Hotel Orotava was an absolute highlight of our trip to Tenerife, offering immaculate rooms, stunning views, and exceptionally warm service. From the peaceful ambiance to the wonderful local dining recommendations, everything exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to return.

Good location in centre of town near amenities. Having visited this hotel 4 times in the last year and 5 in total the atmosphere in the dining room is now much improved and typically a pleasant experience. Unfortunately one newer reception staff appears to have fallen behind previous customer service standards, in my experience. Also overnight the staff is only one person who is not permitted to leave reception. Note, there is no security. Therefore any problems may not be adequately supported and any face to face interaction with staff requires a visit to reception in the night. In addition there is an issue with the internal phone system that allows phone calls between rooms and there is no way to trace who and when these calls are made. This allows for harrassment between guests including unwanted overnight ringing. These issues, in my opinion and experience are serious and if addressed will provide a needed improvement. Any issues with staff attitudes from the guest point of view require some method of review without prior judgment of either staff or guests, as currently, the hotel appears not able to deal with this sensitively.

We are just about to leave after 14 nights. We upgrade to a top floor suite costing an extra €700 on top of the cost of the TUI holiday cost. So it's pretty pricey. We just expect a decent nights sleep from a suite as you could imagine. Three nights ago our neighbours awoke us in the early hours. Two nights ago they started again banging, these are huge rooms so whatever they were doing was LOUD. At 1am I awoke to the internal phone ringing, it was very disturbing. Next door it transpires was a German woman & child. We summise the child was kicking a ball at the wall and using the phone to be mischievous. Reception were useless I had to call the emergency TUI line as the male on duty was horrid to my husband and I. The day reception treated us extremely poorly and this was our 5th stay in 2 years! You would of hoped for support, sympathy and some action. The Manager rolled her eyes at my Husband! He wanted to discuss our night of no sleep through extreme stress. TUI UK rang the hotel which they took exception to and all turned against us. We had done nothing wrong, we spent masses staying in a hotel with no local reputation as you do get to know people that live here who weren't surprised. My Husband had said to the hopeless night reception he couldn't do the job ( of asking guests to be quiet through the night and ringing phones -ours ) and he was asking me for an apology from my Husband! Today out last, room vacation for 12, at 12.10 they rang our room to get us out literally as we were moving our cases out. No cleaner on the 12th floor waiting. No late check out available ' apparently'. Really we spent a fortune for this hotel which is simple, simple food, pool area is not great. Pay the bit extra get the treatment you deserve by staying at The Vallemar which is exquisite and I hear would of instantly helped us with mean neighbours allowing football in the room, ringing us and waking us up then not being able to sleep at all through a argumentative, temperamental night receptionist. Rooms can ring each other, the hotel will not support you for complaining about anything, staff that once were friendly to you treat you like you are the enemy. We would never return ever. A man sent a drone up 12 floors filming us on the patio and it zoomed in! Sat on a sun deck filming sunbathers! Pervert I imagine but getting away with it until I reported it. Treat yourself to a proper hotel where you get respect for your hard earned money. Restaurant is packed out, chicken wings, long queues for coffee, long tables reserved for huge groups, people searching for tables for 2 barely to be found. But I will say one waitress seemed to fondly remember us was very pleased to see us, made a point of many many greetings and is just lovely. The dining room staff are far superior to reception who treated us abominably.

Location is great. Shopping centre is across the road and a short walk down the hill to the main strip with shops, restraunts and right on the sea front which is stunning. Atmosphere is very dull. Very little going on in a day time and entertainment at night doesnt start until 9pm. Definitely would not stay here with kids. Rooms are very dated and basic. The pool is much smaller than it appeared to be on the photo and there is damage in/around the pool of little bits of tile missing which could cause a safety issue. Cleanliness was good. Could see them every morning from our balcony cleaning around the pool and the sun loungers. Food was shocking. Very repetitive and random with very little to make an actual meal with. Half of it was cold. We ended up eating out quite a few meals because we was sick of the same and repetitive food. Some of the staff were very rude. Overall this hotel was definitely not the 4 star standard it was advertised. We will return to the area but definitely not the hotel.

Fair honest review from a British couple who stayed for a short 4 day break. Reading the reviews before coming I was a little bit worried that I had made a mistake booking this hotel. Check In. Pleasant and quick arrived 9.40pm and advised to pop down and have food from the buffet that was due to close on return our key was ready. Location Fab location close to local bars, shops and café,. All Inclusive - Drink Typical All inclusive. Not the best I've had not the worst. Average at best. Tip if you want Water to go to the room ask. They will give you a bottle for your room. The is no Fridge in the room. Access to a paid Mini bar only All inclusive - Food Typical All inclusive. Food well cooked and some variety. Not the best for fussy eaters but there is always Pizza and Chips. Hotel Dated but clean. Air conditioning in room. Staff Some staff seem quite rude and do not treat British guests the same as other nationalities. Entertainment Lacking - Poor at best. Personally the hotel was average overall but served the purpose for what we booked. Short break. Would I come back for a short break possibly due to location. I do feel the hotel could make minor improvements. The simple repairs of missing tiles in the pool. Hotel staff treating all guests the same. Entertainment actually cater to all guests.
