Best Tenerife

This hotel is one of the worst experience's of my life, due to the uncleanliness of the rooms, with shower curtains and broken floors, skirting falling off, shower curtains which is disgusting, dripping air conditioning that never worked properly so had to keep towels on floor so we did not slip. all inclusive but still had to pay 4 euros for water, my daughter-in-law got her jewellery stolen from room and they refused to get it investigated for us. the whole experience has put us of and we will never be in Tenerife again. the food in restaurant was always cold we sat to watch if any staff done a temp check on food safety and it never happened this is so dangerous. I was ill for the last 4 days due to a bacterial infection, and was hospitalised for a week when came home doctor stated this was due t the pool water or drinking water, I did state to the doctor that black flakes where floating around in pool the staff stated it was cleaned daily never witnessed this either, this is never a 4 star hotel, I would struggle to say 2 star. I have travelled for years all over this is the first hotel I had to report back to jet 2

This is the 7th time we have been here and we do keep returning if we can find a decent deal. The kids love the place, so it just makes it easier for us. Honest review is as follows: Staff - The staff are great. From reception, to the bars, restaurant and entertainment team, they are all happy and look after the guests. There are staff still there from when we first went 10+ years ago which is nice to see. The hotel must treat their staff well. Some of the staff remember us from previous years which is nice and shows they care about the customer. Rooms - From what I have read, these are a bit hit and miss. We have never had an issue with the rooms. They are spacious and clean and are what is required. Some had been modified and are better, others probably need a bit of a touch up. The only gripe from this trip was the air con. It was very poor. Middle of August and it made sleeping difficult. Pool view room is nice and we got one without paying for it. The only downside to that is, if you did want an early night at all, the loud music and entertainment goes on until 11 so forget sleeping before that. Fortunately that did not affect us but may do if you have a young family. Food - Again, this seems to be a common source of complaint. Personally, I have no issue with the food and never have. Breakfast is a decent choice of hot and cold breakfast, cereals, bread, pastries, yoghurt etc. Fresh omelettes are cooked while you wait. We did not venture in at lunch as the food outside was ideal for us. Pizza, chips, burgers, hotdogs all available and on this visit the selection had grown to include things like cod bites and onion rings as well as meats, paella and pasta. Plenty of it, all hot and always had a decent lunch. Dinner in the main restaurant was ok. Temperature wise, I have never had an issue. All of the food is hot and seems pretty fresh with some meats cooked while you wait and pizzas being made fresh. They have a different theme each night for dinner expanding the choice a little. On my last stay, I left a review that variety was lacking slightly. That is still the case. There is a lot of choice in general, but it is usually the same night after night with just the odd but added depending on the theme. Would be nice to have a bit more choice and variety as I often just ended up having the same dinner each night. All in all though, the food was ok, it was hot, and I never went hungry. Drinks - We were all inclusive, so drinks are all self serve. There is a large choice of wines, spirits and beers but if you do want certain brands of drink, they are not included and you have to pay extra. I don't mind that too much, but just something simple like a cider, is not included in what you can have so you have to pay out extra. House spirits v branded didn't really worry me too much. Would just be nice if there was a bit more included. Pool - There are 2 main pools. A shallower, smaller pool aimed at children. Inflatables are allowed in this pool and it is warm and pleasant. The main larger pool was a nice temperature when we went, although it was middle of August. I have heard of it being very cold out of the warmer months. No inflatables are allowed in the larger pool and the lifeguard was very hot on this. And speaking of the lifeguard, this was the worst year for that. I'm not sure if they have a new contract or new company providing the lifeguards but they were nowhere near as good as in previous years. The first few years of coming here we saw the same lifeguards and they were great. Always sitting by the pool and always attentive. The lady this year spent most of her time on her phone and was often well away from the pool just chatting to other staff. Wasn't a major concern for me now my kids are grown up, but if I had younger kids then I would expect and want more attention to be paid to the pool. Sunbeds have a reputation as being bad. This year seemed better than previous years. Yes, you had to get up early to reserve one if you wanted one in a certain place but it wasn't horrendous. There were no scenes of people running for beds. I went down one morning at 7 and there were a couple of people doing the same. I just picked 4 beds and then went back to my room for a bit until the pool area opened at 9. There were plenty of beds around though, so worst case is you would just be a bit further from the pool. Entertainment - The animation staff were all brilliant as always. They were very friendly and made everything as fun as possible. Similar to my last visit, the daytime activities weren't quite as good as years gone by. Things like archery and rifle shooting were great fun but have never returned. There is still enough to keep you entertained during the day but variety could just make it a bit better. Evening entertainment was hit and miss. I am not a fan of shows involving the crowd. I watched some great singers, dancers and variety acts but there were a few shows like men vs women and a couples game. I would much rather watch a decent performance rather than some people who don't really want to be on stage, doing stupid things. Location - The location is pretty much perfect. Rather handily, there is a bus pick up directly outside the hotel for most of the excursion tours. There is a supermarket right next door selling everything you need. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away and directly behind the hotel is the golden mile which links Los Cristianos to Las Americas. Loads of decent shops and restaurants, plenty of entertainment and it feels like a safe place to wonder about. Overall, this is not a bad hotel. I have been 7 times and have now booked an 8th for next year. I would not put anyone off coming here. I just think the main issue is people come here expecting too much. This isn't a high end hotel but it is more than suitable for a family trip to a nice island and covers what you need. If they just tweaked a couple of little bits i.e. better air con, bit better choice in food and slightly better entertainment, then it would be recommended a lot more. It just seems the same things that people complain about are often not changed.

Three stars given for great staff, great location, and the potential to be a fantastic hotel. We did unfortunately have lots of issues. Full honest review Staff - all fantastic, cleaners doing a great job in rooms, chefs always churning more food, entertainment team working hard, maintenance teams responding very quickly. Everyone overall being polite, friendly and helpful. Rooms - 1st room was much smaller than photos had advertised & smelt very strongly of damp! It seemed appeared clean/tidy but very run down. We were moved the same night. 2nd room much bigger, smelt of fresh paint & was very modern. Unfortunately it was not without issues. The bathroom door didn’t ever close fully, the shower drain was blocked and needed fixing & on our very last morning, I returned to the room to shower & pack to find the toilet fully off the wall, staff explained to me that the people below us had complained that our toilet was leaking into their room, so we were left waiting while it was fixed. Food - We only ate very small amounts on site due to some negative reviews putting me off, but genuinely it all looked nice and plenty to choose from . The chairs in dining room are very worn and 100% do need recovering, but it was all kept very clean and the restaurant staff were lovely (especially the omelette chef). Pool - morning 1, water look clear and pool area was being throughly washed down. By the midday however the pools were now full of floating black bits (I assume mold from then edges I later had spotted) Splash Zone - first glance looked fun, then I notice the climbing black mold across the back wall. Kids Club - staff were very good and I felt safe to allow my kids in there for a short while, they drew pictures also played games in the baby pool. My children had great fun. Each night at 8:15pm they did music/dancing on stage and the kids all appeared to enjoy it. Location - fantastic! We loved being in the heart of it all, very close to beach, shops, bars, restaurants, anything you want it’s there, markets, zoos, water parks all under 15 minutes taxi which came exceptionally fast with a quick buzz from reception. Entertainment - seemed a good variety but we were in our rooms with little ones so didn’t actually get to partake. My only criticism is the microphones were exceptionally loud (in our pool view room). Even with doors closed and ear plugs in, I could hear every single word. Music was off by 11pm, but it’s just something to be aware of if you prefer quiet. Roof top - It seemed peaceful, and had great views, help yourself drinks for all inclusive guests, a toilet, plenty of sun beds, two hot tubs. Overall personally we couldn’t stay here again until the mold issues are rectified. It’s just such a shame as I think it’s a great location, with great staff and a lot to offer.

Location is excellent also had upgrade for a 65th birthday treat for my husband. The all inclusive was a big plus side. Poolside bar was refreshing it's food on a regular basis which was a lovely alternative from the dining room at lunch. The entertainment wasn't up to much money

He is only 3 years old, and from the moment we met Margot, it was so clear how much she genuinely loves children. Margot has been absolutely incredible so loving, caring, kind and patient. You can see that everything she does comes from such a genuine place, and the way she interacts with the children is just beautiful. She has such a warm and caring nature, and Harri absolutely adored her. ❤️ It’s honestly so hard to put into words just how wonderful she has been. She has made such a lovely impression on both Harri and us, and we feel so lucky that he had someone like Margot looking out for him and making his time so special. People like Margot are truly what make a holiday even more memorable. She is such a kind and genuine woman, and we will honestly miss her so much! 🥹❤️ Thank you for everything, Margot. You really are amazing, and we will never forget you! 🌸✨
