Mediterranean Palace

We went to the Coal steak restaurant in the hotel. They served the meals on sizzling plates but they were cold! The sirloin my hubby had was cold, tough & v. fatty. I had the German sausage & mash. Tasted ok but again cold plate. For the price, it was poor.

We have stayed at the Mediterranean Palace for the past 4 years and whilst this visit was good and the hotel was lovely there were some elements of the service that let it down this time. When I discussed with the team members they advised this was due to new ownership that was prioritising tour operators and hotel revenue. I understand that this is important however this should not be at the detriment of the experience. The main issues were: 1. Chaotic evening bar area, the evening bar service could be slow and had got busier which is great as entertainment had improved but the area had not been reviewed to make it a smooth and experience for guests. There were not enough tables for guests and drink service was slow. 2. Room cleanliness was generally good however details were missed such as empty glasses and bottles not cleaned and tea/coffee cups not changed when they had been used 3. Courtesy rooms for guests with late flights have been removed. This is unusual for a hotel of this calibre and made the last day less relaxing as with a late flight it was not easy to make the most of our last day. Overall, a good stay and still a good hotel. Breakfast was very good and varied and rooms very comfortable. Most staff were very helpful and friendly, only front desk let the side down.

Holding their high standard. No bar last though - not sure why.

Hotel visually nice in main areas but room was very small and shower was poor, it went hot and cold all the time, it constantly flooded the bathroom and we kept getting a very bad sewage smell coming from bathroom drains when we were even using it. Every day we would come back to the room and it would be stinking of sewage. The beds were uncomfortable and mattress felt like it needed replaced, you constantly felt like you were rolling over to one side in it as there was a big dip in it. Staff very friendly on arrival and during stay but Reception desk seemed to be a bit more abrupt and down beat when checking out. Breakfast was average, food selection was below average from other hotels we have stayed at in Tenerife and mainland Spain. A lot of the time the cooked buffet food was actually cold and one toaster didn’t work the whole time we stayed there so there was always a que for the remaining one working toaster. We never seen anyone trying to repair or replace this during our whole stay. The coffee machines would one give you just over half a small cup of coffee but if you tried to press it again it was slightly too much and just overflowed everywhere. Other hotels we have stayed at in mainland Spain and Tenerife previously have also had a far nicer clientele. A lot of the guests staying here we found to be very rude and have no manors at all, especially at breakfast time and around the pool area. Overall not what we expected from and advertised 5 star hotel. We have stayed at a lot of other 5 star hotels for similar prices in Europe and basing it on past experiences. I would say this hotel would be more of a 3.5 star rating not 5 star. Would we return? Probably not actually. When returning to Tenerife we would go back to the other hotel we previously stayed at in Adeje instead as we couldn’t fault it. When paying the price we did for an advertised 5 star hotel, we expected better

We really love this complex. 3 hotels, and all of them are great. Our stay at the Mediterranean Palace was made great by David at the Kids Club, Abel and Carmen at the reception, and tge whole personnel at the restaurant!
