Mediterranean Palace

**Great location, but a disappointing all-inclusive experience** The Mediterranean Palace is in a great location, and check-in was quick and efficient. Unfortunately, other parts of our stay fell short. Breakfast was OK, but the room lacked storage for a family. There were no drawers, which made unpacking and keeping everyone’s belongings organised difficult. The biggest disappointment was the all-inclusive package. It certainly didn’t feel fully inclusive, with extra charges for some food and drinks. The requirements also seemed to keep changing: initially, wearing a wristband was enough, then we had to give our room number as well, and later we were asked to present a room key too. This inconsistency became frustrating. Service at the bars was mixed. Some staff were amazing and really helpful, while others were very unhelpful. Our evening at the on-site Coal restaurant was particularly disappointing. Although the food was good, we found the staff rude, miserable and inattentive. The lack of care and service spoiled the evening. The restaurant was only half empty, yet getting attention was still difficult. Based on our experience, the staff’s attitude made it easy to understand why it wasn’t busier. Despite enjoying the food, we would never return because of the service. Finally, the swimming pool was **FREEZING COLD**, which really affected our enjoyment of it. Overall, the location and some excellent staff were positives, but the inconsistent service, disappointing all-inclusive package, lack of room storage and freezing pool let the stay down.

Definitely good things to say about our stay. The hotel is absolutely spotless, very modern and aesthetically pleasing, the staff very friendly and work extremely hard, Buffet food was not bad although the coffee in machine was horrible no coffee taste at all!, location is fabulous. Now on the not so good things from our opinion. Pool bar a bit chaotic ,constant queues and depending on who served you you were asked for room card even though we were staying all inclusive and wore the wrist bands. Pool bar snacks even AI guests had to pay , I know the restaurant is open but all they had is left over from lunch, a few hard wedges, shrivelled vegetables and pasta not appealing to a 10 year old resulting spending money on a trip McDonald's!, On arrival you are given vouchers for the 2 onsite restaurants , Italian just ok the steak house serves steak but you have to pay extra for steak even as an AI customer , we did have the Sunday Roast and it was fabulous. Pool day time entertainment is non existent and nothing entertaining for my 10 year old daughter , no rings or balls allowed in pool not really what we have experienced previous at family hotels. I would return to this hotel but not as a family and I definitely feel not everything was all inclusive.

This was our 5 year coming and the standards have dropped so much. Trying to explain things to staff who didn't take things on board. Sending a bottle to suite as apology but we don't drink. Even at breakfast on our last day a staff member clearing tables with his phone playing at full volume. The place we loved to go has lost its magic and we have cancelled our booking for next year in the hotel. Pity as it was a good location to base holiday. We had a suite with plunge pool so it was expensive stay and poor value for overall service.

We went to the Coal steak restaurant in the hotel. They served the meals on sizzling plates but they were cold! The sirloin my hubby had was cold, tough & v. fatty. I had the German sausage & mash. Tasted ok but again cold plate. For the price, it was poor.

We have stayed at the Mediterranean Palace for the past 4 years and whilst this visit was good and the hotel was lovely there were some elements of the service that let it down this time. When I discussed with the team members they advised this was due to new ownership that was prioritising tour operators and hotel revenue. I understand that this is important however this should not be at the detriment of the experience. The main issues were: 1. Chaotic evening bar area, the evening bar service could be slow and had got busier which is great as entertainment had improved but the area had not been reviewed to make it a smooth and experience for guests. There were not enough tables for guests and drink service was slow. 2. Room cleanliness was generally good however details were missed such as empty glasses and bottles not cleaned and tea/coffee cups not changed when they had been used 3. Courtesy rooms for guests with late flights have been removed. This is unusual for a hotel of this calibre and made the last day less relaxing as with a late flight it was not easy to make the most of our last day. Overall, a good stay and still a good hotel. Breakfast was very good and varied and rooms very comfortable. Most staff were very helpful and friendly, only front desk let the side down.
