Castellare di Tonda Resort

We recently spent a week here in a self contained apartment. We went as a family but were put in 2 different apartments which actually worked for us. The grounds are beautiful, lots of little buildings across site all with their own pool which makes the experience feel very private Despite a few other families that stay in the same building. - Beware some of the buildings are 1kilometer from the restaurant and bar, but I think it makes the stay feel that more magical and private. Would recommend taking a car. The food was very good, I would like them to consider a few more vegan options, but everyone else in my party was very satisfied including the children. We are from London so are use to busy city life. This trip was booked on a whim and it absolutely paid off. The staff were all lovely and helpful. We had a wonderful relaxing time. Either hanging out by the pool or taking trips to other towns including Pisa, Florence and Siena. The rooms were basic and gave ‘old Tuscan chic’ very charming. I can see why this place wouldn’t be for everyone but it was definitely for us. So much so that we are seriously considering coming back next year. Also a special mention to the trainers at the stables, the horse riding experience was the high of our trip. Core memories were created.

We visited the hotel in April 2025 as a group of four families, each with children, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and everything was impeccably clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. The outdoor area was just as thoughtfully arranged, with chairs, loungers, and tables that allowed us to enjoy lunch and dinner outside in the fresh air, surrounded by breathtaking views of vineyards and forests. The children played freely on the lawn while we relaxed nearby. Service at the reception was outstanding—every request we made was addressed promptly, with warmth and a positive attitude. Breakfast was rich and varied, offering something for everyone. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and thanks to the layout of the hotel—where each group of rooms has access to its own pool and children's pool—we enjoyed complete privacy throughout our stay. The apartments on the estate are restored keeping original features of traditional Tuscan farm buildings so are rustic, but well equipped, clean, very comfy beds, great bathrooms. The staff were welcoming, helpful and we loved the area..

We are just back from this amazing resort where we had our wedding. We travelled with 60 guests and the experience couldn't have went any better. We stayed at Castellare Farmhouse and it was beautiful. The rooms are a great standard, with cooling facilities provided. There is a small shop 1km away and a supermarket in the nearest town. Our wedding was amazing, the staff really make this place the best. Donatella, Raphael and all the staff couldn’t be nicer and made our special day unforgettable. Highly recommend hiring a car for staying here. We can’t wait to go back

Beautiful location in the toscana hills. We appreciated the concept of having a swimming pool for each house and thereby avoiding the pool being too crowded. We also had a positive experience with the hotel restaurant, due to the staff being open and sympathetic. However, the receptionnists were rather cold and our arrival was rather disappointing, having to pay 30€ to get our already cleaned appartement early. The appartement itself had an appropriate size, but seemed outlived and presented problems with the air conditionning and the water outflow. In addition, the isolation was very poor and it was impossible not to hear the neighbours.
