I honestly cannot put into words how incredible our stay at Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife has been. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome, valued and genuinely treated like royalty. The staff have been absolutely impeccable, going above and beyond to accommodate all of our family’s needs with such warmth, kindness and professionalism. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and that level of care made such a difference to our experience as a family of six. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were fantastic, the entertainment was brilliant, and the cleanliness of our room was exceptional. Everything was maintained to such a high standard, and the attention to detail throughout the resort was evident. The castle is simply stunning and gives the hotel such a magical atmosphere, making it a truly special place to stay. There was so much to enjoy, and the entertainment meant there was always something to look forward to. What stood out to me most, however, was how accommodating and attentive everyone was towards our family. It is one thing to stay in a beautiful hotel, but it is another to feel genuinely cared for, and that is exactly how we felt throughout our entire stay. If I could suggest just one improvement, it would be to introduce a few more activities specifically designed for children under the age of four. With two toddlers, I would have loved a little more provision for their age group, as it would have given them even more opportunities to participate in activities suited to their developmental stage. As a parent, it can sometimes be difficult to enjoy certain experiences when your little ones are too young to take part, so additional toddler-friendly activities would make an already outstanding family resort even better. Aside from that one small suggestion, I genuinely have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience. I did not want to leave! This holiday has meant so much to us, and the memories we have made as a family are priceless. I have already been recommending Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife to everyone, and I will most certainly be returning. You have set an exceptionally high standard, and I can only hope that our next visit is just as wonderful as this one. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel so special and for giving our family such a beautiful holiday experience. You should be incredibly proud of the service you provide. ❤️
Great location not far from airport you can even see the planes passing over the castle but not noisy at all ! Lovely atmosphere especially for families most ideal for plenty going on and things to do lovely shows to watch ! Food was sensational plenty of choices to eat for everyone all looked fresh , everywhere was exceptionally clean staff work so very hard and always so very pleasant and helpful! Rooms were immaculate cleaned to a high standard and very impressive with everything you would need iron / ironing board free safety deposit box fridge was filled every day with refreshments if used we are a couple in our 60s and travelled with another Same age we loved having the adult only area with the infinity pool and we had the most amazing sea view from our room ! Lovely walk to the nearby town San Miguel with shops bars and tapas bars ! Restaurants on site were absolutely lovely especially the steak house great welcoming staff big hands up to waiter Amil also and for taking some photos for us as it was our wedding anniversary! Great holiday had by us all and some beautiful memories made ! I would definitely recommend this holiday for families with young children as was more accommodating for ! But all in all we had the most amazing fabulous time !!! Don’t forget to take towel pegs as in get get quite windy at times !! 😊
We went as a group of 5 adults and two toddlers ( just short of their 2nd birthdays) The priority for us was a somewhere that had everything we needed for a family holiday and reduced the stress and hassle of taking two young children on their first holiday abroad. We chose this hotel because of its reutation faciliities and closeness to the airport. The hotel was all we expected in terms of the faciliies, clenliness and service but fell far from it's 5 star status in terms of food, drink and its Italian resturant. Food The staff service and clenliness at the buffet was excellent but where it really fell down was in its failure to replace or replenish trays of food. The trays of food were small and within an hour of the buffet opening you were left with many empty dishes. In most good buffet restuarants the trays are replaced quicklly not here. As our week went on it became clear if we wanted to enjoy the buffet you needed to get in earlier. The serving areas are large and extensive but actually contain very little food. As for the food itself what we had left to choose from was ok. Speciality restaurants We tried the Italian one nitght. What an absolute shocker. Bruschetta so hard it could have broke a window. Minestrone soup that looked like dishwater, was tasteless with mushy vedgetables. The pork overcooked and bland carrot cake. Added to our buffet experience we began to suspect the food was cooked well in advance and just left heating for some time brfore serving. On a positive note our experiences at the Steak restuarant and the Asian resturant were much better. Great taste, good potions and felt freshly cooked Snack bar This place was poular with families with children and with it being next to the children water play area we used it a few time. The food was average but did the job of a snack. What I would commend is how staff kept it clean. With the drinks and beer fountains nearby I have seen places like this get very grubby but this area was well served. Children's Water Play area We spent most of our time here with our young ones. I really liked the size of the shallow area, allowing them to experience and explore playing safely. It was so big there was plenty of toom for lots of toddlers play. We only walked around the play areas but it was clear that children of all ages were having a great time. Our best family memories will be of the fun we had there with the children. The Bars We usually ended our night at Hesperis BAr. Good music and great bar service. However the AI drinks range was miserable especially for a 5 star Hotel. Stll a nice vibe to end our evenings. We used the Sports Bar a few times and great bar and waiter service. The Rooms We were in Floor 4 Block 7. The rooms are very clean and spacious and well looked after by the cleaning staff. For a 5 star hotel you might expect a better quality in terms of the little things you expect in your room. On one occassion our power cut out. We reported it to reception before we went out for the evening. Came back to the room later to find the power was still out. They sent someone and he basically switched the fuse box back on but we insisted he wait and help us find out the cause. It turned out to be a leaky kettle which housekeeping replaced quickly. The Playroom The small playroom was a great place for our little ones. A place to play out the sun. The toys were basic but did the job and the staff member there took time with the children. There are lots I can't comment on because we never really got time to use all the facilities. Our holiday really worked around our children who had a great experience. Which for us was the main thing It will be a long time before they are interested in what drinks are included in the AI package !
My son loved this resort. Fantastic pool complex and just had a lovely meal at the steak restaurant Ladon. Big shout out to Christina our waitress who was amazing.
Having stayed here for over five years consecutively, I’ve experienced this hotel through its recent transition to new ownership of Hyatt. I understand due to a lawsuit the hotel has had to pay out millions to previous employees and I can’t help but wonder if the changes I have seen are due to the business trying to claw back money from this loss at the cost of the customer experience. (Travellers see article below for information) https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/2168513/tenerife-hotel-disney-castle-pay-600-6m The loss of the previous loyalty tiers and their respective benefits is extremely disappointing and even the ones we were supposed to get as part of the Hyatt group weren’t honoured. We paid for the faster WiFi when this should have been free and reception happily took our money for it without a word. Another benefit we were supposed to have was bottled water but this again was not honoured. It’s also not a guests job to go chasing what should already be in place for them. The exorbitant price increase to choose your own room- this is sheer greed €540 for 15 nights on top of the cost of your stay? This is not a benefit as much as it’s wrapped up to be. In 2024 and 2025 when this was introduced it was half the price it is now to select a room. We paid this to guarantee the castle view with a large balcony in years previous but the new price increase is pure corporate greed and a slap in the face to loyal customers. This isn't a price adjustment; it's a blatant cash grab that insults our intelligence. We opted not to pay this hoping amongst hope that our tenure with the hotel might mean something and we were given a room with a half balcony that faced over the car park and the abandoned half built building behind the hotel- it’s like a rotten tooth in the landscape and this is what we were met with. This building is no fault of the hotel but still not what I’d like to look on to when I look outside. The decision to limit guests to 2 á la carte visits per week reducing this when it was previously 3 is also disappointing- you have three specialised restaurants it makes sense to have 3 but this too will be so you don’t have to staff, cater and supply guests with this three nights a week. Even the stoppage of the special circus night that used to take place in the Dreams Factory with the magician/face painting/games/inflatables was a disappointment but being able to use the other themed restaurants at least made up for it but now guests get LESS. This policy effectively short-changes guests who have paid for a premium experience, artificially restricting our options and diminishing the overall value of our stay. A transfer is no longer being included from the airport when it was previously- this used to be a great amenity to start off the stay and was just so convenient, something less to stress about. So management scrapping the guest transfer service is a major downgrade. The quality in the house wine has dropped through the floor- I believe it used to be Modello red wine? Whatever you are serving now could strip paint from the walls and is obviously a cheaper brand that hurts your pockets far less. Even the amenities in the room are subpar compared to the old Bahia milk and honey body wash/shampoo/conditioner the Hyatt one white tea and jasmine hardly has a scent and just isn’t as good. Another place of obvious cost gouging is the main buffet restaurant- the food is one of the most complained about points of the hotel and this was not something I used to agree with until now. This is also not a commentary on the Staff they work hard with what they are given. The dessert station used to be an incredible, massive smorgasbord of choices. Now, it's just cheap, mass-produced, pre-bought mousse and gelatin-heavy fillers of mousse cakes, defrosted apple tarts and if you’re REALLY lucky there will be a defrosted Daim cake. Note also the large spaces filled with huge plates of biscuits that my gran would serve- travellers note this space previously was filled with more dessert options as opposed to dry bland biscuits- no one wants this for dessert. Put them back in the lounge bar where they used to be available all day and made sense if you ordered a coffee. To go from freshly made and filled canollis and tres leches cake to squares of bought in to cheap, mass-produced, gelatin-filled is dire, having experienced how spectacular this place used to be, seeing what it has become is incredibly disheartening. Knowing the high standards they once maintained makes this cheap, downgraded reality so much harder to swallow. If you are a first time guest with nothing to compare this to you wouldn’t know any better but the closest I can advise you is the buffet now on the Thursday Gala Night is how the daily standard USED to be and even the gala night now isn’t what it used to be. You’d have the table (used in the morning do fresh orange juice) full of welcome drinks, table cloths, live music, the food choice was a spectacle. It is incredibly insulting to return as a loyal customer and find that everything has been cheapened. They are charging more for a fraction of the quality, completely relying on their past reputation while serving a drastically inferior product. The most frustrating part is knowing exactly what they are capable of. To go from premium quality to cutting corners so aggressively feels like a total betrayal of their repeat guests. We are not stupid. We notice. It matters. These things all carry weight when it comes to choosing to re book with a hotel and what we tell others. It seems Hyatt are happy to sacrifice previous loyalty hoping that the hotel reputation will pull in new guests who don’t know any better about how genuinely good things used to be. I would like to take the opportunity to highlight the things that have remained consistent and positive- while I’m sure in your response to this review will focus solely on these and ignore all my previous points with a stock response as I see constantly. *The staff- José Francisco, Nicholai, Angel #1 & Angel #2, Carlos #1 & Carlos #2, Egonaiga, Tyrese, Danella, Cecilia, all are an asset. The staff in the restaurants are all extremely hard working and deserve recognition. The kids club and entertainment staff too their personalities and the way they interact with the children is such an asset- Mo, Boba, Megan, Gary, Viktoria, Carla, Maria Brigitte, Sarah, Danny, Luca Samba and the lifeguards. Without these big welcoming personalities the soul would be gone from this hotel. * This hotel is CLEAN. It is constantly being maintained, painted, the gardens are tended, the maids are extremely hard working and it’s a lovely hotel. * Personally I find the entertainment program to be extensive, it suits all ages and we specifically enjoyed the evening entertainment on the terrace and in the Hesperis bar our favourite being the group Gotra they were very enjoyable. * The Shows- we no longer go to these as they’ve been the same since we first came but they are very professional and well done. I will say it has been the same shows for years now so maybe time for something new? * There are things to do outwith this hotel you just need to actually get off your…sun lounger and look! There are bars, restaurants and shops a ten minute walk from the hotel in San Blas as well as the gorgeous fishing village Los Abrigos a twenty minute walk along the coastal path that has many seafood restaurants around the harbour with fresh seafood caught and served the same day- we loved Restaurante la Tasquita del Puerto. *You were gracious enough to give us a late checkout as our flight wasn’t until the evening and I really value that we were able to enjoy the hotel amenities until we left- the late checkout (if available) is a Hyatt benefit and I was happy to see this honoured. Overall, sadly the changes in the hotel have outweighed the positives and are really sucking away the magic this hotel used to have. I hope you see this is not a character assassination of the hotel but an honest comparative perspective from a guest who has spent tens of thousands of pounds to stay at your hotel and wants to give you constructive feedback that I hope you might listen and action. Would we return? I honestly don’t know anymore as the price doesn’t fit the level of quality we had come to expect, 5* prices for 3* quality and benefits.
