooms. Pools great for kids esp the splash park! Food great esp the bbq that was put on by the pool. Very clean also. Kids loved the disco every night. Nothing ever an issue for the staff, big shout out to Nancy in the buffet restaurant who went above and beyond for us every night and brilliant with the kids!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this hotel! That’s our second visit to Gran Tagoro and it has improved so much since the last time we were here, there’s much more kids entertainment, big shout out to the hotel animator ALBA 🫶🏼 for entertaining kids during the day and at night, my kids are not usually a big fans of taking part in such activities but they absolutely loved it this holiday and I was so happy to see them enjoying every part of it! Would definitely recommend this resort if you’re looking for a family friendly hotel 👌
