Grand Hotel Bonanno

We thought this was going to be a lovely hotel but it was so noisey, the beds were hard, the plug socket was hanging off the wall, you couldn't have the window open at night as the train track was right outside your window. The air con in the room wasnt working at all as the buttons were pressed in. The breakfast was the same in the mornings. The onky good thing about this hotel was how far places were. I found the staff were rude and didnt really understand you

Firstly thank you for the upgrade. A big room with a coffee machine and free mini bar for juice , water & soft drinks. All staff great and friendly. Room at the back so no noise at all. Great nights sleep. Old fashioned hotel. Breakfast tasty and choices . Staff attentive. Bit of a walk into the centre of Pisa but not a problem as we had lovely weather. Short walk to the nearest train station about 7 minutes. 25 minutes to the central station. We travelled to Lucca & Monterosso. One meal in the restaurant. Delicious meal but strange disjointed service. Taxi ride from the hotel to the Airport €23 bit of a rip off. Cheaper arrival. They need bolt in Italy or fixed ride fares in Italy.

Friendly clean and good value especially the bar

Just got back from a pleasant stay at the Grand Hotel Bonanno. Its location is very useful for the San Rossore train station with only a 5-7min walk. Approx 15-20 mins walk from the Tower. All the staff were all very friendly and bonus points for being able to check in at 11am when I arrived too. Check in was quick and easy. Rooms were a bit basic and small for a 4* but it was clean and comfortable. Little disappointed that the water in the mini fridge wasn’t complementary as that is usually a staple of a 4*. Would have given it a 5* if the amenities suited a 4* more as I believe this is probably a high end 3*

We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel, it cost 13 euros so cheaper and easier than the Pisa Mover if 2 or more people. Hotel was beautiful, we had a deluxe room (328) which included a coffee machine and a fridge. We had slippers, would have been nice to have dressing gowns but thats my little comfort. Room was big with a good sized bathroom. We could here trains and sometimes next door but we weren't in the room that much. Breakfast was lovely and we had dinner there which was also beautiful. The staff we're all friendly and patient as my Italian is awful! We walked everywhere and got the train to Florence. For me, this is a great base to go around Tuscany. We ran out of time to go to Lucca so we will definitely be back.
