I am very glad that we have chosen this hotel. I recommend this place if you are planning to explore the area. It is well located - 20 min walk from the airport via the main road, train station is 5 minutes walk, main square is 20 minutes walk through the high street with lovely shops and places to eat. Pisa is very walkable and if you have an extra time, climb up the historical wall and try to do the full walk around the city . The hotel is very clean, warm, with very good breakfast, super comfortable beds and fantastic staff. We were able to leave our bags before the check-in in at 2pm. We have visited other places - Lucca (20 min) and Florence (1hr) by train. If visiting this place again, I would book the same hotel. .

I stayed at the Alessandro Della Spina with a group of friends, and found the hotel to be absolutely lovely! Great location, rooms with character, but above all fantastic staff who looked after us very well. Highly recommend.

Arriving at the hotel after a very early flight from LGW we wondered quite what we were letting ourselves into as the taxi pulled up in what looked like a residential street. We needn't have worried as this lovely little hotel is set back from the street and is a great little find. Our room was not ready on arrival but there was no problem leaving the cases with them while we went and enjoyed all Pisa had to offer for the day (yes it was that early). Once we got back we were shown to our room on the ground floor. The bed was very comfy and there was a reasonable amount of room and storage. Power sockets were available close to the bed so no problems with phones, watches etc. The furniture in the room was wooden and perhaps a little dated but then also added to the overall charm of the hotel. The room itself was a little dark, partly due to a metal shutter which was all but closed over the window. Raising the shutter allowed in more light but the view was somewhat less than inspiring so we left it down. The bathroom was big enough that we didn't get in each others way and the shower was quite good. There was however a bit of an issue in that the seal around the bottom leaked and left puddles on the floor. All resolved after a quick trip to reception and the provision of some extra towels to absorb the mess. There is a small bar at the hotel with drinks at quite reasonable prices. Breakfast was very much continental style with no hot offerings but there was a toaster and also ready made paninis which could be warmed up in a small oven on the side. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Ask them for restaurant suggestions and you will not be disappointed. The hotel is around 20/25 minutes walk from the main attractions but only 10 minutes (even dragging heavy cases) from Pisa Train station. Although in what looks like a residential area there were no noise problems and we enjoyed our two nights staying here.

A lovely hotel, very comfortable and clean. Extremely handy for the railway station , bars and restaurants. Easy to access all the main tourist attractions on foot. We would especially like to thank them for the assistance offered when the strikes were on and our flight was delayed by 25 hours.

The hotel is easily within walking distance from the Pisa Train station. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful. Also they there is a lovely court yard where you can chill out and relax. The rooms are a little dated but done in Italian style but plenty of storage space. Also there is a mini fridge in which there are 2 bottles of water which are free of charge which I thought was a nice touch and a safe. A good all round medium priced hotel.
