Hotel Riva del Sole - Adults Only

We spent a week at RS RIva del Sol in a classic room on the ground floor which was arranged by the hotel as my husband suffers with arthritic knees. The room, although tired, served its purpose, and we were grateful for the consideration to my husband by the hotel. The room was cleaned daily. The hotel has a very friendly atmosphere, with staff who were always happy to assist when help and guidance was needed. In particular, a big shout out to Claudia and Jonida on reception, and Sara & Monica and the other ladies in the restaurant and bar. We booked half board and food was ample. At breakfast, there was something to suit everyone! My husband has a sweet tooth and was in seventh heaven with the variety of sweet options he treated himself to after his breakfast! For me, I loved the nuts, seeds, fruit and yoghurt offered. After this, it was a joy to watch my omelette being freshly cooked in front of me, otherwise I went for the continental meats and cheeses! Evening meals were varied, and offered 3 options for starters and mains, and two dessert options. I loved the pasta starter choices, the mains where I would always choose the fish option, and the fresh fruit for dessert …. (except allowing myself the Tiramisu one evening, which was delicious!) The hotel pool was lovely, with a bar to order drinks, food and ice cream from. Plenty of sunbeds, chairs & parasols, and a choice to sit poolside if you were quick enough, or under the olive tree grassed area. We both also enjoyed massages during our stay! The beach was just a short walk from the hotel. I found it comical to be swimming in the lake with the many ducks that pass you by! The evening comes alive at the beach with the bars and restaurants all busy. It would be a good idea to hire a car because getting anywhere without one did restrict us from going to other places. However, we came on holiday for rest and relaxation, and that is exactly what we got! The hotel is in quite an isolated area, with a limited ferry service. We did go to Sirmione by ferry, which was lovely; however, experiencing how busy it was, made us appreciate our chosen location in Moniga, and appreciated returning to our hotel! One small moan, towards the end of our week, the hotel had building works being carried out. This was quite noisy and spoilt the peacefulness of our surroundings. I understand hotels need to have maintenance works carried out from time to time, but it would have been courteous to have been pre-warned by the hotel that replacement of doors and windows would be taking place. All in all, we had a fabulous week!

We hired a car from Verona Airport it was a lovely scenic drive from the airport to the hotel. The location was perfect for what we wanted 5-10 min walk down to bars and restaurants by the lake. We ate down there every night and all the restaurants we tried were good. Our room over looked the pool and had a lovely view towards the lake. It was super hot when we were there but the room stayed lovely and cool and the air conditioning worked a treat. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and our room was very clean. Would definitely go back again

Beautiful location, great view of the lake from the balcony, reception staff very polite and helpful, food was very tasty, no trouble to make something else if you didn't like what was on the menu, grounds well maintained, swimming pool delightful, room could do with a refresh in the bathroom, otherwise all very good and all staff fantastic, 3 minute walk down to the beach with restaurants and bars

great 4 star hotel with excellent staff and quality food only faults beds not very comfortable and in the middle of nowhere. Will need to rent a car or take €105 taxi from airport. Local taxi service needs booking in advance and female driver very offensive

A really friendly welcome when we arrived at the hotel, with a complimentary welcome drink provided. We were part of a small escorted tour group staying here for a week and our room on the top floor was fabulous - a large room (305) with a panoramic balcony showing gorgeous views of the lake. We liked both breakfast and dinner choices, using local and regional produce. The best part of staying here was the general demeanor of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The ladies on reception really went out of their way to help us plan excursions on our two free days and gave us advice on where to go.
