Hotel Catalonia Oro Negro

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars! What an amazing 12 days we’ve had here. The hotel has been absolutely first class from start to finish. All the staff have been fantastic — polite, friendly and always going out of their way to make us feel welcome and enjoy our holiday. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The food has been top marks. Everything was lovely and served nice and hot, with such a great variety of food,pasta, (Do ask for pasta to be heated up tho) meat dishes great, fish, fresh salads, fresh fruit, old-fashioned puddings and loads of lovely cakes for dessert. There really was something for everyone. The breakfast here has been absolutely fantastic. There is such a huge choice, with something for everyone. From a full English breakfast, eggs, bacon and sausages to cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, bread and plenty of other options. Everything is fresh, hot and well presented, and there is so much to choose from that you’re spoilt for choice every morning! A brilliant way to start the day. We were also lucky enough to have a lovely room with a beautiful sea view, and thankfully it was very quiet, which made it even more enjoyable. The hotel is only around 5–10 minutes from the sea, and we spent a few days down by the seaside enjoying the area. There are also plenty of pubs, entertainment and things to do nearby. The entertainment at the hotel has been pretty good too. You can really see that they make an effort to keep everyone entertained and enjoying themselves. And as it was my birthday while we were here, the hotel went above and beyond to make it extra special. We were surprised with a bottle of wine and two glasses, which was such a lovely gesture and really appreciated. 🥂🎂 Overall, we’ve had a fantastic holiday and couldn’t fault the hotel. A big thank you to all the staff for making our 12 days so enjoyable. ❤️ We really have to give a special mention to some of the amazing staff who have looked after us so well during our stay. Stephano, Juan and Abderrahim who works in the restaurant, has been fantastic and always made us feel so welcome. Edgardo the maintenance man, has also been brilliant and so helpful whenever needed. And Angy, Elizabeth and the team at reception has been absolutely amazing — so friendly, helpful and always there with a smile. But honestly, all of the staff have been fantastic. Everyone has been so polite, friendly and welcoming, and they have all played a part in making our 12-day holiday so Five stars from us! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Martin & Nicola

Will never go back room was a shambles doors wouldnt shut let alone lock bathroom was filthy and blsck mould floor was all broken you would slice yiu feet open moved to a different room not much better but safer. Food alwats seened cold so ate out.

Hotel not bad. Great Air con in our room. This is not half board should be bed & breakfast as the evening meal is awful. Worst ever and I have stayed at lots of hotels and I am not fussy. Don't rely on the evening meal, be prepared for extra money to eat out at night. Breakfast just about edible. Not enough sunbeds so good luck.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at Catalonia Oro Negro in Tenerife and honestly, we would return tomorrow! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Alejandro checked us in and was extremely informative, friendly and helpful, giving us everything we needed to know about the hotel. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Premium Deluxe room, and it was gorgeous. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a beautiful bathroom. But the highlight had to be the fabulous sea view from our balcony, where we could sit and watch the most amazing sunsets. The only negative for us was the dreaded sunbed wars! They definitely exist here. We spoke to Angy at reception, who explained that we could pay €30 per day for the premium facilities. We decided to go for it, and it was honestly one of the best decisions we made. For the €30 we received robes and slippers each, tea and coffee, chocolates and bottled water every day. But the biggest bonus was access to the rooftop pool. It was so much more chilled and relaxing, and we could get a sunbed easily no matter what time of day we arrived. ☀️ A special shout-out to the rooftop pool lifeguards, Davide and Irisidio, who were both so hardworking, friendly and welcoming. They really helped make the rooftop area such a lovely place to relax. 🍽️ The food The food throughout our stay was excellent. Breakfast had everything you could want ,a full English, fresh breads, cheese and ham, lots of fresh fruit and cereals, pastries, freshly made pancakes, smoothies and eggs and omelettes cooked to order. 🍳🥐🍓 Evening meals were equally impressive, with plenty of choice and fresh meat cooked to order. And the pizza was tremendous! 🍕❤️ Another big shout-out to Stefanno and Juan Carlos, who were always friendly, professional and happy to help. They are a real credit to the hotel. ❤️ Overall We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Catalonia Oro Negro. The staff were wonderful, our upgraded room was beautiful, the food was excellent and the rooftop pool gave us the peaceful, relaxing experience we wanted. Apart from the sunbed situation around the main pool, we really couldn’t fault our stay. Would we return? Absolutely — in a heartbeat! Just got back from the oro negro. My sister and I have a fabulous time. The staff was very friendly, the food was lovely, the room we was given was adequate for the 2 of us. We would definitely stay here again. The only thing was we hire mobility scooters from the hotel ( out sourced from another company) for 2 singles we was charge 120 euros each, which is a little steep, its worth just going round the corner for a better price. All in all I have to say this was a wonderful hotel. Be careful of people giving bad review on it as they want 5* hotel at 3* prices, and find their reviews just down right unjust.
