Mediterranean Palace

Great overall experience. Really enjoyed our two weeks away here! The hotel was modern and clean throughout. Rooms were also modern and clean. Cleaned daily, with fresh sheets every 3/4 days. Rooms were well soundproofed from the balcony door and front room door. Staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you! Reception team in particular were absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable and any issues we might have they would deal with it. There were two young lads that would walk around the evening bar bringing drinks over whenever we had an empty glass so fantastic service from them! Despite a fantastic overall experience, there are a few things I would say could be improved on. Firstly, I found that it wasn’t actually all inclusive despite boarding all inclusive. I found that for the first few days, we would have to guess what was included and what wasn’t. We booked all inclusive for the peace of mind of knowing we could just get whatever. However the pool bar only certain things were included. A number of bars and restaurants that were part of the overall complex were mentioned as being included in our stay at check in but not all inclusive. It slime have been nice to have the Al a carte restaurants included, although the 50% off for guests after two free visits helped soften the blow. Pool was massive but could have done with more music in the day for more of an atmosphere, However I appreciate that that is purely personal preference. Evening entertainment was a bit copy and paste for my liking as well. Found that a lot of evenings it was some form of acoustic band or singer with not much variety. But again that might just be my taste. For some reason we were also put into an accessible room which appeared to have much less space for storage and shelving compared to other rooms. We aren’t disabled in any way so that was an odd one. The pier buffet I found was very repetitive with mostly the same meats and stews every night. Overall though, very happy with the experience. Was a welcomed break away for me and my wife. I would definitely visit again if the price was cheaper than what we paid.

Unfortunately we did not get the 5* experience that we was expecting We paid 30euros for the children's birthday package for our son's 10th birthday. However after only a few hours the balloons had deflated, and the cake was tasteless. We did mention this to the hotel but nothing came of it. On our last night my partner ended up with raw chicken from the buffet. Luckily he quickly noticed and informed the waiter who kindly organised a bottle of prosecco to be taken to our room. However this could have ended up causing serious illness, especially if it was eaten by a child and we don't feel that a bottle of prosecco is any kind of compensation especially as we was all inclusive anyway and this was already included. Again mentioned to the hotel. Lastly, we was told that our room - 1050 - was a "mountain view" however the only view we had was of the car park. Also we rarely got any sleep due to children running and shouting up and down the corridors, doors slamming and music blasting from the balconies. As we didn't want to spend our holiday complaining we just got on with it and tried to enjoy as best we could However for the price we paid for this holiday, we feel massively let down by the above mentioned issues I have emailed the hotel and also Jet2 who we booked with for a resolution but no response as yet

This was our first visit to this hotel, booked mainly due to the location - we had a great time - family of 3 (1 adult & 12 & 15 yr old) Room lovely- 6th floor overlooking golden mile- before we arrived I tried to get a pool view but unavailable.. lucky for us as loved looking over the golden mile in the evening- and as soon as patio doors closed we heard no noise which was initially a concern of mine. Room cleaned and big enough for us however we didn’t feel the floors were swept throughout our stay, and sheets not changed at all. We were all inclusive- the drink options were amazing- branded drinks and great cocktails, however the food wasn’t really to our liking. First day felt it was amazing with endless sushi, fish etc but after that we did feel we’re probably typical English in saying there’s not a lot of choice for us- lots of stews etc, breakfast limited in terms of what we’d usually want - I found my children ate the same every day as no other option they’d want to try. I think they cater well for other nationalities. Breakfast 9am onwards was stressful - so busy and kids laying about on the floor etc on numerous days! The lunch at the pool bar was great- an extra cost for all inclusive but we did prefer this on a few days and reasonable in prices.. if only they had these options in the main restaurant.!! We are use to theme nights on holiday but there wasn’t this.. we missed a Mexican or Chinese option etc. coal restaurant was great.. the ceaser salad amazing and lots of people Said the roast dinner was great! My son had sirloin steak at an additional Cost - said was great but ate a tiny bit after all the fat taken away! However, had time allowed we would have gone here again at a cost to us. We didn’t like Diabolo the Italian, unfortunately none of it was to our liking. We had pizza and 2 pastas. The entertainment team were great- didn’t get involved much a just a few adult games. (12+) but they remembered our names from the first day- the pool games & aqua aerobics/ party great fun! We were lucky enough to be there for white night… our favourite night without a doubt! Band and entertainment team great! All evening entertainment was ok.. quite chilled at night. But we enjoyed it. Bar staff ok- there were a couple of ladies in the evening that really made our holiday- so friendly and attentive. Shower room on last day ok- it was sooo hot in there but did the job as apparently hotel was full and couldn’t keep room on which was a shame. You can use the cleopatra pool.. very relaxing- we nipped over here a few times. A gate with direct access to the beach is wonderful! The location is the best… there are so many choices to eat out at night. I think if we return we’d do b&b.

A lovely family holiday — but a few things could be improved We had a really lovely family holiday and overall were very happy with our stay. There is a lot to love about this hotel, particularly the family-friendly atmosphere and the staff, who genuinely make you feel welcome. Kids’ Club & Entertainment The kids’ club was one of the real highlights of our stay. The staff were absolutely amazing. They work incredibly hard and genuinely make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive. We didn’t actually leave our 3-year-old at the kids’ club without us, but he was still able to get involved in so many of the activities, which was brilliant. The staff knew his name straight away and always went out of their way to engage with him personally, make him feel comfortable and involve him. He absolutely loved the soft play, which was also a lovely air-conditioned space and gave us a welcome break from the sun. He really enjoyed being able to interact with the other children in there. He also loved bracelet making and the kids’ aqua disco. The kids’ disco in the evening was lovely too, and it was great that there were activities afterwards, such as balloon making, which gave the children something else to enjoy. The whole kids’ club team deserves so much credit for the effort, care and enthusiasm they put in. They really do go above and beyond and made our little boy feel so welcome. Pool Area The pool area was generally lovely and, surprisingly, quite quiet during our stay. There were inflatables and a bouncy castle out on Wednesdays for most of the day, and a magic carpet on other days, which were great additions for the children. The sunbed situation was also much better than we expected. Sunbed reserving really wasn’t an issue at all during our stay, which honestly took a lot of pressure off and made the holiday much more enjoyable. Towels are removed before 9am, although they are then placed on the tables next to the sun loungers, so I’m not sure how much of a deterrent that really is. However, even coming down around 11:30am, there were still plenty of sunbeds available. For us, this was a real positive because we never felt like we had to get up ridiculously early just to secure a place by the pool. One thing to note is that only small inflatables are allowed in the smaller pools. The splash park area was also great and felt really safe. There are sun loungers around and even in the middle of August, it didn’t get too busy. We loved it. Food & Restaurant The main restaurant was probably one of the areas where we felt there was room for improvement. There seemed to be quite a limited choice of food, which I suspect may be because the majority of guests aren’t all-inclusive. I’m really not a fussy eater and can usually find something wherever we go, but even I found it difficult to have the variety I would normally expect from an all-inclusive holiday. My husband struggled even more with the choices, and in the end we actually decided to eat out on some occasions despite being all-inclusive. There are snacks available for all-inclusive guests in the restaurant at certain times, but unfortunately these were really disappointing. Again, I’m not fussy at all, but the options available weren’t the kind of snacks you would really want around lunchtime and definitely weren’t something we looked forward to. Pool Bar The pool bar was a slight biggest disappointment for us too. The staff are genuinely lovely and clearly work hard, but the organisation can be frustrating. The bar is advertised as opening at 10:30am, yet it never seems to be ready on time, and even once it is open, things often don’t seem fully prepared. The queues can also get very long. There is also a lack of communication around food. There are no clear signs to say that food stops being served at 4:30pm, so it’s very easy to miss this. We also went to get an ice cream at around 5pm one evening, only to be told there were no cones left. The bar was open until 7pm, so in a 5-star all-inclusive hotel, running out of something as basic as ice cream cones two hours before closing seemed quite crazy! There were no cones the next day either….disappointing for a 3 year old looking forward to his daily ice cream. The staff themselves are lovely, so this feels much more like an issue with organisation, preparation and communication rather than the people working there. Cleanliness The hotel itself was lovely and generally very clean, although I do think this could be improved in certain areas (I am being fussy here) Around the pool, we often noticed food left on the floor from the previous day, which wasn’t particularly pleasant. On our first night, I noticed that the bottoms of my feet were completely black after walking around our room. It made me question whether the floor had actually been mopped, or whether it had perhaps been mopped with dirty water. I appreciate that these things may sound like being fussy, and overall the hotel really was lovely and clean. These were just little things that stood out to us and, for a 5-star hotel, I think there is room to be a little more thorough. The TV in the room is great and you can connect your phone to screen cast YouTube or prime. There is also a Netflix option to log into your account. Ours wasn’t working initially but they sent a technician and it was all because the TV needed an update…it was all sorted then. Great for a chill out for our 3 year old. Transfers This isn’t anything to do with the hotel itself, but it’s worth mentioning for anyone travelling with young children. With Jet2, the transfer pick-up and drop-off point is at a hotel across the way. It isn’t far, bit it is up the hotels hill the across a zebra crossing and a few metres down…but having to stand outside in the heat for around 30 minutes while also trying to wheel three suitcases, three sets of hand luggage, a buggy and a 3-year-old was quite a challenge for two adults! Just something to be aware of if you’re travelling with young children and lots of luggage. Overall Despite the things we felt could be improved, we really did have a lovely family holiday. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the cocktails are great, and the kids’ facilities and entertainment were a real highlight. The kids’ club team in particular deserve a special mention. Their effort and personal attention made such a difference to our little boy and, as parents, that really means a lot. We also really appreciated how relaxed the pool area was and the fact that we never had to stress about getting a sunbed early in the morning. That genuinely made the holiday more enjoyable. For us, the biggest areas for improvement would be the food variety, organisation of the pool bar and a little more attention to cleanliness around certain areas. We would 100% stay again in the future. Thank you Mediterranean Palace for a great stay. Probably our favourite holiday with our son so far. Having previously stayed in the Baia Principe Fantastia…Mediterranean Palace was the better choice for us!

The location of the hotel is fantastic. There is a gate that leads straight to the beach. The rooms are lovely and clean. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Great atmosphere throughout the hotel. Staff are extremely helpful. Especially a gentleman named Samual on reception. I would like to have seen more water activities for the kids. As they only did the inflatables one day.
