Hotel El Duque

Came back yesterday was there for 10 nights my partner and myself. We had a fantastic time all staff was friendly and helpful apart from one lady don’t know her name but she was very rude. I don’t know where bad reviews are coming from we was all inclusive food was good if you go all inclusive you know what your gonna get simple. Have already booked to go back in January no matter where you go some people want to find things to moan about. Overall fantastic holiday thank you all at el duque

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay at Hotel El Duque. Just to clarify, our booking included two different room types.The superior room did have air conditioning however the standard room did not. Unfortunately, it was the standard room my dad was staying in, which became extremely hot and uncomfortable in the 32°C temperatures, with only a ceiling fan and portable fan to circulate the hot air. The location is okay, with a supermarket, pharmacy and a few restaurants nearby. However, the rooms are extremely dated and not the cleanest. The chairs were badly stained, the shower broke, the kettle was leaking, and within an hour of arriving my dad sat on his bed and it collapsed — we discovered it was actually missing a leg at the bottom corner. The biggest issue was NO AIR CONDITIONING in the standard rooms, despite temperatures of around 32°C. There was only a ceiling fan and portable fan, which simply circulated hot air. The room genuinely felt like a furnace with no cool or fresh air. My dad barely slept for the entire week and ended up feeling quite unwell. The pool area also had hundreds of sunbeds but not enough space to actually put them out. Overall, the hotel is in serious need of updating and better maintenance. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms and particularly the lack of air conditioning would stop us from returning.

We just stayed here for 5 nights for a short break to see if our 3 year old could handle holidays and we we're pleasantly happy with the hotel. The location is good but its a good walk to the beach which is rather hilly but not impossible, it took us with a 3 year old in tow about 25 minutes to get to the El Duque beach. The hotel itself is well presented, externally clean and litter free. The pools are lovely, with a smaller pool 0.5m deep for the little children with free use of the inflatables in the pool areas. The pool doesn't open whilst 10am, and the sunbeds are chained into a pile so there's no sneaky reservations before 10am, strict but works well we found. Plenty of space around the pool for our duration, with plenty of parasols. The restaurant was great, never failed to walk in and get a table, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. A wide variety of food and we never went hungry at any point as there's something for everyone. The entertainment, hard to give comment on this due to the time of year as i don't want to mark it down but i'm guessing its much better peak season. The mini-club wasn't open at all for the entire stay, but the park and swings were available to use outside the mini-club. The evening entertainment was ok, again probably better peak season, a 10-15 minute mini disco at 2030 each evening moving to bingo or a quiz and then a singer/magic show etc. The room, we stayed in was an apartment (A008) which was very dated, lots of missing paint, kitchen doors we're missing chunks out of them but as a base, if you can look past all that it was fine and cleaned daily. My only serious concern about the room, was that our safe, on the first two days after room cleaning was open, no idea who, or why but nothing was missing. It then remained closed for the remainder of the stay. Not pointing fingers at staff as could of been an error with the safe or something but it happened. Towels were available to hire from reception at $15 each, which is returned at the end of your stay, or when you have finished with them but you can change them as much as you need to in reception. Hotel is situated in a plaza of shops with a supermarket full of food, drinks, suncream, inflatables etc (down the escalator on the lower level). The hotel is also secure, you need to use your keycard to open the big gates to get in and out which was a nice feeling as we have no one around the pool trying to sell you things etc. The free bus for Siam Park is literally outside the bottom of the hotel, through the plaza of shops and across the road to the right. Bus arrived on time, and we we're dropped back to this at the end of the day which was brilliant. 3 Overall, we were pleased with this hotel, and would return.

Hi, We went All Inclusive, but the drinks were watered down. We are not drinkers as such but do enjoy a few cocktails while on Hols. The drinks were of a poor standard, both the drink and selection of drinks. Also All Inclusive ended at 11pm after that you had to purchase your drink. The food was a whole other issue. The food served was terrible. Breakfast was average at best. Fry was tasteless, however fruit and pastries made it bearable. Lunchtime was poor. Selection - what selection. We had to eat out for our evening meal as choice was too limited. the fare was of a poor standard. I am writing this in the hope that you may consider removing them from your list and save other customers the experience. In my opinion Hotel El Duque does not match your high standards
